The discovery phase included interviews with stakeholders and surveys of the general public to gauge interest in this type of app. After Perpetual processed those results, they started to create low-fidelity designs for the app. In the final stage, Perpetual created high-fidelity designs for the various pages that we requested. We already had user personas, but the team helped us refine them.

Perpetual’s project management was great. The team delivered the work on time and within budget. Perpetual was very helpful in explaining their rationale for different design decisions. The team was easy to communicate with through Google Meet, email, and Slack.

Perpetual has delivered unique designs and flows that align with the current market trends. The feedback we’ve gotten from users has been good.

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?
Perpetual has performed well in terms of project management. They deliver on time, and we have daily stand-ups to discuss their work. They also provide us with regular progress updates.

We primarily use Slack and Google Meet to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed with Perpetual’s methodical and organized approach. They are excellent at analyzing our users and competitors to know what would work best to reach our goals.

They’re a little expensive, but we’ve definitely gotten our money’s worth because of their good work.

What challenge were you trying to address with Perpetual?

We needed development services for a new website we were launching. Our goal was to have a good UX and match the design we had created in Figma. There are often differences between designing a product and building the code. We wanted a well-developed site that matched our initial designs. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I handled all the site's design in Figma and worked with Perpetual's developers to get the site up and live. We first created the site's designs, and Perpetual provided a team of developers and a project manager. We had an initial kick-off meeting and walked the team through our designs and how we wanted to approach the site. Perpetual built our site using Webflow. 

Our website had interesting uses for images. We had an angled image from our style guide that took some trial and error to implement on Perpetual's end. The site had other features like quoting tools to receive a homeowner's insurance quote and functionality to find an insurance agent.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Shreyansh (Lead UI/UX Designer) and Akshay (Senior Product Designer), who was responsible for Webflow development.

How did you come to work with Perpetual?

My company has employed me for a year, and they were already working with Perpetual prior to that.

Our budget was around $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working on this project in April 2024, and Perpetual launched our site in early July 2024. The team is still working on minor updates.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We received a lot of praise from our internal team for having such a well-put-together site. Our development process was smooth.

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

Perpetual communicated well with us via Microsoft Teams and stayed on budget. Perpetual's development time was very quick. We went from no designs to a fully functional website within three months. The team managed the project well and adapted to our approach. On our end, we used Jira to provide Perpetual with tickets and tasks to complete.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to shout out Akshay's work. He did a great job in development and went above and beyond to meet our tight deadline, which impressed me. It was easy to provide Akshay with feedback, and he made updates quickly. Overall, he was a great developer to work with. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Perpetual was very good at developing a website that was true to the designs. I was impressed to see the site looked exactly like my Figma designs. Additionally, Perpetual was good at communicating with us. The team got back to us quickly, and we never had to wait for them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything Perpetual could improve. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest working with Perpetual through good communication. The team will be able to deliver good results. Perpetual adapts to how you do things and doesn't have a rigid structure. If your company does things a certain way, the team is willing to adapt and won't push back too much, which is nice.

We were looking for a team that could help us completely redesign two of our existing websites and launch two new ones. We wanted the websites to be up-to-date and have a more modern look.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perpetual helped us redesign two of our existing websites and launch two new ones.

Moreover, they created multiple pages showcasing various aspects of our company. They created pages highlighting different insurance policies and coverages for homeowners, as well as pages for people to report a claim and find an agent. They also made an About page, a leadership team page, a blog page, and a resources page.

We launched the first two sites in 2022, but Perpetual is still working with us to provide maintenance support. They handle a lot of production support and any change requests we have.

After launching the websites, we’ve seen an increase in leads, traffic, and click-throughs.

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a strict timeline, but they’ve delivered everything on time and within budget. They also communicate well. For communication, we use various platforms, such as Jira, Figma, and email. We also hold weekly virtual calls via Microsoft Teams.

We’re very happy to work with Akshay. He produces great work — in fact, he’s managed to do a lot within the deadline we provided.

What challenge were you trying to address with Perpetual?

We didn’t have a website before this project. It was a crucial project for us because our website would be our portal to the world of companies and founders we needed to work with.

We wanted to work with a partner who could capture what made our firm unique and make us stand out from all the other venture capital websites in the world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perpetual designed and developed our first website for our new firm: nearhorizon.vc. The first step was planning how long the project would take, who needed to be involved, and what we needed to provide them to build the site. 

The second step was the design phase, where Perpetual created many potential designs in Figma that we iterated on for a few weeks. Then, they took the designs and implemented them in Webflow during the development phase. 

Lastly, we had some testing and bug fixing before we were all done.

Amish (CEO) was involved in certain phases. Matthew (UI/UX Designer) was the primary designer and the lead on the project. William (Marketing & Design Associate) did all of the copywriting for the website. Finally, we later met Justin (Associate Software Engineer), who was the lead engineer on the project.

It was an existing business relationship. I’ve worked with Amish.

We spent $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in the first week of May 2024. The project lasted six weeks and was completed on June 15th, 2024.

We’ll launch the website next week, so we don’t have metrics yet. However, Perpetual’s quality of work was fantastic; they exceeded our expectations.

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

We had an excellent project management experience all around. We communicated through emails, Zoom calls, and Slack.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

They all did a great job, but we’d give a shout-out to Matthew for the thoughtful design of the site, which was the most crucial part of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our biggest challenge in finding partners is that they don’t usually understand what makes our firm unique, so we end up with something that looks nice but doesn’t stand out. However, Perpetual took the time to understand what was distinctive about our model and what stood out, and they threaded that through the entire website.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project didn’t take long, but the only area that could’ve been smoother was the communication hand-off between the design and development teams.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Perpetual was great at working with us to ensure we defined success upfront. The better you know what success looks like before starting the project, the better the results will be.

I’m the co-founder of Native Ed, a nonprofit.

What challenge were you trying to address with Perpetual?

We hired them to build our website. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perpetual designed and developed our website using Webflow. They also handled all the branding aspects around it, including designing our logo, brand messaging, and brand identity. The team chose our color scheme and produced original artwork. Perpetual also trained me on how to use the website. 

Initially, we came to Perpetual with an idea, and the team helped us figure out how to make it a reality. The team gave us a layout of how the process would work. From there, Perpetual conducted stakeholder interviews; they interviewed my colleagues and me for an hour each to get our general understanding of the website and the project and try to understand what we were doing. 

Due to how our product works, it was very important that the site’s search function worked correctly. We also asked Perpetual to consider that we wanted to put many videos on the site. Since we’re a nonprofit, we also needed users to be able to make donations through the website.

Three teammates from Perpetual were at every meeting: a project manager, a teammate who handled the branding and web development, and another team member who handled the copywriting and research.

We spent around $35,000–$40,000.

How did you come to work with Perpetual?

I did a Google search that led me to Clutch, where I found Perpetual.

We worked together from February–May 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of Perpetual's work was beyond my expectations. They understood what we were looking for and translated that into a great website. Moreover, they were intellectually curious about our organization and did a lot of research on their own. 

The initial layout they gave us was really helpful since I had never done a project like this one before. Additionally, I didn't know about Webflow before, but it worked really well. We don't have any quantitative metrics yet because we're far from launching our site. 

Initially, we thought we would need to hire a specialized branding agency. Then, we found that Perpetual could include the branding as part of their service. Although we were a bit hesitant since we were unsure if they only did branding on the side, Perpetual turned out to be amazing at branding. 

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

They led a highly organized process. The team delivered weeks ahead of time and on budget. They didn't add extra charges when we needed the branding materials put together for another company, even though it was on short notice. 

Throughout the process, we had hour-long, twice-weekly meetings. Although the time commitment was high for us, Perpetual made steady progress. Along the way, they provided excellent communication about the meetings; they sent us an email ahead of time and another one after each meeting, reviewing what we had covered and what would be covered in the next meeting. 

Additionally, we used Slack and Notion for communication and project management. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Although the whole team was great, Matthew (UI/UX Designer) stood out because of how much he did for us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Perpetual went above and beyond; they did more work for us in several instances than we could have expected.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They couldn't have done anything better. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Trust their process. I initially wondered about some of their steps, like the hour-long stakeholder interviews. In the end, the interviews turned out to be very valuable. Ultimately, you should trust that Perpetual's team knows what they're doing.

I’m a program manager at Rock Paper Reality, an AR design agency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenges were you trying to address with Perpetual?

We needed an on-site team to help us test and deploy a 3D advertising and billboard experience we developed for one of our major clients. We had our internal remote team, but we wanted to see how everything in this project would line up in the real world, so we looked for a team on-site with strong capabilities to understand how a user would approach this experience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perpetual provided QA and user usability testing for an immersive geospatial billboard experience in New York’s Time Square. The team tested and deployed the experience by providing us with video content and running it in AR to show us some of the holes we had. They did this very quickly because we reached out to them on short notice and had a tight deadline.

The team also provided user research to see how technical and non-technical people would react and solutions to address every user better regarding deployment, file sizes, loading speeds, and graphical asset fidelity.

In terms of technology, Perpetual adapted to work within our proprietary platform. Nonetheless, the testing was via iOS and Android mobile devices using the Adobe Aero product stack.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Perpetual's team performed four on-site testing sessions with 20–30 tests with 20 quantitative and qualitative metrics that we wanted to reach. The team also drastically reduced the file size of the project we built and improved loading times.

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

Perpetual stayed within deadlines and on budget and was communicative throughout the process. The team also rapidly delivered upon our requests and was responsive via our Slack channel, email, and regular phone calls.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review? 

The whole team worked collaboratively, and as a team, they were able to move very quickly for us with a thorough and comprehensive approach, which was their real strength as a provider. I was not expecting to get that much work out of a resource I called late in the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Perpetual's work exceeded my expectations, considering they had little time to work with, and this was all thanks to their team effort. Overall, we felt like expanding our business with them going forward thanks to their quick turnarounds and reasonable costs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn't think there was anything they could improve on because they exceeded our expectations in a very short time, so all of our feedback for them was strongly positive.

Have a clear understanding of your requests, but also be open to their suggestions because they might suggest something spectacular.

Perpetual has designed a public marketing website, and we have a third-party host. The team has also worked on the redesign of our application and provided engineering support to execute that redesign. Perpetual uses Figma and Webflow on the design side, and on the engineering side, they use Webflow integrations for the marketing site and JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js for the application.

Perpetual has done a fantastic job on the marketing website, over-delivering on expectations given the amount of time and scope of work. On the application design project, our experience is similar. Perpetual has contributed beyond our expectations on the engineering side. The team demonstrates a lot of flexibility in adapting to our changing requirements, which is very valued by our team.

Perpetual has provided an appropriate price and executed tasks on time. The team is very responsive; before our engagement started, we mostly talked through video calls and emails. Now, we talk through Slack and video calls.

I started my company earlier in 2023 and needed somebody to help me build a professional website. I wasn’t good at creating a website, and my team members were all data scientists that worked on AI, so we hired Perpetual to help us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Perpetual worked on developing my website. I had an existing one, but it didn’t look professional. As a result, they offered to create another one from scratch. It contained an About page, an Offerings page, a Blog page, and a Contact page. We had many conversations about what I wanted, and they designed several pages based on our conversations. 

Moreover, we had a lot of back and forth and meetings. The team also provided ideas that I hadn’t thought of and helped me implement them. The key technologies they used included Webflow and Figma.

Their lead designer led the project, but I worked closely with an intern and another UI/UX developer. In total, I collaborated with 2–3 teammates.

I knew Amish (CEO) and reached out to him to talk about how he started his company since I was doing the same thing. We started the engagement from there.

Our initial discussions occurred in May 2023, and the project lasted from June–August 2023. The site hasn’t been launched yet since I’m still creating content for it. It will likely go live in September 2023.

I truly appreciated Perpetual’s easy collaboration and turnaround times. They were highly receptive to feedback. The team was even gracious enough to show me how to make changes directly on the website so that I could handle content better. 

How did Perpetual perform from a project management standpoint?

Perpetual met our deadlines and stayed within budget. They used a tracking system where they shared notes after our meetings; their members also created a Slack channel for us to collaborate easily. If we had to leave feedback for each other, we’d leave Slack messages. We used emails to communicate while I was traveling, but most of our conversations were on Slack and meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The entire team was great. They had good teamwork and were gracious, making sure that nobody dropped the ball. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any.

I’d be happy to refer Perpetual to anyone who wants to work with an excellent team. This team knows what they’re doing. They’re nice people to work with, and their teammates stick to the timeline, which is great.
