What was the scope of their involvement?

Reckonsys managed the entire development process for our web-based SaaS product. Their team directed the full suite of development and built the platform based on the concept that we had in mind. We began development from the UI/UX stages, mapping the process and user journeys. Their team designed all the screens and user flows for us. From there, they developed the product completely—frontend and backend. Their team developed the frontend chatbot that allows people to make sales inquiries and prequalify sales inquiries. They built a chatbot builder into the backend so that we can build chatbots for our customers. Their team also implemented a sales pipeline tool to manage sales inquiries as well as a reporting tool that enables users to report on sales.

The development team's managed by our main point of contact who's experienced. I’m always able to get in contact with him. Also, the owner of the company’s on hand if I need to discuss the project in more detail.

How did you come to work with Reckonsys?

I found them on Clutch where they had good reviews, which led to us making the initial contact. But for me, the decision came down to Sathish (Founder and CEO, Reckonsys) who's experienced. He worked in the US, so he had a lot of experience in different markets. Unlike competitors who agreed with what we said, Sathish also had insight into what we wanted to develop. In the initial stages, he gave us a lot of ideas and direction. His team included a mix of people with abilities to design our product and make it look beautiful. They also had hardcore developers who could make the product strong enough to scale for thousands of users.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in July 2019 and the project’s ongoing. We’re launching version one of the product hopefully in February. After that, we’ll work with Reckonsys on a retainer basis for ongoing development and support.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their team over-delivered on what we outlined in terms of the product specifications. They flagged a couple of features that wouldn’t have been able to scale, which their team rebuilt at no extra cost because they wanted to build a world-class product. They were flexible and took ownership of the project. We're really happy with their work.

As well, Sathish has been available at any time. Since we're a company without a CTO, he guides us. He’s available to have conversations with us about scaling and mapping the product into the future, which we wouldn’t have been able to have without him.

How did Reckonsys perform from a project management standpoint?

The development's done in sprints and every sprint has been delivered on time to date. That’s helpful to us because we’re not just answering to ourselves but also investors. We’ve been able to visit the team, so they’ve been flexible and transparent about their work. Their team provides project management tools, so we can log bugs and communicate with them on a regular basis. They fix issues fast. If we have to hit a deadline because of a demo, they push hard to hit the deadline. Their communication's excellent. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Finding good development companies overseas is like finding a needle in a haystack. Reckonsys and their experience are fundamental to our success. It's hard to find someone who’s willing to guide you when you aren’t a technical individual. Reckonsys isn't the cheapest option but the money's well spent.

I’m the founder and CEO of Golden Sherpa. We are a platform that helps adult children aged 45–65 with aging parents find senior living options.

We hired them to develop our platform and multiple functionalities within it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were initially brought on to help build our MVP prototype. Once we finished working on the prototype over the summer, we hired them to do the whole scope and fully built out the MVP. We provided a wireframe, but they helped us with it.

They constructed the community search function for retirement communities, which was the main part of the app. There is also a portal to develop a knowledge base for users and take surveys to see which communities would be good fits. They work with an agile design methodology.

What is the team composition?

On the development side, we had a team of six people. There were two developers.

How did you come to work with Reckonsys?

One of our co-founders had worked with Reckonsys before. We were looking for an MVP prototype that I could show communities.

How much have you invested with them?

It was under $60,000, and that was quite affordable.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the MVP in June 2018 and finished in November 2018. The work is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Through our partnership, we successfully launched the product in August 2019. In the first month, our platform received 4,760 pageviews. We also had a substantial number of unique visitors, growing from 2,900 to 6,298 in just two months. Our bounce rate was only 29%. We do have someone working on SEO optimization for us. I’ve been very happy with the build and the scale.

They were very good at hitting deadlines and notifying us if there was anything amiss.

How did Reckonsys perform from a project management standpoint?

We work with them in Jira and InVision. We met with them three days per week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very keen and have worked with many different platforms. If you’re an entrepreneur and you have an idea, they can tell you what’s happening in the market and the future. If you develop your platform with them, you’re already ahead of everybody else. They can take your idea so much further, which is great when you’re starting out.

When we starting the development of the MVP, they advised me to spent a lot of time on the prototype. They walked me through it and made me think about how I wanted it to look when I was going to be out presenting it to people. That meant that when we got funding, we didn’t have to spend a ton of time developing it. Through the agile design process, I got to take little pieces out of it to make sure we were on the right track. From what I’ve heard from other entrepreneurs, this experience is quite rare.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. We have some tweaks with the project, but everybody’s been happy with the site. Any breakdowns occurred when we transferred from the old site.

As mentioned above the project is ongoing enhancement, bug fixing and monitoring of an existing CRM system.

The team consisted of a Django Python Backend Developer and a ReactJS front end developer.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The team has been able to develop many enhancement features in a short span. The quality of the work is very good and we are able to manage and enhance the system in reasonable cost parameters.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project management is essentially with us (i.e. the client). So we are provided resources as required and we need to manage the resources and schedule activities. Sometimes we may need expert in some other area, then he can be engaged as per requirement.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their developers are high-quality. We are able to manage the project within the cost and budget. If required other resources like AWS, etc can be involved as and when required.

Are there any areas for improvement?

One area of possible improvement, is active local project review. Since the team and the client sits in different timezone, at times the teams may find disconnection. If internally from their office somebody takes review of activities once a week that will be great.

I’m the co-founder at Aley, an education startup. Our platform allows students/learners to capture the objectives, process, and evidence of learning. They can seek guidance from mentors and publish and showcase their learning experiences to share with their network or the world in general.

We had a low budget and needed help to develop the MVP of an app that could scale up.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They worked as our in-house technology team to develop our web app platform, which is a cloud-hosted solution. They also created iOS and Android versions of the app. They designed the UI/UX and the architecture of our program’s curriculum map.

Sathish (Founder and CEO, Reckonsys) gave us an analysis of what the issues and costs were when our transactions reached higher numbers in the future. He made sure that we took the right path using AWS. That helped us be prepared for scalability.

In June, we concluded the initial version of the MVP and they assisted with the production deployment. After the product launched, we started to collect user feedback, and they make changes based on that feedback. We have an ongoing maintenance contract with them.

With the app, we now have greater control over our product. Customers can easily connect with our platform, upload content, and share it via links. The app has yielded great results so far. Schools are happy with the look and feel of the product as well as its functionality. We haven’t had any complaints yet.

We first asked them to build us a WordPress website, which gave us good confidence in the team. Following that, we asked them to build us an MVP of the whole platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided end-to-end services, from UI/UX design to development and the implementation of a proper, scalable architecture. They’ve also performed testing, and the deployment to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. They’ve been helping us maintain the product on a continuing basis.

They used Django Python on the technology front. It was built as a web app, and we’ll develop iOS and Android versions soon.

We’re integrated with Razorpay as a payment partner. The platform is a marketplace, so we’ve completely automated the payment process. They helped us set that up from scratch and then to automate it.

I’ve dealt with Sathish (Founder and CEO, Reckonsys); he’s been our chief architect and handled the technology front. In addition, I deal with the project manager, and they have around four developers and other team members on the project too.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still at a very early stage, so I can’t share insights yet. We’re strong on the business front, and the technology is simply an enabler for us. The MVP has helped us step forward and attract around 2,000 users to our simple WordPress site. We’ve gotten positive feedback from beta users and investors.

How did Reckonsys perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been detailed in what they do—they always sit down and form a detailed structure of everything, module by module, before beginning. Those insights are excellent, and they’ve taken ownership of the whole system. Everything’s been very well done as they have a good methodology in place.

Satish was very helpful from day one. He sat down with us and listened to our vision to ensure that they shared that throughout. We’ve almost completed the development, but still, they retain the same intensity.

The speed at which they do things is quite impressive, but I think it could still improve. We’ve met all our deadlines, so I have no complaints, but their speed of execution could be much higher.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Reckonsys was involved from the start and created the first minimal viable product (MVP). They handled the entire tech stack and architecture design. We used Django Python for the backend and JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the frontend. Our database is PostgreSQL, we’re hosted on Amazon Web Services, and we’re using an RDS load balancer.

The biggest factor for us was offering the product free of cost, so we wanted Reckonsys to build a low-budget system in terms of hosting and infrastructure. They kept that in mind as the architecture was designed. Furthermore, the UI/UX was developed exclusively by them; it’s a clean and easy-to-use interface.

The platform also serves for employee engagement. We have a Facebook-like where staff can share, post, and comment on anything.

We had a team of 6–7 people that included a lead tech, who managed a UI/UX designer, two frontend developers, and three backend developers. Since it was a long-term engagement, the team fluctuated all the time.

I was originally the only member of the company and I was looking for recommendations from my network of friends. Someone referred Reckonsys to me, and when I spoke with their founder, I realized what he could bring to the table.

We’ve gotten positive feedback from investors. The product is simple to use and we’ve had 3,000 companies sign up on the platform in a very short time. The features they built provided a really nice and vibrant work culture for our partners, at a minimal cost. People can post and maintain open communication within their organizations, which wouldn’t have been possible any other way.

We were happy with their performance and responsiveness. We generally used Trello for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The experience that their founder brought to the table was extraordinary. He’s familiar with different technologies, so he was able to choose the most suitable architecture for us. Our priority was to keep the cost low, so they suggested an architecture that could facilitate that.

They had a small team when we started working with them, but they’ve hired new staff and scaled very well. Their documentation process has also improved.
