Interstate Wire carrys over 25,000 actice SKU's. Outerbox was tasked to develop thoughtful strategies to focus on the product families that drive meaningful revenue. In the early stages we had minimal budget to spread across all product families with an expectation of significantly increase our leads as a key deliverable.

Outerbox is taking 7 websites, which all live on their own platforms and perform extremely poorly, and bringing them into one ecosystem where we can track visits, leads, and conversions.  The team has been great in making sure our companies are taken care of, their brand identity is still there, and there are no hiccups in the process.

Still in progress, our teams are excited as just looking at the new designs and copy writing is a big step over what we had.  When they see the lead tracking when sites go live they are going to be blown away!

We wanted to grow qualified inbound leads through organic search and paid media across several of our business lines, including our restoration, logistics, and culinary divisions. What was the scope of their involvement?

OuterBox manages our SEO and paid media programs across multiple divisions of the business. On the SEO side, that covers keyword research and strategy, on-page and technical optimization, content recommendations and optimization for our service and industry pages, and ongoing internal linking and site improvements to strengthen our rankings over time.

On the paid side, they handle our PPC campaigns, including account structure, keyword and audience targeting, ad creative, and ongoing optimization to keep leads coming in efficiently. Alongside the execution, a core part of the engagement is measurement and reporting. They track leads back to the source through call tracking and form attribution, and they deliver regular, detailed reporting so we can see what each channel is producing and where to adjust.

Since we started working with OuterBox, SEO and paid media have grown into the primary driver of our inbound leads, generating a steady flow of qualified opportunities every month across our divisions. The most meaningful outcome for us is conversion, not just traffic. A strong share of the leads OuterBox generates convert into real projects, roughly one in four, which is a healthy rate in our industry.

Just as important, they built out lead attribution through call and form tracking, so we went from guessing at ROI to being able to see exactly which channels and campaigns are producing results. That visibility is an outcome in itself. It lets us put the budget where it actually performs. Years into the partnership, the program continues to deliver and has paid off many times over.

Organic search, in particular, has been our most efficient channel. Beyond the conversion rate, the bigger shift has been visibility into performance. With proper lead attribution in place, we can actually measure conversion by channel and campaign instead of estimating, which is what lets us keep improving the numbers over time.

Beyond conversion rate and attribution, we watch a handful of KPIs to judge performance:

• Keyword rankings and search visibility for our priority service and industry terms, which we monitor closely since organic is our most important channel
• Organic traffic to our service and industry pages, and how well that traffic is qualified rather than just raw volume
• Cost per lead on the paid side, which tells us whether the PPC spend is staying efficient as we scale
• Inbound call volume through our call tracking, since a large share of our leads come in by phone
• Lead quality, meaning the ratio of genuinely qualified opportunities to total leads, not just the top-line count

Taken together, these give us a full picture of whether the program is producing efficient, qualified demand rather than vanity metrics. Ranking visibility and cost per lead, in particular, are the ones we lean on most alongside conversion.

OuterBox's project management has been solid and consistent. We have clear points of contact, communication is steady, and deliverables like reporting and campaign updates come through on a reliable cadence. When we raise a request or shift priorities, they're responsive and turn things around in a reasonable timeframe.

On timing, they deliver on schedule, and importantly, they set realistic expectations upfront, especially on SEO, where they were honest that results build over months rather than overnight. That upfront honesty is a big part of why the working relationship has held up for years.

the UI for clickup is kind of terrible for clients - but that's not an OuterBox issue specifically. Lots of software like Clickup, Asana, or JIRA have enormous benefit for internal teams but once a client is exposed to "how the sausage is made" it becomes distracting & tedious to sift through yet another portal or software. 

Again - not OuterBox specifically - just how a lot of industries are evolving in this modern economy.
