Red Egg was hired to redesign a new website for the museum, but before that could be done, they developed an entire brand strategy and style guide so the museum could maintain the look and feel across platforms. The website came out beautifully (it even won two Web Excellence Awards). Not only does it function fully as an online ticketing and merchandise purchasing platform, but it also integrates with our onsite sales seamlessly. The project let the museum optimize their SEO efforts (which Red Egg also manages) and social media ads to drive traffic. In addition, they were able to carry the new designs into a monthly newsletter that reflects the museum accurately and has a 50% open rate!

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

AMWA’s marketing efforts focused on targeted social media ads and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). 

·         AMWA’s ads were seen 763,000 times.

·         They reached 140,000 people.

·         There were 11,231 clicks to the website as a result of the ads and improved brand awareness.

·         The ads had a 1.5% click through rate showing good interest.

In addition, the new website design won two Web Excellence Awards, The newly designed electronic newsletter has a 50% open rate.

They delivered on time and on budget! They are always very responsive to our needs. We even contract them to do the day-to-day website maintenance, like adding new events and merchandise, as well as ongoing SEO and social media advertising.

The way they learned so much about the Museum, the art within, the company culture, and how we wanted to grow and change over time. They were able to translate that into a verbal and visual language that we can all use to communicate about the museum.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We researched different companies online and met with a couple other marketing firms. We appreciated Red Egg's attention to detail and taking their time to understand our company and our needs. They were flexible and provided options for our new website.

We started off with an informational call with the owner, Ryan. He was very accommodating to our needs and promptly provided a proposal for our project. Once we signed on to work with them, we scheduled a meeting with their team to talk about our branding and get a feel for our company and our ideal customer.

As soon as the branding guide was complete, we met with them again to go over all of the details and gave us opportunities for any edits and questions. Then we got started with the website build out. This started with a site map, then copy for each page, content for each page and review of a mock up site. At each step of the way, they gave us time to provide feedback and input. Then once everything was approved on our end we went ahead with launching the site!

We worked with 3 different people directly. Ryan E.- Owner, Angie Q.- Marketing Manger, and Alyson R.- Graphic Designer. Jacob L., their Web Developer, helped create our website, but we didn't work with him directly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We just launched our new site about a week ago, so we don't have any specific data to share. We have gotten great feedback so far. We also feel it has done a much better job showcasing the variety of services we offer than our previous website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Red Egg was always very communicative, updating us each stage of the process. They were also patient with us while we created content for the new site and giving us ample time to review their progress.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their attention to detail, ability to create a customized website within our budget and building a relationship with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No areas of improvement that we can think of.

I’m the co-founder and managing partner of H1H2 Capital, a Boston-based real estate investment firm. We help individuals with alternative investments in real estate.

What challenge were you trying to address with Red Egg Marketing?

We needed help with developing our branding and website. As finance people, we don’t have a great eye for design. We knew where we wanted to go, but we didn’t know how to get there. Thus, we hired Red Egg to help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Red Egg has helped us design our branding, including our logo, fonts, and color palettes, and they’ve also built our website from scratch. Initially, we were bringing on a professional athlete, so we needed them to build our website fast so that we could show validation about who we were. Thus, Red Egg helped us develop our website in less than a week.

In addition to developing our website, Red Egg helped us put together a 30-second video and place it at the top part of our page. This is a full HD lifestyle video that shows what we do. It also has areal shots of Boston, Nantucket, and other places we invest money in.

Red Egg also helps us with all our design work as needed. The deliverables have included filters for our social media pages — including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn — PowerPoint presentations, one-pagers, infographics, and more. Additionally, they provide website maintenance.

For every project, we give them direction on what we expect for the outcome, and they provide us with various options on how to get there. For the most part, we lean on them for ideas, design, and execution. Basically, we go to them for every need, and they take care of it so that we don’t have to lift a finger. Then, we simply send them a check at the end of the month.

Four years have passed since Red Egg built our original website. Over time, we’ve brought new people into our team, so we’ve recently decided that it’s time to update our website to include some of our new teammates. Red Egg is now helping us with the redesign project.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Ryan (Owner), Alyson (Lead Graphic Designer), and some other people from Red Egg’s team. Alyson is the person we work the most with.

How did you come to work with Red Egg Marketing?

I found Ryan on LinkedIn and liked the content his agency showed — I thought it aligned well with what we were trying to do. Then, I sent inquiries to about 10 different agencies, including Red Egg, and Ryan got back to me within 30 minutes. Some agencies didn’t reply, and others told us that they didn’t have time for our project. However, Ryan showed real interest in working with us.

In addition to that, they presented a great model where they explained exactly what was needed to accomplish the project so that we didn’t have to worry about paying a monthly fee or spending a lot of money and not getting what we wanted. They ensured that we would get what we were looking for before paying them anything.

We’ve spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Red Egg has done a fantastic job at getting us from point A to point B while describing the journey along the way and guiding us in making joint decisions. They’ve built out a whole strategy with us, ensuring that every outcome was exactly what we were thinking it would be.

Before working with Red Egg, our website had a very high bounce rate, and the conversion rate was miraculous. Moreover, we didn’t have many people finding our website because we’re in a highly regulated industry by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). However, since working with Red Egg, we’ve quickly converted visitors into leads. Now, at least 80% of our visitors have become leads, a result unheard of in the industry.

We’ve also started showing the new website design and received great feedback about Red Egg’s work, so we’ll probably push a lot more business to them. Moreover, the video they created is very compelling and shows clients the market we care most about and the market they would be investing in if they joined us. It is my favorite piece.

How did Red Egg Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Red Egg is the best in project management; they keep us in the loop every day. Still, from a project management standpoint, they don’t need to do much because they’re very efficient. Basically, they’re a turnkey agency that offers white-glove treatment, and the velocity at which they deliver projects is impressive. 

The other day, we asked them to create social media filters quickly. Within four hours, they provided us with the designs in transparent files so that we could upload them seamlessly, and we requested no changes because the designs were perfect. 

Moreover, Our website redesign was supposed to be launched on March 1st, 2023 — it was supposed to be a six-week project. However, Red Egg has flowed through the project so seamlessly that I believe the site will be done by the end of January 2023. It’s crazy how quickly they’ve worked.

Ryan is fantastic to work with. He’s very soft-spoken and does a great job of listening to our needs. We’ve always felt that we’re the only client he’s talking to at any particular time. I can always text or call him at any time, and he always responds.

As for other collaboration tools, they use a project management one with my business partner to show progress. Additionally, we use email as our main communication tool. My inbox is always filled with updates from Ryan or Alyson.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Red Egg has very talented developers. Usually, it’s very hard to find someone to take the client’s vision and make it a reality, and it’s also hard to find people who listen to their needs. However, Red Egg does a good job on both fronts, so I’ve actually referred them to a couple of friends, family, and business owners.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything Red Egg could improve on. We usually move from companies very quickly if they don’t perform as we need them to. The fact that we’ve stuck with Red Egg for so long means that we haven’t found anything negative about them at this point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you give them enough detail, Red Egg will build anything for you, so ensure to give them as much detail as you can.

Red Egg works on a range of projects including SEO and PPC campaigns. Their team uses Google Analytics and conducts its own analysis. They send a monthly statement that keeps us informed about our rankings.

Their team also helps us with automation. They’re my go-to team for anything technical.

They created a newsletter that their team continues to manage. Once I give them a topic, Red Egg conducts research, writes the content, and develops the graphics. They also direct messaging on our social media. Their team manages our presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

I’ve worked with at least four people from Red Egg. My primary contact’s Ryan (Head Egg). Angie (Account Manager) manages all of our social media activities.

About five years ago, we worked in the same coworking space. I actually became friends with Ryan and Angie prior to working with them.

We ask all of our clients how they found us. A significant portion finds us on Google, which I largely attribute to Red Egg’s SEO efforts.

As it’s my preference, we mostly communicate via phone and email. Occasionally, we get together and meet face-to-face.

Red Egg always delivers. Their team always accomplishes what they promise to accomplish.

No, not at all. It would be great if they could make Google cheaper.

Clearly tell them what you want. You’re more likely to get what you want if you know what you want.

I’m the head of community at eVelo Properties. We’re a real estate developer and property management company. We do residential, co-working, office space, and retail. I primarily handle the co-working spaces.

We originally brought them on to do marketing for our coworking space. Now, they do marketing for all four of our company’s branches. We needed to get leads for the coworking spaces, apartment, townhomes, and condos.

They handle all of our digital marketing including our website, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads. Right now, we’re working on a campaign for the local neighborhood. They’re creating door hangers and other marketing collateral.

We work collaboratively. First, we have a brainstorming session to bring ideas to life. We explain what we’d like, and they come back to show us what they’ve come up with. Together, we make edits. As for the website, they’re handling everything, and we’re providing feedback.

They’ve been amazing. There was a quick increase in leads from the second we started working with them. Their team has a great awareness of what we’re doing. They’re all-hands-on-deck and creative. They hit the ground running with anything we need.

The Red Egg Marketing team is easy to work with and full of really good people. They do a good job of following up. They take it upon themselves to achieve whatever we ask and make it happen.

Project management has been great. They’re easy to get ahold of. Just the other day, I sent an email about a marketing idea and received a phone call from them in 30 seconds. They’re receptive to feedback and send us monthly reports. In-person meetings are useful for checking in.
