I’m the founder of a company that provides payroll software for small and medium enterprises in India. We also offer a lending platform, where employees can get loans from partners and financial institutions.

What challenge were you trying to address with Reckonsys?

We needed a development partner to help us build our platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Reckonsys was involved from the start and created the first minimal viable product (MVP). They handled the entire tech stack and architecture design. We used Django Python for the backend and JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the frontend. Our database is PostgreSQL, we’re hosted on Amazon Web Services, and we’re using an RDS load balancer.

The biggest factor for us was offering the product free of cost, so we wanted Reckonsys to build a low-budget system in terms of hosting and infrastructure. They kept that in mind as the architecture was designed. Furthermore, the UI/UX was developed exclusively by them; it’s a clean and easy-to-use interface.

The platform also serves for employee engagement. We have a Facebook-like where staff can share, post, and comment on anything.

What is the team composition?

We had a team of 6–7 people that included a lead tech, who managed a UI/UX designer, two frontend developers, and three backend developers. Since it was a long-term engagement, the team fluctuated all the time.

How did you come to work with Reckonsys?

I was originally the only member of the company and I was looking for recommendations from my network of friends. Someone referred Reckonsys to me, and when I spoke with their founder, I realized what he could bring to the table.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent between $10,000–$12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from February 2017 to March 2018. The initial work lasted six months and they provided support for the rest of the time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve gotten positive feedback from investors. The product is simple to use and we’ve had 3,000 companies sign up on the platform in a very short time. The features they built provided a really nice and vibrant work culture for our partners, at a minimal cost. People can post and maintain open communication within their organizations, which wouldn’t have been possible any other way.

How did Reckonsys perform from a project management standpoint?

We were happy with their performance and responsiveness. We generally used Trello for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The experience that their founder brought to the table was extraordinary. He’s familiar with different technologies, so he was able to choose the most suitable architecture for us. Our priority was to keep the cost low, so they suggested an architecture that could facilitate that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They had a small team when we started working with them, but they’ve hired new staff and scaled very well. Their documentation process has also improved.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I would definitely recommend them, and I have. A friend of mine was very happy with their work. Their development quality is good and their costs are low.

I’m the co-founder and president of Vndly, which is a platform and marketplace for workforce hiring and recruitment. We are designed to provide a common platform for beginning to end contracting and full life-cycle management.

I needed an MVP for our product, and to go beyond only having a proof of concept (POC).

What was the scope of their involvement?

Reckonsys developed an end-to-end MVP  for our product. They created the wireframes, prototypes, UI/UX design, HTML, and data models. Their team has integrated API technology with external systems for us. The infrastructure is set up on AWS, and they developed it using Python and Django technology. They deployed the product for the testing phase by their QA team. Reckonsys is continuing to help us with development and testing for user experience.

What is the team composition?

Around 18 people are working on the project. Reckonsys provide a project leader, developers, and teammates who work on various other elements.

How did you come to work with Reckonsys?

They came as a recommendation from a mutual peer. I spoke with them several times to understand their experience and capabilities. After this series of interviews, I decided they were right for my vision, and we began working together.

We've invested around $300,000 so far.

We began working with them in April 2016, and it's an ongoing engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because of the MVP they built for us, we were able to prove there is a market for our idea. In addition to giving us confidence in our business, our users have loved the appearance and UX of the product. We’ve received positive feedback, so far.

We are consistently in touch throughout the project, and we primarily use Slack and WhatsApp for communication. Their agile project management style is flexible, and we use Jira to keep our requirements and documentation organized. We had daily meetings to touch base during development, and the process has evolved over the years.

They take complete ownership over their work. The Reckonsys team has integrity in what they do, and they go above and beyond to meet our needs.

Adding only the best talents to their growing team would help strengthen their company as a whole.

It helps to over-communicate your vision to them, so there is a strong, mutual understanding of what needs to be accomplished. Doing this will help Reckonsys prepare their team with the right people for the project.

The scope of work executed for our project was extensive and covered the full spectrum of software development, including both front-end and back-end development, as well as the design and deployment of our website and mobile landing pages. The primary objective was to develop an email warmup tool/web application that enhances email deliverability for our users. This project required a deep understanding of email protocols, user experience design, and scalable cloud-based solutions.
