Night Shift Coverage: To better handle feedback and issues reported during nighttime, it would be beneficial to have a few employees working night shifts. This would allow for immediate attention to feedback and quick resolution, ensuring continuous support for clients across different time zones.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was successfully completed within the timeframe estimated. Because of COVID 19 situation, they were still able to manage and complete the project. They were also extremely helpful in researching the necessary requirements for the project and other important competencies for the full functionality of the application.

PWS has a fine-tuned project management style that includes access to the status of tasks of the project, assigned team members and status. We also had weekly touch points to help keep the project going and on time. Most importantly, the project manager made sure timelines were met and within budget.

Their flexibility and response time to questions, they provided detailed reports as well as detailed manuals and guides of the application after delivery of phase 1.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is always room for improvement for every organization and within every project. In the case of PWS, COVID 19 situation did not work in anyone's favor, but they still managed well and got the job done.

Planet Web Solution followed an agile development approach. The planning, execution, and evaluation was systematic and detailed, allowing each team member to be involved in the project.

Test cases were written before development code was done throughout the development cycle, allowing the development team to ensure the exact outcome. I was able to make the exact cost prediction and time completion duration of the project.

The Project Manager split the batches of work into smaller pieces and assigned tasks as per individual’s knowledge and expertise. The team generated relevant and accurate metrics for project planning and performance measurement. They focused on producing results, optimizing performance and taking data-driven decisions.

Unfortunately they have created the web and apps platforms, basically with lack of many advanced features to ease the operation and management. And although the solution is offered initially to Turkish audience, they didn't take in consideration the requirements and adaptions for that.

Now the solution still not completed and there are many things need to be modified and corrected, and Planet Web Solutions company team is not welling to support finishing them.

I have no idea who is doing what exactly, but most of the time I was dealing with the project manager assigned for project.

Our project still not completed yet by Plane Web Solutions, it was supposed to be completed in 4 months, but now after 1 and half year still we are struggling with this company

The vendor responded on January 2, 2019.

We had accepted to develop the website and mobile apps for the food delivery startup, and we completed the original scope of work (SoW) well within the committed time. The final result was supposed to just be an MVP. 

However, the CEO kept coming back with requests for new features he’d seen in other apps, thinking that it would help him gain a foothold in the market. Having worked with numerous startups, we knew how important it was to be accommodating, so we accepted a few of the requests, even though they were outside of the SoW. 

Eventually, we had to politely turn down the newer features, and some of the ones we were working on had to be trimmed down because the CEO wasn’t in the position to maintain funding. 

All the same, he kept pestering to include more and more despite us clearly communicating that we couldn’t go much further beyond the scope. We offered to prepare a detailed project plan at no cost for when he decided to upgrade in the future. We had to pull the plug as the beyond-the-scope discussions were taking too much of our team’s time.

Now, the CEO is blaming us for hiccups that we weren’t responsible for like he’s failure to share a domain name system (DNS), inability to follow log-in instructions, and insistence on using a shared server rather than a dedicated one (we explained that the solution needed to have a dedicated server or else it wouldn’t run).

My only suggestion is that they show more care with quality assurance and quality control during the final stages of development. Outside of the final stages, whenever we pointed out something that was overlooked, they were always very quick to fix the problem.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with an introductory discussion. I provided them with a file that illustrated our design ideas, and they responded with price and timeline estimates. We set up a series of milestones, each with a corresponding payment agreement; then they started working on the e-commerce site. It’s based on a Shopify platform. Their team primarily provided frontend development services, but they also implemented some of the backend functionality using JavaScript.

They completed their work on time, but we’re still preparing the site’s logistical elements before we launch it on the market. We’ve been doing some stress testing with the ordering system, and it’s been working well. Overall, the Planet Web Solutions Pvt. Ltd. team delivered a high-quality and stable platform.

They managed a smooth and transparent collaboration. When we requested changes, they were receptive and flexible. Their team was very eager to please, consistently doing more than was asked of them.

I’m most impressed with the depth of their development skills. With their expansive technical knowledge, they were able to create functionalities that we didn’t even consider.

Additionally, they provided Word Documents with guides on how to make changes to the site’s code. Now, if we need to adjust anything, we’re not completely dependent on them, and we can handle it on our own time.

No, I can’t think of anything. I was a bit cynical in outsourcing the work at first, but it turned out to be a great experience.

Clients should take it upon themselves to test the spacing and formatting in their designs before asking a developer to implement them.
