Outcome Engine designed, developed, and launched a fully responsive web application for us, optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile. The process began with mockups and design reviews to ensure alignment with our vision, followed by development of secure user authentication with role-based access for administrators and mentors, a dashboard showing key metrics and recent activity, and tools to manage mentors, students, time entries, and activity types. They also implemented reporting tools with filters and CSV export options. The application was delivered ready for production, thoroughly tested for usability and performance, and supported for 30 days after launch to address any issues

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project delivered a complete, production-ready web application that equips us to manage our mentor and student programs much more effectively. We now have a centralized system with secure access, clear visibility into key metrics through the dashboard, and tools to track, report, and manage activities in one place. The application is fully set up to streamline our operations, improve reporting accuracy, and save time compared to our previous manual processes

We needed to migrate three of our new client's websites over to new hosts from two former agencies, one who very helpful and communicative and another who was holding the client hostage. We needed to bring in a developer who could help us work with what we had.

Mireya and her team were miracle workers. Despite the incredible challenges, they were able to identify the intricate issues that were beyond our scope, and deliver results in record time, and under budget.

All three websites were migrated, and the challenging one was secured and delivered to the client, who had no access or control.

When we partnered with Outcome Engine, we wanted to transform our online presence. Our goal was a website that would truly feel like a central hub for small business owners in Hudson County. Here's what we asked Outcome Engine to deliver:

• A User-First Approach: We needed a website that was easy for entrepreneurs to navigate, regardless of whether they were on a computer or their phone. We wanted to ensure people could quickly find the resources and services they were looking for.
• Beautiful and Functional Design: The website needed to look professional and welcoming, reflecting our commitment to supporting the business community.

The existing language and literacy assessments will be adapted to Spanish, and will gain new functionality to allow greater control of test progression and improved access to student test response data.  This work will require architectural improvements to the underlying structure of the assessments to enable the new functionality.

Tasks included or will include:

• Add support for Spanish-language text-to-speech voices
• Enable/disable adaptive test algorithms based on URL used to access the assessment
• Allow admins to select randomized or adaptive test progression; for randomized, allow specification of a set pool of questions
• Implement test response export
• Store test questions in MySQL database instead of current method of storing in hard-coded JSON file
• Backend code re-architecture and relocation into new stable data layer code base
• Implement student login screen and rewrite logic to replace current insecure URL parameter login method
• Create admin tools to modify questions
• To support new questions and narration, replace problematic and outdated jQuery-UI frontend code with modern ReactJS
• Add support for either current recorded audio files or Spanish text to speech to support live editing of test questions without re-recording
• Modifications and improvements from lessons learned during year 1 (e.g. improvements to admin tools, rare / edge case bug fixes, changes to test progression after calibration
• Assessment calibration for Spanish-language items and progression algorithms in all 3 assessments

As someone who works in academia but on the creation of ed tech tools, I’ve often worked with tech teams who have excellent technical skills but limited content knowledge about the “why” of what they are working on. This is not true at all of Outcome Engine. This team is very knowledgeable about the importance of accurate assessment of language and literacy skills of young, bilingual children and understands the practical needs for implementation by my team.

We requested a custom CRM that can facilitate our specific needs in receiving and distributing donations to teachers. The CRM needed to be able to record donations for specific teacher's classrooms, provide the donors with their annual receipts, distribute funding to teachers, and create annual reporting for the organization.
Additionally, we needed a WordPress website for the organization that included a crowdfunding platform, enabling teachers to request donors provide support for the day-to-day needs within their classroom. Finally, we needed to integrate the website and custom CRM, giving our staff and volunteers the ability to manage donor and teacher support and data.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received a custom CRM that successfully facilitates our needs to receive and distribute donations to teachers. The CRM can record donations for specific teacher classrooms, provide the donors with their annual receipts, distribute funding to teachers, and create annual reporting for the organization. 
We also received a beautiful WordPress website that fit our branding and user needs as we'd hoped. This site includes a crowdfunding platform that enables teachers to request donors to support their classroom's day-to-day needs. Additionally, Outcome Engine was able to integrate our new website with our new custom CRM, giving our staff and volunteers the ability to manage both donor and teacher support.

The Outcome Engine team was flexible and responsive throughout our project. Although we needed to adjust our goals as we iterated based on user needs, the team handled these changes efficiently. The project took longer than initially expected, but their commitment to refining the product to meet user demands was clear and effective.
