I am the CEO of an online fine gold retailer. We also offer network marketing opportunities.

What challenge were you trying to address with ProTechGenie?

I needed help with developing my website and back-office software protocols.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed my website, from the software, retail platform, and compensation program to the IT infrastructure. However, a U.K.-based designer worked on some elements. Because we’re an online retailer, they’ve integrated acceptance and processing of credit cards through our banking system, along with the acceptance of cryptocurrency. That last part isn’t live yet, but it’s ready to be brought online.

What is the team dynamic?

I’ve worked with the same 2 contacts since the beginning of our project.

How did you come to work with ProTechGenie?

They were recommended by a colleague whom I’d worked with at a previous company.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost has been around £30,000–£40,000 [$39,319–$52,425]. Since they are based in India and I’m in the U.K., there has to be a level of trust in the relationship especially for invoicing certain tasks. I feel confident that they’re honest in their approach, and I haven’t felt overcharged.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2015, and we have an ongoing relationship. I have a service level agreement with them that features certain stipulations.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything in my company is a result of their work, so I have no comparison points. While I don’t solicit feedback from users, I guess they would be quick to react if they were unhappy with something. Apart from small issues, I’ve heard very few comments.

How did ProTechGenie perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve never let me down, and they’ve worked terrific hours. I can send them a Skype message and Raj, the founder of the company, will pick it up straight away or within a few hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are committed to the project. They’re doing whatever it takes to maintain our working relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since it’s a U.K. website, there are certain design and copy elements that should be improved. While I’m nervous about the timeframe for the current project, they haven’t let me down yet, so I can’t complain.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Set up a service level agreement from the start and determine what the deliverables will be.

I am the CEO of a presentation search engine. We connect presenters with their viewers in real time.

We needed them to develop our product.

What were your goals for this project?

We were at the prototype development stage.

How did you select this vendor?

They were referred to me originally. They had built projects for me in the past.

Prior to starting the project, they wanted to know the full scope. They then submitted a written project layout before they coded anything so there were no mistakes.

What was the team composition?

The project manager assigned to our project is very very knowledgeable. He knows what he is doing; he's one of the reasons why all of my projects with them in the past have worked out so well.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They understand the flow of the type of sites we want; this means that once we launch, the normal conversion rate of one signup becomes 5 new signups. I attribute this to the questions and work they do prior to beginning any project. They really know what they're doing.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our teams have always worked very well together. Their communication before they start the project is really refreshing. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have so many impressive traits: their knowledge, coding skills, communication, on time deployment of the project, and commitment to maintaining the site.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wouldn't want to change anything.
