Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CPO for an AI software development company. I do product design and manage product development. We provide our customers an easier way to build AI. As part of that service, we need to provide our customers with a powerful way to manage their large inventory of image assets, store, retrieve and make sense of them.

For what projects/services did your company hire PixelTeh, and what were your goals?

Our challenge was that we had to develop the software and web portal experience from scratch. We had designs, but needed help implementing them. Our goal was to find technology partners we could trust with the front-end and back-end development. We needed contractors who could implement our designs, and also provide guidance and leadership on how to make the product even better.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were considering several vendors, but when Pixelteh offered not only developers, but also a larger team to could manage and advise on business requirements, and a technical manager to manage the team, that was the deciding factor that de-risked the relationship. Pixelteh has deep experience across multiple technical capabilities, and is a large enough firm they could scale with us as our needs changed. I am so glad we went with a team of people over just one developer.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We needed a home page, an asset library, an uploader, and a 'builder' experience where users could build reports online with assets from their library. The site was built with React and leveraged AWS services.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were four people on the team: a front end developer, a back end developer, a technical manager, and a project manager who was also an experienced developer and strategic partner. He helped optimize sprints, manage communication, and provide key insights that kept the project going smoothly.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The vendor was realistic and accurate with timelines, and deliverables matched and at times exceeded expectations.

The vendor was flexible in using our chosen tools for project management (Jira,) and we communicated via Slack and email as a backup. Though there was a significant time zone difference, the team was always responsive and available to meet when we were available to do so. It was a relief that the vendor was so responsive and self-directed. I could always trust the project was moving along and I never felt I had to micro-manage outcomes.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We're impressed with their technical skills, integrity, leadership skills, accountability, creativity, and honesty. It was a pleasure to work with them. It was great knowing I could bring not only my technical requirements, but also my questions and uncertainties. They came through with valuable, time-saving advice, even when it was to their disadvantage to do so. This is what makes this company, and they people who work there, special.

I’m the owner of a new company. We’re building a travel planning software.

What challenges were you trying to address with PixelTeh?

They’re building a web-based application for travel planning and making itineraries.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We haven’t launched the product yet. They’re currently working to develop it. Users can build trip itineraries, and it also facilitates the work of travel agents and concierges. It includes multiple unique and complex features. They’re building the front- and backend. 

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact that manages my account, and there’s another team member that manages their team. We have one or two developers working on the project, depending on our needs. Once COVID-19 hit, we went from two developers to one. 

How did you come to work with PixelTeh?

I found them on Upwork. 

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $60,000–$70,000 so far. I expect that we’ll spend another $60,000 before we’re done. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together for about 10 months, and our work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s everything and more than I dreamed it would be. I’m very happy with their work so far. I can’t describe the joy of seeing it come to life through their work. They’re also very cost-effective and have been accommodating when dealing with the economic fallout from COVID-19. 

How did Website Express perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very professional. Every day, we get a breakdown of the work they’ve done. We use Trello to manage the project and Slack to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is impressive. The regular updates and questions they ask help the project move forward seamlessly. 

They’re imaginative and innovative. There hasn’t been a single technical challenge that they haven’t been able to overcome. They’ve never told me something can’t be done. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. The only thing that is frustrating is that sometimes the process has been a bit slower than I anticipated. However, considering that I’m not a software engineer, I can’t fully appreciate the amount of time it takes to create these things. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

I recommend hiring them. I picked them out of hundreds of vendors I found on Upwork. They outshined the others because of their consistency and quality.

I am a co-founder of the company which provides services to the construction industry through a desktop and mobile app system.

We hired PixelTeh to assist in the design and programming of the system for which we had already built a pilot and functional specification.

What were your goals for this project?

To correct issues raised in the Pilot and enhance the system's capabilities to deliver the minimum functionality required by customers.

How did you select this vendor?

We had a recommendation from another company that had already had a positive experience with PixelTeh so we placed them a short list together with some other companies we had identified. We then selected PixelTeh based on their responses to our engagement with them.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The project was to redesign the system while enhancing the functionality. This meant redesigning the look and feel of the system so that the screens were easier to understand while being more attractive for users, and the logic flow improved within the system. Pixelteh did the design (graphics) and helped improve the logic, then did the programming.

What was the team composition?

There was a focal point (Bogdan) who funnelled all communication to other members of the team depending on who was handling which issue.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The system now is more attractive aesthetically and easier to use. Reliability of the geofence functionality has improved significantly and the system is now in test with commercial customers.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was managed through Trello once the initial agreement and functional specification had been agreed. Testing and iterative changes required were all done by email and WhatsApp. Response times were excellent.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Very responsive and clear communications which gives confidence. The company brought ideas to the table without driving the design process.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed a fully operational crowdfunding platform that uses blockchain. It needed to be responsive based on Ethereum smart contracts. The platform was the core of our business.

I searched Upwork for candidates with the relevant technical experience and an impressive portfolio by reading through positive reviews. I interviewed around ten applicants. Sergey (Co-Founder, PixelTeh) demonstrated all of our requirements as well as a quick understanding of the project and excellent spirit.

I started the engagement, providing Serg with a detailed MRD and wireframes. Later, I delivered the finalized designs. He was in charge of developing the project from scratch. He set up the environment, chose the coding languages and frameworks, designed the infrastructure and databases, and built the front- and backend.

In the beginning, we mainly worked with Serg. Toward the end of the project, Denis (Senior Frontend Developer, PixelTeh) joined him.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The finished product was the first major achievement of our business. With the solution now live, we can focus on the fundraising aspect of our startup and building traction.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their project management style was efficient. PixelTeh delivered work according to their estimations and on time. We used Slack, Trello, Google Drive, and Github for managing aspects of the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I would highly recommend PixelTeh.Working with Serg was an excellent experience. Serg is a professional developer that displays a positive attitude and ability to learn. He has broad technical experience and exceptional time management. He works faster than the average developer. Serg is readily available, easy to communicate with, and asks appropriate questions.
