Our project was delayed many times on our end, which caused them to have to halt and wait for us, and their project team was very patient and understanding through all of it.

We needed a partner to build a robust and secure frontend to our database, allowing our customers to access our large database of companies and navigate the filters.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered on time and on budget. Rapid Dev took the time to understand what we were trying to deliver to our customers and built a product that did exactly that; they delivered pixel-for-pixel what we asked for.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

They were highly professional. One of the best parts of working with Rapid Dev is that they’re highly communicative. At no point did I feel like I was being kept in the dark; they explained every part of the negotiation, contracting, and building processes in great detail. Throughout the project, they maintained a constant flow of communication that made it easy to understand their status. They immediately reached out if they had questions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’d highlight the high-touch nature of working with them. Rapid Dev treated us like they’d treat any large company, even though we were a two-person company with a low budget. Their rapid and constant communication made them a pleasure to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, any limitations were a result of the platform we used.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Give back what Rapid Dev gives to you; the project worked best when I communicated with the same frequency as them. 

Also, be super clear about your request. The more specificity you can give about functionality, security, speed, storage, and UX/UI, the less room there is for dissatisfaction.

Our initial MVP specification was too large to successfully deliver within the project timeframe, and ultimately had to be reduced mid-flight. Estimation is an understandable challenge for many development groups, but it would have been more helpful if the risk for in-flight cuts had been better communicated at the onset. And to be clear...this is purely constructive feedback. RapidDev navigated this situation very professionally in-flight.

I am the Founder of content management platform aimed at saving and sharing restaurant recommendations.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rapid Dev, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a Minimally Viable Product (MVP) mobile app to give users the ability to save, organize and share their restaurant recommendations. The goal was 1. to keep the functionality to just the required features 2. keep the cost within budget and 3. produce a functioning app within two months.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed a number of development groups and were looking for a development group who shared the same vision and could execute based on our provided needs/requirements, within the budget as well as time frame. We decided to find a no-code development group as this was the most cost-effective and timely way to achieve our goals and produce our desired application.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had initial discovery calls aimed at ensuring we aligned on the 1. required features 2. timeframe 3. pricing and 4. to ensure Rapid Dev was approaching the project as our PARTNER not simply as another project to check off. After we aligned, we determined precisely what the key deliverables were (mainly features) and had weekly status calls to discuss progress, updates, road blocks and general ideas/thoughts. The main technology used was Bubble (APIs sprinkled in).

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily worked with two resources on the Rapid Dev team - Matt, the Rapid Dev CEO, worked primarily as our point-of-contact for the initial scoping as well as throughout the project to ensure the project was meeting deadlines and was to our satisfaction (everything was!).

Eduardo, one of the Rapid Dev developers, would provide the weekly updates on the app's progress and was the primary developer on our project. Both were fantastic to work with as the communication was fluid, concise and the Rapid Dev team were able to digest our comments/feeback/thoughts into tangible features. Great work.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The primary measurable outcome was a working app in the app store within two months of the project starting. This was a stellar outcome and we are excited to continue to iterate and build off the foundation Rapid Dev built for us!

A combination of Loom and excel were used to provide updates and keep track of action items and features. We would have weekly calls with status updates consistently coming in throughout the week as features were added or questions arose.

The ability of Rapid Dev to digest our idea/thought/feedback and implement or change a feature within the app in a timely and clear manner. This enabled us to meet our deadlines and avoid confusion or road blocks.
