We needed to turn Jam Tours Africa into a polished, trust-building digital platform that clearly presented our Kenya relocation, travel, real estate, and business support services. Segue Interactive has handled the full website build for Jam Tours Africa. Their scope has included brand positioning for the site, UX/UI design, responsive web development, service and product pages, lead capture forms, consultation inquiry flows, blog and resource pages, legal policy pages, and payment setup for our paid offers.
The team has designed the full public site, built the frontend and backend, set up the main content structure, and created the pages for our services, courses, resources, blog, policies, and contact flow. They’ve also built the inquiry forms, checkout/payment flow, product and service detail pages, mobile-responsive layouts, and the overall user journey for people interested in relocating to Kenya, booking support, or buying one of our offers.
We’ve provided the business direction and service information, and they’ve turned it into a working platform.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The biggest measurable outcome is that Jam Tours Africa has gone from having a scattered online presence to having a working platform clients can use. Segue Interactive has helped us launch eight paid offers, including relocation courses, consultations, VIP relocation support, real estate tours, business setup, airport pickup, and the 6-Day Nairobi Experience.
They’ve also set up inquiry capture, online payments, product pages, service pages, blog content, resource pages, and policy pages. That’s given us a clear way to present our services, collect qualified leads, accept payments, and direct clients to the right next step. It’s also made the brand look more credible for international clients researching Kenya relocation, travel, real estate, and business opportunities.

What impresses us most is how well they understand the business behind the website. They don’t only build pages; they help organize our offers, clarify the customer journey, and turn Jam Tours Africa into a platform that feels credible for international clients.

There’s very little we’d change. If anything, we’d like more training documentation after launch so our team can make small content updates faster on our own. The project itself has been handled well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve successfully launched a complete website with a clear buyer journey, responsive pages, and working RFQ/contact pathways. This gives us a live platform to track qualified inquiries, buyer engagement, and future traffic growth.

Since the site just launched, it’s still early for hard numbers, but we’re already seeing stronger buyer engagement and a more professional first impression, which gives us confidence that qualified inquiries will improve as traffic builds.

We’re currently tracking buyer engagement through contact form submissions, WhatsApp, and email inquiries, and basic website analytics such as visits, page views, and interest in key pages. Since the site is newly launched, we’re using these early signals to monitor demand and improve the buyer journey.

We’re aiming for a steady increase in qualified RFQs, more WhatsApp and email inquiries, and stronger engagement on the key mineral and contact pages as traffic grows.

Segue Interactive understands the project as a serious B2B minerals export website and translates that into a credible, professional online presence. They've built the site from scratch with a strong structure, making the buyer journey clear and easy to follow.

Moreover, they’re responsive and proactive, which makes the process smooth and keeps the launch moving on time.

Nothing major. If anything, a slightly more detailed handoff of the final site structure and content update process would have been helpful.

We hired Segue Interactive to design and develop an MVP for a Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society (SACCO) / Group Savings mobile app aimed to serve the population with low internet penetration and low financial provision.

We had already worked on an Agritech Mobile App in late 2019. So we already had some experience working with them.

We had a series of discovery meetings within a week, then created a wireframe prototype then moved on to development.

Key Deliverable: They delivered the first sprint in two weeks and were we able to demonstrate an MVP to the stakeholders and got feedback to improve on it.

Technologies: We used android studio, Java, MVVM, Persistent storage, and Push Notifications.

Right now we have 5 SACCOs each with 100-1000 SACCOs and 50 other traditional saving groups. And it's been approximately 1.5 years since we acquired our first customers. It’s been a long since we had any technical problem, and when we did, their team was always willing to spend a week to anchor the product to the right trajectory.

Most of the communication was done over slack and WhatsApp. We met on a zoom call once a week for progress check in.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were more than willing to iterate the UI a couple of times to get it to work well with end users.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There weren’t any standout weaknesses, however, there can always be room for improvement in each engagement and when we developed the app in 2020-2021 they did not have a dedicated project manager on the team. I would recommend they have one on their next project.

They’re currently working on accomplishing the updates, and we’ve scheduled the app’s relaunch soon.

Segue Interactive was able to deliver an MVP in 3 months as they had promised. Though we haven’t gone fully in the market yet, so there are no quantifiable metrics to share at this point. From our perspective, Segue Interactive has cooperated well with our team to address technical issues and implement changes to improve the efficacy of our platform. Upon our launch, we plan to gauge their team’s performance through the user feedback and the number of downloads we’ll secure.

We mainly communicate via email, phone calls, and Zoom meetings. Segue Interactive has phenomenal project management skills — they’re always willing to accommodate our queries and concerns.

I find the entire culture of their organization impressive. They’re product-oriented people; they don’t just develop software, they think about what they’re building while trying to understand our business. They’re partners that truly want to make sure our product was successful.

There are always little things to improve on, but overall, I’m very satisfied.

Within one month of launch, we had onboarded 1000 teachers across Kenya. Most of them loved using The Riara TPD app and we rated 5 stars on google

The project manager was easy to get to even on a weekend. We communicated mostly through Slack, Zoom, and Whatsapp sometimes. Meetings were uniformly done every week to check the progress unless there were other issues to discuss in between.

Their knowledge about UX/UI was appealing and we were satisfied by their active communication throughout the project.

Defining the agenda of every meeting could be of much help in swift delivery of a project of this kind.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

On the first day, we received over 50 downloads where users were mostly happy about the app. We mostly got over 4.0 reviews and some good feedback which Segue Interactive is still working on around the clock. In our recent update, users are generally positive about our e-commerce platform.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager used to communicate to us with progress details at least thrice a week by phone or email. The communication was increased to daily when we were nearly launching. I was generally impressed by the team's timelines though the deadline was passed by 2 weeks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their good communication, responsiveness, and delivery speed are appealing. We loved our collaboration on the project, especially with the product design guy. He recommended the best tips to make the app work better in Somalia.

They did everything okay but there is some need to improve the app to work well in the Somali context in terms of looking at the data faster.

deliverables? We had been rejected by Y-Combinator 2 times in the past 2 months but after the new design launch we passed the YC interview and became part of YC 2022 with $500k pre-seed funding. After a few months of growth Mungai is still available to jump on a call and recommend measuring and scaling strategies.

Segue Interactive presented UI/UX Designs for the desired platform after a week and development started. The Rider Mobile app was done in Java(Native Android) and The Dispatch system in Laravel PHP. Segue Interactive was available to come to our office. They have delivered the project within a month and a half, which gave us time to measure the outcomes and adjust.

We were able to launch the logistics platform within 2 months. We have seen an 85%(35 mins) decrease in Turn Around Time per order, 60% Increase in daily completed orders and the logistics department has become more transparent.

We were pleased by their project management style. We were communicating through slack, emails and WhatsApp sometimes. Backlogs were being logged on Jira. We also used Notion for notes.

We had direct access to the whole team and sometimes they agreed to come to our office 2 days a week to fine-tune some details with our internal team. This made it easier to communicate and find solutions together.

They are quite great. Over a year later we are still working together on system upgrades.

While the team was knowledgeable, they were a bit spread thin on the QA side. However, they were very responsive whenever we pointed out bugs, so the experience was positive overall.
