We wanted to deliver high quality service to one of our major clients and make sure to provide seamless development despite the tight deadlines.

We got a list of requirements from the client and Bstorm team performed against it in a few project stages. The main task was to develop a 360view of an apartment for the smart home solution

Bstrorm team consisted of a web developer, QA and a project manager. A designer was engaged for a small part of the project

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The client was very happy and we continued working with Bstorm for further development updates

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project management was arranged in a way that we had the Account Manager on the agency side, and there was a PM on the Bstorm side. They coordinated the project. Client requests were coming in a chaotic way, so it was the most challenging part, but it worked out ok at the end.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I find them very professional when it comes to development

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement both on our and their side, but overall impression is very positive and we will certainly continue working with them

I am a CEO of mBrainTrain LLC - company working in the field of research and medical research devices. Our primary expertise and solutions are related to mobile electroencephalography (EEG), which is an established method of brainwave recordings. Established in 2012, mBrainTrain is among the pioneers in this domain, and has clients from more than 30 countries on 5 continents.

For what projects/services did your company hire Bstorm?

We hired Bstorm to create a test mobile Android application that was to show, in real time, emotions extracted from EEG in relation to the music that was presented to the individual (participant).

What were your goals for this project?

This application was to serve to demonstrate mBrainTrain technology to potential partners and investors, in relation to newly developed headphones that have the brain-recording capability (Smartfones: https://mbraintrain.com/smartfones/).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We knew about Bstorm through shared contacts/friends and had the idea on the scope of their expertise, primarily in the domain of mobile apps. (We also knew one of their consumer apps that is still pretty popular).

Describe the project in detail.

mBrainTrain previously developed Android-based application for recording brainwaves using EEG. With our new product, we had a way of "invisible" brain recordings - we integrated sensors in the headphones.

To be able to demonstrate its worth, we needed a real-time application. The connection with mobile phone was via Bluetooth. There had to be a way to make sure the sensors are in place and adhere well before moving to the visualization part.

In the latter (visualization) - the real-time algorithms for EEG processing were used to extract features that we visualized. These features corresponded to emotions and other mental states.

Upon reaching this real-time part, it was necessary to be in control of the music list (play, pause, move to the next song) and record the files together with metadata for subsequent analysis.

What was the team composition?

Formally, the team was composed of one backend programmer which was more full-stack in hindsight. I have the impression that there was some advice on UX coming from the team as well, but that was not listed (we provided the first version of UX but it was iterated).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was a success overall - we managed to get exactly what we were looking for in the timeframe that we needed it. This solution was demonstrated to 2 local companies, out of which we have active negotiations with one, as well as one of the major companies' research facility in Scandinavia.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a seamless communication - starting with very good understanding of our needs. We didn't have instances of delays or any kind of inconvenience. We feel we have payed a fair price and that time tracking (without official logging) was also to our satisfaction.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We found the expertise and flexibility combined. Upon running into challenges, and on several occasions, we had their programmer come and work from our office so that the communication is faster and more efficient. We feel that they are goal-centric, without much care for administrative overhead, which worked perfectly for us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

On occasions we asked several times about accessing/adapting the lower Bluetooth layers and affecting the stack...We still didn't manage to find a proper solution, but it may be related to the operating system...

The project has 5-7 people working on it I believe but we deal mostly with our project manager, the lead developer and the founders.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

To date they have completed our basic Wordpress site and are currently building our community platform. When this launches in a few months we will be able to share the impact on our business but we are quietly confident that this will be successful.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We have one project manager with whom we have daily contact. If we need to have more technical discussions, we have easy access to our lead developer. We find this has served us well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We have had an excellent working relationship with Bstorm. They are knowledgeable and are great advisors without being patronizing. They have a great deal of knowledge and business acumen and have helped us to see blind spots so we could improve our offering and the business model.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At the moment we can't find any fault with our relationship with Bstorm and so far the output has been fantastic.

Bstorm is a known player in the Serbian IT software service market and with a respected project portfolio. We got a recommendation from our software service partner from that region and after their presentation, we arranged work on this project

Build a native iOS and Android clients that will enable users to access their AppsCo password manager and their assigned company applications. Connect native apps with AppsCo API. Enable users to login with different IDP like Google and Active Directory or authenticate with their credentials.

What was the team composition?

Project manager, 1 iOS developer, 1 Android developer, and UI/UX designer

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Project completed in the agreed deadline, with desired output based on the provided specification and without any flows or bigger bug issues.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. We managed the project using the following stack: JIRA, Slack, GitHub. Project executed with no major issues

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Knowledgable and open-minded technical team. They grasped our idea very quickly, initiated great feedback regarding UI/UX improvements, shared valuable ideas on technical improvements and executed on expected level. Daily updated and seamless communication always at the top of the game. Great work

CorporateVIP is a discount and benefits application that links merchants in several verticals (Restaurants, tourism, retail etc) to employees of SMEs and Corporates to facilitate rewards, discounts, and incentives on a subscription basis. A way for a company to reward and offer perks to employees.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager and his team from the wireframe scoping all the way through to build and future development.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have now been in business for four years since our first meeting with BStorm and we are growing to this day.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As a company, despite being based in different countries, we had experienced zero problems in communication or workflow. Everything was delivered accurately and on time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am most impressed with the communication as this is in my mind the most important aspect of project development.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can say that there could have been room for improvement on our side as a company not being able to provide information on what we wanted and then changing our minds on aspects of the build which made it harder for BStrom to time into scheduling. However, with their flexibility we were able to achieve the results we wanted.
