I'm co-founder and president of AdvisorConnect Innovation Labs, a software development firm. We build custom marketing, sales, and consumer engagement technology for financial services firms.

They provided a thorough and detail-oriented process for software development, including sprint planning, MVP testing, review of data samples, and automated testing.

We had a team leader who oversaw and managed a team of five engineers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Compared to other software vendors we have worked with both in the US and abroad, Plutus consistently provides superior project management. They've introduced new tracking processes and even improved communication on our own internal engineering team. The team leader was competent and responsive.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the COO and head of product at a manufacturing software company. We deploy cloud-based software at factory sites to improve manufacturing workflows.

For what projects/services did your company hire Plutus Technologies?

Plutus Technologies provided software development resources, including mobile developers and full-stack software developers, to help us build a desktop and mobile application. Our application helps factory operators and supervisors go through digital checklists for assembly verification and quality testing.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals of the project were to build a robust, scalable enterprise application that would be able to receive inputs from many mobile devices and desktop consoles. We also needed it to update in real-time across cloud environments. This required real-time API calls and WebSocket functionality between mobile apps, backend systems, and front-end desktop browsers.

How did you select this vendor?

Plutus Technologies was recommended to us from an investor in the company. He mentioned they were great at building scalable applications using the latest technologies. We looked at other vendors but none had such a strong recommendation as Plutus Technologies.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They developed, configured, and launched our real-time mobile and desktop application, as well as provided bi-weekly updates to both applications as needed. This has become an on-going project, as our client requests lead to more features to be built. All development is managed through a software task tracking product that allows for bug tracking, agile project management, and code version control repository.

What was the team composition?

The team is composed of a technical project lead, experienced mobile app developer, two full-stack backend developers, and a QA engineer. Plutus Technologies has been very flexible with resource allocation based on the project needs.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project was critical to our business, as our largest enterprise clients are now using this application daily and migrated their manufacturing workflows to our application. We are now expanding to many other parts of their business based on the success of this project.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We managed the project via Jira to communicate effectively with all developers and quality engineers. We managed the code version control via Bitbucket, which was configured by Plutus Technologies for each code release. It was very effective, as we were able to update our application seamlessly every two weeks without app crashes or major bugs.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed with their willingness to accommodate and fix bugs at any point, even during odd hours. The technical lead is very diligent in understanding client requirements and added additional resources to adapt to client requests within an extremely tight timeframe.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The initial onboarding time for developers to understand client requirements can lead to some initial confusion. By working with the technical lead to add an experienced QA engineer on the team, we were able to quickly fix these issues.
