Within 3 months after launching the new version of our mobile app, it's easier to use for our customers and they were happy with our application as well.

They worked Agile/Scrum Methodologies and we have communication every day in working time hour via Slack, Jira. Zoom also is used when we have a meeting

Their developer's skills blew me away. I was happy with them because sometimes I have restricted requirements but they got my thought and given me the best solution.

Status report sometimes was later than usual but it was still good.

As an online learning platform, we entrusted Powergate with developing a website & a mobile app  that is well optimized in terms of speed and user experience.

We were looking for a team based in Vietnam to cut down the overall costs, and found Powergate via Google Search. It is highly ranked in many aspects and most importantly, it has considerable experience in our industry.

Once we agreed on our partnership, we held plenty of meetings to discuss our requirements, our goals and objectives. After everything was clear to both sides, we signed a budgeted team contract. The teck stacks used included :

I had direct conversation with their CTO and one project manager via Slack and email. The budgeted team consisted of three developers and one QA tester.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The web app runs smoothly and we receive fewer complaints regarding the speed issues. More notably the app began driving more traffic compared to the last version before PGS started working on it.

Our customers also impressed with  mobile app, the operations on mobile app are extremely fast (seems to take less than 5 seconds)

We connect via Slack and email. Communication was great most of the time as I received detailed weekly reports from them. There were regular meetings between our people and Powergate team to make sure everything was on the right track.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their knowledge and experience in e-learning were probably their key competencies. That was also why I chose Powergate in the first place. Also, they impressed me with the strict agile approach and close attention to details.

No complaints so far.

We hired Powergate to fix a huge blunder from a previous software company that we initial used to develop our MVP product. Powergate was responsible for re-designing & developing our MVP PWA Web site. They were charged with developing both the admin site and the front-end user site. By doing this, we were hoping to get a much cleaner and functional site for our MVP.

We searched online for software/Mobile/Web developers from various parts of the world and came up with about 6 that fit our criteria. We interviewed all the candidates. After multiple back & forth with PowerGate, we chose them because of their past projects, their experience in developing in our sector, designing skills, and cost estimate.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals, expectations, and objectives. From there, the team quickly assessed the old website & app. Made some recommendations on how they will fix and improve upon the current sites. They presented a well detailed strategy and had us involved in the whole process and it was done rather quickly. Within a few, sprints we began seeing some results which were far superior than what the past company provided us with. They developed both the Admin center site & User site rather quickly. They designed the site with our logo as the color scheme and they made excellent recommendations of plugins or other services to integrate into our site and they were knowledge and integrating them (Paypal, Stripe, Cloudflare etc). The developers knowledge on Azure, MySQL, Github etc was very impressive. The final product for both the Admin Center & Front end was done in less than year.

A project manager was our main point of contact throughout the process. He was very accessible and drove the project smoothly and kept us inform every step of the way. There was also 2 developers and at times only 1 but we never felt the project was slow.

Clients love our new site. The deliverables have been met and we like want was given to us.

In the beginning we would have weekly stand-ups but within a month, we changed it to 1 stand-up prior to the next development stage. During the stand-up we would discuss will be accomplish in the next sprints/development and address and questions or concerns. Once, there was an agreement, the PM would communicate with the developers and off they went and developed. If there were every any delay or they need more detail information anything else that arose they would quickly engage us. We used Slack, Jira, GitHub, MS Teams for File Sharing & Meetings to coordinate and get things resolved.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very efficient in managing the project and providing exceptional quality of work. The communication and response was impressive as well. They kept us informed at each stage of development or if they needed something. They would communicate it effective and in addition, also understood what wanted without many back and forth.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only improvement is at times we would find limitation to 3rd party software or solutions after we integrate part of its functional. If they can improve on identifying those issues prior to development it would reduce un-needed wasted time.

I was looking for a team in Vietnam specifically to save myself time based on geographically affordable development, and Powergate was recommend by multiple sources as reliable.

Our architecture was already developed in node and our mobile app was poorly maintained with legacy software before we began working with Powergate.

Powergate redeveloped our app for modernization and maintainability, and began maintaining and improving our server's codebase, and assisted in researching and migrating core services related to our app's primary function to separate 3rd party vendors, resulting in an overall cost reduction.

I've worked with several project managers and dozens of developers on multiple different projects with Powergate.

We have had a significant reduction in support tickets / customer services issues after launching our redeveloped app with Powergate.

Communication is at your own pace, but generally we communicate successfully over slack. Geographically, face to face meetings (via zoom) are inconvenient as they work during my late evenings, but this has proven to not be an issue at all after we learned how to work with each other thru very detailed slack write-ups.

Occasionally zoom calls during a late evening will be required for clarification, which is to be expected with any international dev team to collaborate anyways.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They will do their best with limited direction. They usually provide multiple options as well as timelines and cost associated to those options.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes the english language barrier is a little challenging, like grammar for basic error messages or alerts will be incorrect and follow into production if not addressed specifically during your own testing process. It's a minor inconvenience, but you should also be vigilant in testing your own product before it goes into production anyways.

Just don't forget to notate those issues, they will always fix them immediately - there is just no way for them to identify issues like that if you don't point them out, so it's not fair to blame them for it.

We had spent most of our time in the scoping stage, which was really helpful to nail down the details of the specs. Their use of agile project management also meant that we can see the build-out of the software and test the software at multiple milestones even for a short project like this one. They utilize Slack and InVision as their main communication methods with us, it meant that information was delivered timely as well as giving strong visualizations before any real code was built.

We had a project manager and a few developers and testers on the account. I would say that we worked with 2 people but there were at least 5 people working on the project. The single-point of contact with a project manager in the background was a big plus in getting things done quickly and efficiently.

After the relaunch we noticed a 15% increase in usage, customers reported the faster response times and we're happy with the new website.

Agile development meant that we were constantly talking and had 4 milestones for a 6 week project.

They were on-time and very responsive throughout the process.

None that we can think of, bugs were minimal and quickly resolved within a week of the final milestone so we think this went as well as possible.

A tele-pharmacy for US market, helps doctors, patients and pharmacists text, email, chat or call in the way they communicate with their family and friends.

What were your goals for this project?

We supported coordinating patient prescription needs with their doctors and insurance plan. Unlike any other pharmacy services, delivery and auto-refilling program has made this application stand out. An mobile version of this app has made the process of immediate diagnosis much faster and attainable.

We needed a development partner for our app and website.

Once we selected this vendor, they showed us all benefits of mobile applications and offered best practices focused on mobile development. We also had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives.

After all requirements were elicited we signed fix price contract. Within two months the vendor introduced design, regularly demonstrated deliverables, and finally released ready to publish mobile app.

I consistently check the app in real-time, going in from the business admin side to create a company and running a campaign to see if it’s functioning properly. Everything has been working and passing all of my tests.

For the most part, communication has been excellent. They are very specific about what is done, and we recieved weekly reports from them. We often meet with everyone on our team from PowerGate Software

Their knowledge of health and wellness was their key competency. Their insight was valuable and the reason I would lean on them in the future. They understands the importance of helping clients reach their goals.

I think a former colleague told me about Clutch and actually mentioned the name Power Gate Software. We looked into them and had an interview call. For the price, they were willing to offer us the scope of work that was involved, and we thought they were the perfect fit. It’s also worth saying that we didn’t go with them at first. We had calls with three other similar companies, and we priced them out and had phone interviews. After all was said and done, Power Gate Software proved to be the right people for us.

Our former site was just horrific. In terms of new features, we have a video that plays when first landing on the page, there’s a “Contact Us” form, a page about us in the news and media, and users can get to our social channels from all pages. Power Gate Software completely overhauled our website, bringing in a fresh, proper design. Additionally, they’re also hosting our site.

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager, a copywriter, a designer, and two developers. Nevill Nguyen was always involved to make sure things were running smoothly, always checking in with us to make sure we were happy and that things were going well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our main goal is to increase sales and track it against the return on our ad spend, and they either maintain or move us forward in those areas. We’re seasonal, so they keep fine-tuning the efforts but we rarely move backward. If anything, everything looks better all the time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They take care of everything, from our web positioning to the website management. We don’t need to do anything to manage the workload. They have full control over the management of our website. We meet with them in person as frequently as we can—I’d say it happens every other month. On a weekly basis, we stay in touch with them via email, and we call their office if we need them immediately.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

One thing I appreciated very much was that the president of their company called quite frequently to check-in, just to make sure that things were going well and we were happy. If there was anything we wanted to be different or that we just weren’t pleased with, he would be very quick to course-correct and make sure we were happy with the final product.
