"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm CCO of a Software Development Company that provides full-stack web development and cross-platform mobile app solutions to clients across all industries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Semgeeks?

We brought them on board to grow relevant, organic traffic to our website because our company wasn’t happy with our organic rankings on Google.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to increase sales directly from our website.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select Semgeeks?

We worked with Semgeeks by creating for them a custom SaaS solution. And while working together we talked a lot about project promotion strategies and we understood that Semgeeks guys can help us with the promotion in SERP.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

First of all, we described precisely our goals and discuss our priorities. Then they did technical SEO analysis and described to us what changes we need to implement to our website and why. Then they start to optimize our conversion rate to increase our visibility on search engines. They also helped us with our social media strategy and wrote content for the site.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a team of about three people, which was led by a project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We definitely saw an increase in organic traffic over the course of the engagement. We’re satisfied with our investment and may engage them again for more work.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a meeting every week with both teams on the call. Their team was responsible, responsive, and knowledgeable. They are good communicators and always there to give us follow-ups.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It was the best marketing firm I’ve worked with. Their project leader was knowledgeable on a range of topics. He not only knew SEO but also understood the technical aspects of our project. They were a competent team.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Marketing Director, Woodhaven Lumber & Millwork
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Apr 17, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The quality of leads and traffic, as well as the quantity of visitors, has increased. Semgeeks delivers effective results and makes the collaboration seamless. Responsiveness and expertise are hallmarks of their work. Their dedicated efforts have garnered the partner's trust and confidence.
"“They’re really smart and understand what they’re doing with all things digital.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing director of Woodhaven Lumber & Millwork. We’re a building material supply company encompassing a wide range of products from lumber, millwork, sheetrock, windows and doors, decking, stairs, cabinetry, closets, flooring, roof and floor trusses, wall panels,  hardware, tools, and more.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Semgeeks?

When I started my position, the state of the company’s marketing was all over the place. The previous digital marketing company wasn’t bringing value and or a meaningful ROI. We needed to find a new partner.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Semgeeks manages our digital marketing and advertising efforts. This includes PPC, social media marketing, and SEO services. They manage both organic and paid content as far as boosting and campaign development go; this includes our video-display ads across the Google network.

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact. However, there are about 4–5 others on the team. Also, I’m sure there are individuals working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Semgeeks?

I worked with them in my prior role at an agency so I was already familiar with their work and the results they could generate. They did a mini-pitch of our business because my previous client was in a different sector.

In the end, I liked how they expressed they’d approach the engagement. It was clear that their focus and strategic KPIs were going to be effective for our business. They needed to be able to move our paid search efforts in the right direction. I knew from prior experience that they’d get me the results I needed.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership began in May 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We saw a huge jump in the quality of our leads when we shifted from a traffic strategy to a conversion strategy as well as an increase in phone calls and online form conversion.

With our site redesign in 2017, the combination of the new site and quality of the traffic increased our leads even more. The number of repeat and new visitors went up and our site’s bounce-back rate decreased. We collaborate constantly to optimize our campaigns.

How did Semgeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

We collaborate through email, Google Drive, and weekly/monthly calls or in-person meetings. The Semgeeks team is very responsive. As our business has grown, they’ve provided an account manager that I maintain daily contact with. She and I have established a very good working communication over email with how we work together.

When I’m working with the SEO or blog team, I’ve found that there’s a really nice rhythm, and the same is coming to be with the social media group which is a newer engagement.

Sometimes, things take a little longer than I’d like but that’s not to speak to their dedicated efforts. I often want things done a little bit faster, but that’s because I can be a little intense on expectations. Overall, I have no complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re really smart and understand what they’re doing with all things digital. I feel very comfortable and confident that they’re leading me in the right direction. I really do trust them. The Semgeeks team is full of nice people who are level-headed and don’t try to do the dog and pony show with me. They’re sincere, authentic, and transparent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are only a few things here and there but nothing is glaring or consistently an issue. Some things could have been completed more cohesively or strategically across the board of campaign strategy. We’re still finding our rhythm on a couple of matters like that. I’m sure it’s going to come together. They’re very responsive when I express that I want to fix something.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You must have open communication lines. Make sure to lay out what you’re looking for and play your role in reaching those objectives. Work with them as a partnership and understand your role in that. If you do, I know you’ll get the results you’re looking for.

- Industry: Media

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Feb 24, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The client has achieved greater brand awareness on social media and first-page ranking in Google results. Semgeeks’ successful results come from regular iteration, industry research, and a high level of professionalism. Their accountability and honesty make them valuable collaborators.
""Nobody’s 100% perfect, but Semgeeks is pretty close."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Custom Video Production. I produce corporate videos.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Semgeeks?

We partnered with them to exchange services: I provide Semgeeks with video production while they manage our SEO.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Semgeeks manages our SEO. They keep us on the first page of Google and relevant on social media. They run ad campaigns for Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. We give them a budget, and they manage the campaigns and adjust things as they go.

They also research and write impactful blogs for my demographic. They figured out my business and my audience before writing their pieces.

What is the team composition?

I interface with about 30 people. They’re a pretty big company.

How did you come to work with Semgeeks?

I came across them through word-of-mouth. Semgeeks has such a high impact in the community. They’re a professional company with employees, a brick and mortar facility, and a solid foundation in social media. I started pursuing them for a partnership rather than a one-off project.

How much have you invested with them?

The value of their work for us is about $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in January 2016 and is ongoing. In fact, we’re shooting a video for Semgeeks today!

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They keep us on the first page of Google. Their writers are really good as well.

How did Semgeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

Nobody’s 100% perfect, but Semgeeks is pretty close. They’re very on point in what they say they’ll do and how they’ll do it. They run their company professionally and are accountable for the actions. They absolutely provide value for what they do.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their accountability and measurable results stand the most to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d love a better definition or more precise explanation of the impact and ROI of advertising on social media. Semgeeks doesn’t answer phone calls to bring you business; instead, they’ll make sure the phone is ringing and get people to your door.

Any advice for potential customers?

Have a plan and a budget. You can’t hire them and set and forget. You need to work with them. It’s an engagement that requires time to see results.

#### Digital Advertising for Restaurant Group
**The Project**
- Services: Other Digital Marketing
- Project size: $10,000 to $49,999
- Project length: Nov. 2017 - Ongoing

**Project Summary**: Semgeeks targeted several broad demographics in their efforts to create a digital presence for a restaurant group using Facebook Ads. Recently, they’ve extended their services to PPC work on Google.

**The Reviewer**
Marketing Director, Restaurant Group
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 51-200 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Nov 6, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The team’s services proved to be helpful to sales after one of their campaigns led to a 16% increase in revenue over the previous year. Experienced and empathetic, they learned about the company and suggested areas for improvement in campaign efforts. Their audience segmentation skills added value.
"“They’re evolving with the products, trends, and algorithms that are constantly changing in their industry.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing director of a restaurant group that operates 12 properties. We run 11 restaurants and one event venue.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Semgeeks?

We didn’t have much of a digital presence: our websites were outdated, and we lacked digital strategy. I started working with their company on website work and PPC strategy.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with Facebook advertising. There’s something for everyone with our restaurants, so it was challenging designating an audience to target. They worked with us on crafting messaging for our several different target audiences, providing us with direction on how to find them and how to use our budget to engage them with our content. In that effort, we tested content with different audiences to get our name in front of as many people as possible in the most effective way. We’ve recently started with PPC efforts through Google.

What is the team composition?

There were likely about eight people working on our projects, between our website work and PPC.

How did you come to work with Semgeeks?

When I first started at the company, they were the existing vendor. I know they received good referrals locally to organically catch our attention.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $30,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in November 2017, and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Audience segmentation was a real benefit to working with them. They were good at keeping an eye on campaign performance and making recommendations along the way, so we could maximize our dollars. In terms of metrics, our sales come in waves in this industry, so it can be difficult to pinpoint one thing that demonstrates their impact.

However, we do a March Madness campaign to encourage people to come to our establishments to watch games. We noticed a 16% increase over last year when there had been little to no advertising. So, they were able to identify and build an audience of people who enjoy college basketball that helped us draw customers in.

How did Semgeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

They are clear with communicating expectations and accurate with their timelines. Their team is particularly knowledgeable in their field, so they’re always providing us with best practices or a solid strain of logic to inform what we’re doing. If there was anything I was unfamiliar with, they explained why we needed to take action to ensure everyone was on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always learning and growing. If they have new knowledge to share, they’re willing to jump in and try something new. They’re evolving with the products, trends, and algorithms that are constantly changing in their industry. It’s been great to rely on them for that inside information on Google and the digital market.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything at this time. We’ve only scratched the surface in terms of their capabilities based on our needs. I know that they’re capable of much more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They laid the foundation of our project plan, and there were no surprises. Their team can handle it.

#### Web Design & Logo for Health & Safety Consultant
**The Project**
- Services: Web Design
- Project size: Less than $10,000

Principal, Assured Health & Safety Solutions

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Oct 25, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The client has been in business for one year and attributes part of that success to Semgeeks’ web work. The team delivered a simple, high-quality website and logo on time and at reasonable costs. Throughout the process, they stayed in communication and navigated business needs with ease.
""…it was very helpful to have a patient, understanding partner to figure out what I needed."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the principal and owner of Assured Health & Safety Solutions. We’re a health and safety consultancy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Semgeeks?

We’re a new business, so I needed a logo and a website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I first showed Semgeeks some websites of similar businesses in my industry and at the same size. That way, they had an idea of what safety consultants do, including the type of work and specialties within the industry, and could organize my website appropriately. Semgeeks took the project from there.

The website—built in Wix—is more informational than transactional. People can learn more about my services, read my blog, and contact me through the site.

What is the team composition?

Pete (Marketing Director, Semgeeks) is my main contact to get information about what I was looking for and to exchange edits back and forth. There’s a person who put the website together, a graphic designer who worked on the logo, and the accounts payable person for billing.

How did you come to work with Semgeeks?

Being a brand-new business, I didn’t know what was needed and what to look for. I knew I wanted a third-party provider to make my logo and website in order to make my company look professional and larger than a one-person operation.

My daughter knew the team at Semgeeks and recommended them to me. I considered a few other companies based on who other people in the safety consulting business had used. However, Semgeeks stood out to me because they were positioned to work with my needs as a small business owner and not lose me in the shuffle.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $4,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from February until May 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I started with no business, facing the costs that every startup has to pay to get started. Now, we’ve been in business for over a year with a positive cash flow, and I’m earning a decent enough salary to continue doing it. That’s a testament to Semgeeks’ work in getting me visibility. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from people praising my website and given lots of referrals to industry peers asking who did it.

How did Semgeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

Semgeeks was really easy to work with. They were laid-back but also serious about getting things done and looking professional. We communicated via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The ease of working with Semgeeks impressed me the most. They’re extremely responsive and quick to understand our requests. As someone who never started a business before, it was very helpful to have a patient, understanding partner to figure out what I needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of.

Any advice for potential customers?

In general, when working with any outside partner, be specific about your needs. However, Semgeeks was able to understand my business and what I needed even when I couldn’t put it into words. Still, providing details is helpful for any relationship with a contractor.

At our sandwich shop, we offer a sub above – one that’s measured in more than inches or seconds ‘til served. We carefully consider every aspect of what we do – every slice, every sandwich, every store. We provide our customers with sustenance and substance too. I'm a Multi-franchise Owner

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire this vendor?

Digital marketing, PPC, and social, web design, and web development

What were your goals for this project?

We approached Semgeeks seeking a comprehensive digital marketing and branding strategy for individual franchises. the partnership was twofold:

promote new franchises and increase in-store traffic
develop a portal for potential and current employees to log into for application, scheduling, and other company services

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

through due diligence

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

Web development: It began with the website. Franchisees needed an area to keep Human Resources affairs in order, so we developed a website that also served as a login portal for potential and current employees. This login portal allows us to keep track of new hire applications and manage employee schedules, the policy guide, and more.

Social: We created a social marketing promotion plan to build individual franchises’ following on Facebook and increase in-store traffic. The campaign encouraged users to share exclusive offers with their social media followers. Each franchise that ran the promo saw anywhere from 750–1,500 in-store transactions from the social marketing campaign. These hyper-targeted campaigns around individual franchise locations allowed marketing dollars to be tracked in the most effective way.

Creative: To complete our full digital approach, we utilized PPC marketing campaigns to increase in-store traffic, and ultimately, our bottom line. Working on Google’s Display Network, we showed visually engaging banner ads to a targeted demographic, enticing them with coupons and offers to get them into the store. For those who didn’t convert at first, they continued to see our brand message in front of them on a multitude of other websites through the power of remarketing. Staying top of mind to customers helped our franchises increase brand awareness and boost ROI.

What was the team composition?

The team is their greatest strength and they continue to answer every challenge with innovation.  it is impressive to watch them work the problem.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

With our updates to the website, we have a more effective and user-friendly system to approach onboarding and business management. Our social media campaigns not only expanded our online presence, but it also brought new customers to our franchises and inspired them to return. Semgeeks’ integrated approach helped a multitude of our franchises become one of the most recognized brands in the U.S.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it? Did you use any specific project management tools?

Project management is one of their core principles of success and is well balanced throughout each client engagement

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They take the time to understand the unique buyer personas per location and operational profit center to layout a strategy of solutions for the long and short term.

Are there any areas where they could improve?

No

What did you find most impressive about them?
Their design expertise, their ability to meet deadlines, and their flexibility all stand out. They're also reasonably priced.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything they should do differently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Establish clear, measurable objectives to achieve your goals. Once they understand those objectives, they will propose a strategy to meet your needs.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief communications and corporate development officer for a helicopter provider based in NYC. We do sightseeing tours and have a 300-mile-radius charter service.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Semgeeks?

We hired Semgeeks to manage our digital and social media marketing.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Semgeeks developed our WordPress site and integrated Checkfront. They also implemented a chatbot service. The team now maintains the site, which is our e-commerce platform as well as marketing hub and landing page for most of our clients.

Semgeeks develops ads and runs our PPC campaigns. They oversee our social media outpouring on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. They provide SEO, ensuring that we appear in Google searches and manage our rankings on sites like TripAdvisor and Expedia. The team tracks our marketing results and makes changes as needed. They also create all of our content.

What is the team composition?

Olivia (Account Strategist, Semgeeks) is our main point of contact. We work with 6–7 other team members.

How did you come to work with Semgeeks?

When I joined my company, they had already signed Semgeeks onto a year-long contract.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The website is very good. They completed it in a reasonable timeframe, and the design was very well orchestrated. The chatbot ensures that our bounce rate is low. Also, by tailoring social media posts, they target influencers and groups, and we’ve seen a lot of positive results from that.

Users often comment on how easy the website is to use. They appreciate the customer service. A lot of backend issues arise with Checkfront, but Semgeeks does a great job of getting around those; their webmaster comes up with creative solutions.

How did Semgeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve worked with several other marketing and PR teams, and I’ve never had a liaison as intuitive, knowledgeable, and organized as Olivia. She oversees initiatives from creation to implementation to tracking the results. She’s one of the best professionals I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

The team is readily available and accommodating of last-minute needs. They work with us to change initiatives or provide recommendations if certain plans aren’t going as intended. We communicate via email and weekly calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They maintain a “the client is always right” mentality. They’ve never been combative; even when we express our opinions, they’re respectful and work with us to solve problems. When you give them a website initiative, they follow up and work with other parties to complete it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

**Feedback Summary**: SEMGeeks is consistently proactive, organized, and on the cutting edge. The client now captures key search terms and has a comprehensive understanding of SEO and other best practices.
""They always meet or exceed our expectations in terms of deliverables."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m one of the partners of First Equity Mortgage. It is a licensed residential mortgage company located in New Jersey.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with SEMGeeks?

We were really looking for help with our online presence from an overall marketing standpoint. We were also developing an online platform to generate business leads from people searching for mortgage-related products online.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

SEMGeeks provided 3 services for us.  First, they helped us fully develop our company website. The one that we had was really not that great; it was not that up-to-date. They overhauled the whole thing and created a new site. From a branding and marketing perspective, they really gave us a fresh, updated look. The new site really explained all the products and services that we offered.

Additionally, SEMGeeks helped us with 2 online campaigns to generate business. One was to help us manage our PPC campaign. It was a campaign for homeowners or potential homeowners that were searching online in New Jersey for loan programs. They helped run banner ads so that people would find our site and our information.

SEMGeeks also helped us through some SEO marketing, allowing us to gain a presence on Google. For example, if somebody searched for a renovation loan in New Jersey, they got us. For certain terms like that, we were showing number one on Google organically, meaning we didn't have to pay for it. The PPC and the SEO marketing was really what they did from a lead standpoint.

How did you come to work with SEMGeeks?

I don't remember exactly, but I know it was definitely a referral. It might have been that one of our employees knew SEMGeeks personally. That person probably heard good things about them from other companies who had used them.

Initially, we had come across a couple of companies in our search. A couple of people had recommended SEMGeeks while somebody else recommended another company. We had several conversations with SEMGeeks and we felt really comfortable with them. They were able to answer a lot of our questions appropriately. It was a little tricky because a lot of this was language that we didn't really understand. SEO marketing and pay per click were all really new to us. SEMGeeks helped explain all the different channels and way you can market yourself in a really comprehensive way. That's what got us really most comfortable with them.

How much have you invested with SEMGeeks?

We probably paid $10,000 to $15,000 for the website. In the past 2 years, we spend an additional $1,500 to $2,000 on a monthly basis.

What is the status of this engagement?

We're still working with them on certain things. The development the website was a one-time project. I've got to be honest; I don't remember exactly when it was that they did that. If I had to guess, I would say they did that work about 2 years ago. We've continued to use for SEO marketing and PPC since then.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The fact that we've continued to use them speaks volumes. I probably couldn't give you exact numbers off the top of my head, but we were very happy. They definitely delivered the results. For the SEO campaign, we showed up exactly where they said that we would. They got us to number one on Google searches.

We get monthly reports from them for both campaigns. The reports show all the statistics, where we ranked the previous month, where we rank now, and where they intend to have us ranked.  For PPC, they would show us  a breakdown of the cost per click and conversion rates. We could actually see a lead come through and things like that. They had definitely met our barometer, I would say.

How did SEMGeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

Now we're in the stage where what they're doing isn't deadline-oriented. But any time we wanted to kick off a new campaign, they would always immediately send out meeting invites. SEMGeeks would get everybody on the same page and do a call with all the necessary people from their side. They are always available.

With the website, they laid out a very specific deadline. They explained how long it would take to get it all done. If there were any delays, they were probably more on our end as SEMGeeks needed certain content from us to build out the site. When they got what they asked for, they moved everything along according to schedule.

What did you find most impressive about SEMGeeks?

I had zero understanding of online marketing or lead generation. They fully educated me and kept us up to speed. They're very much on the cutting edge of technology, what's working and what's not working. They take feedback very well. Anytime I needed to say, “I don't know if this is working,” or “We're not satisfied with this,” they always took it seriously. Other times, they would show us, through statistics that things were working. If it wasn't, they were always willing to go back to the drawing board and revisit things. Then they're just very proactive. They invited us to a meeting the week after next to touch base on our overall satisfaction. We’ll talk about the different campaigns we're running and if there's anything we think should be changed.

Are there any areas SEMGeeks could improve?

I don't think so, to be honest.

SEMGeeks assisted us with the initial positioning and brand development work. We were the naming partner that was hired to collaborate with them. They developed the back-end website design, including the SEO and SEM aspects of the rollout and website development. On this particular project, they were responsible for the overall brand identity, including the logo and wordmark. They gave input on SEO strategy and other considerations that would affect rankings. In terms of technology, I’m not exactly sure what back-end platforms they used to build the site, but it was remarkably fast.

Once a client hires our agency, oftentimes the other agencies they’ve hired aren’t always part of the process—upfront branding firms or back-end design firms. I’m not sure whether this was a requirement that the client had or if SEMGeeks wanted to be a part of everything throughout. They were just very involved with our part of the process. We were meeting them on a regular basis and corresponding by way of phone and email. It’s super helpful, too, because ultimately they were the designers of the brand and the website. It’s super helpful to folks in the naming business to get the perspective of the design folks on the names that you’re considering for the new company. That was the value that they added to a lot of the meetings. They provided the design expertise on the names that we were considering and talking about with the client. That was the nature of our initial collaboration with SEMGeeks.

Catchword is still in touch with the client and we continue to collaborate on an ongoing basis for all of their optimization work. It wasn’t just this one-off website development project. It may be a combination of website on-page SEO modifications and continuous updates. I’m pretty sure that they are doing some AdWords management on account of this client as well.

We also hired SEMGeeks for our own website redevelopment project, mostly from an SEO and SEM perspective. SEMGeeks did not do the actual design and development; we got their counsel and tapped into their SEO and SEM expertise. This was after we had already engaged somebody out on the West Coast, where our firm is based. However, we saw that our development firm made mistakes in our original website. If we had the money and engaged a firm like SEMGeeks from the beginning, we would probably have avoided those issues.

How did you come to work with SEMGeeks?

SEMGeeks was engaged by this company to help out with the upfront branding and positioning work. Then we were hired to collaborate with them. Our engagement was serendipitous because neither one of our agencies knew about the other agency until this client had brought us together. It turned out to be a really great relationship for the both of us.

How much have you invested with SEMGeeks?

For Catchword’s consult with them, we didn’t spend much at all. We spent under $1,000 to talk with them for our own site. They were extremely kind in how they dealt with us on a feed basis. It was very much in the interest of good will. They offer a much more affordable rate because they’re based New Jersey, not in Manhattan.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them for approximately 2 months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

From my perspective, it was a hugely successful deliverable. I’ve been in the business of branding for 25 years. I’ve seen a lot of work, a lot of designers, a lot of design agencies and SEO-type firms. I was super impressed with the website and branding that SEMGeeks had done. It was a remarkably deep, well-structured, and well-organized website. They developed a gorgeous site that’s extremely functional, fast-moving, and SEO-friendly. I think the site that they worked on was nominated for a Webby Award, which is pretty impressive. That speaks to the organization, layout, and visual appeal of the site. I think the awards are mostly visual; I’m not sure to what extent the SEO component is taken into consideration. The fact that it’s been nominated is an indication that the client would have to be pretty happy with that outcome. If anything’s a testament to how satisfied the client was with the work, it’s that they just continue to work with SEMGeeks.

I also thought they were really smart and very strategic in the way they approached the branding and the positioning work. What I liked an awful lot about them was how respectful they were of the naming part of the brand development assignment. They respected our level of expertise in this niche aspect of the branding world. That’s one of the reasons why we got along so well on a personal level. They’re just awesome people.

How did SEMGeeks perform from a project management standpoint?

Other than the project that we worked on together, I’ve had limited project management experience with them. They seem very well organized from a project management and team organization standpoint. We had a series of phone calls where they were advising us as we rolled out the website. That was our occasion to engage them directly, just an initial personal consultation. They were extremely responsive and very articulate. I think that they’re great communicators. I communicate with them on a regular basis for various things. Sometimes, it’s related to our own business, while sometimes it’s for potential clients that we’re recommending them to. SEMGeeks was also very well-balanced. They always had a broad team in place for whatever it was that you were talking to them about. That’s based on the people that were always copied and included in emails and meetings. They’ve worked extremely well with us.

What did you find most impressive about SEMGeeks?

What impressed me most was their ability to balance captivating visual design with being SEO-friendly. On one hand, SEMGeeks knows the importance of SEO and having sites that Google will look favorably upon. At the same time, there’s a strong visual appeal that is going to wow customers that land on the site. That’s what you’re looking for in a website development firm, not just somebody who’s got great visual vision. You need a partner that can balance that with top-level SEO counsel and design a site that achieves both of those goals. That’s exactly what their objective is. It’s their focus and it’s exactly what everybody should be looking for. That’s why SEMGeeks is now my go-to agency when I have a client who’s coming up with a new name for a company. I’d recommend them if it’s fairly certain that the client’s going to need an identity and ultimately a website to support the company. After the technology branding project, we’ve had the opportunity to recommend them to other clients. Frankly, we were impressed with their team, creative work, and smarts.

Are there any areas SEMGeeks could improve?

Honestly, if I could think of something, I would tell you. I really can’t. I’ve enjoyed all of our communications. I’ve enjoyed the work that we’ve done together with this agency. I really, honestly can’t think of anything that I’ve discovered needs improvement at this stage.
