I'm a digital marketing consultant and founder of Vizmatic Marketing, which specialises in Google and Facebook pay-per-click advertising. My clients often require updates or new WordPress websites to enhance their advertising efforts.

I was recommended by a friend in the SEO industry who had a very positive experience.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Preface Studios took the specification/content document and created a design mockup and then provided me and the client with an inVision clickable prototype. We were able to review the designs and make decisions with them. We had two rounds of revisions within the budget. Once the designs were signed off, they moved into the development. They took a copy of the live site and worked on a staging version. All the changes were successfully implemented for desktop and mobile. The new content was integrated into the WordPress setup so the client could edit in the future. They also carried out updates to the WordPress core and the plugins. The client also asked them to make content updates to existing content on deeper pages.

We worked with the Operations Director, Creative Director and one of the Developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

A decrease in bounce rate and an increase of goal completions via the page was observed within days of being implemented. The SEO friendly page structure has also increased organic search visibility.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project flowed well. There were no issues. Communications was clear and often.

Attention to detail during design and development. They always made positive suggestions to improve the content.

I’m the head of digital marketing at Oktra, the UK’s leading office design company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Preface Studios?

We wanted to create an outstanding first impression, so we needed to build our site from the ground up while keeping SEO in mind. My company hired Preface Studios to refresh our website and improve our SEO.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Preface Studios redeveloped our site, which had originally been built with Joomla, and migrated it to WordPress. They implemented various WordPress plugins to optimize speed and help with SEO, such as Yoast. We did a lot of responsive testing.

The Preface Studios team used different types of development software, and they helped add optimization software. They also integrated a layout builder functionality. WordPress’s functionality makes correctly tagging headers quite difficult, so Preface Studios provided us with custom functionalities to enable more advanced optimization. They also added JavaScript animation features and an office space calculation tool.

My in-house team did the SEO and PPC, and Preface Studios helped to optimize everything we asked for help with, such as content layout.

Once they completed the site, they helped me transfer content and site authority from the old site to the new one. We still have them on retainer, and they’re currently working on other projects for us.

Preface Studios has exceeded our expectations. Our request-a-callback is up by 400%, and our guide downloads and other conversions have improved by 70%. We’ve seen a load-time reduction of 5.8 seconds, if not more, and a 30% increase in site traffic.

How did Preface Studios perform from a project management standpoint?

Preface Studios is great to work with. They’re quick to respond; when I call them, they answer or call me back right away. The owner is personable, and I speak to him a lot. We communicate through face-to-face meetings, telephone, and email. It feels like a partnership with them, and we’ve overcome any difficulties that we’ve had.

The team is very honest about whether they can do something, and they constantly want to improve the services that they offer. They approach us about new software releases and suggest what we should add. They’re constantly developing and innovating, which is really nice.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a vastly broad range of skills that encompass everything from highly technical web development to project management. They’re the best WordPress agency I’ve ever worked with. For the website, they went above and beyond and added valuable aspects we hadn’t planned for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re honest about what they can do. If there’s something they don’t know how to do, they find out how to do it, and then they come back with a brief and ask for my feedback. We work as a team and complete tasks together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Test their skills. Go in with a brief that is better than you think possible, because they will probably be able to do it. Think of them as a partner, not just a company. They become a part of your DNA and help you improve weekly.

I’m the president of GSA (the Global mobile Suppliers Association). We’re a nonprofit industry organization representing companies across the mobile ecosystem engaged in the supply of infrastructure, semiconductors, test equipment, devices, applications, and mobile support services.

We needed to hire an external resource to totally reconstruct the GSA website, as well as add new features and security.

We wanted to increase the usability of the website to get more registered users and increase the number of downloaded reports.

We looked at past reviews for local companies that are not too large, which we thought would deliver good value for our money.

Preface Studios rebuilt the site from scratch, and now host it as well. They suggested a number of designs for the home page UI. They made a simple tool to upload and define categories for new reports, and an analysis of document downloads. They update the existing mobile devices database for better output and analysis. Then they add new databases for mobile operators, networks, spectrum, and technologies. They also provide SEO advice.
