I repeatedly reminded them of this yet they never applied it.Poor technical skills - Whilst I appreciated the hard work by the backend engineer I believe that he strugglied to solve some of the issues faced in the development process.Management Apathy - Management appeared apathetic to my needs as a cleint and this became obvious in the last stages as we tried to close the project.Unethical behaviour by management - We agreed the payment milestones which i respected. I deposited $2000 at the start of the project. The plan was that i pay them 2500 after the development and a final sum of $2000 after QA and push to live environment. However following the several quality issues I agreed with them to terminate the project and take my codes and re-develop it elsewhere. We agreed this and they confirmed this in writing including a safeguard of both parties that we use an escrow system (i.e. Upworks or Escrow,com) so i could deposit the "development phase milestone" fees plus escrow charges. In good faith we progressed with this after some challenges setting up the escrow by them however i helped by connecting with them on Upworks. They sent me a contract which i amended to reflect the agreement as the their email. They then refused to accept the contract and asked me to include time for code review which i did and that they will have to fix any issues we find in the code before final release of funds. I funded the escrow account and waited for codes. They insist that i send them credentials for my Gitlab where the codes are to be sent. My CTO and I told them that they already had access and helped them with any issues. I shared evidence that they had access. It was their holiday so we wished them good holidays and waited. Following the holidays we requested the codes again and was then told that their legal and finance will get back to me. The legal and finance was the same person who had sent me the agreement email. The same person i had communicated with on Upworks to set up the contract which he had failed to accept even after me loading the escrow and amending contracted to include milestone as agreed. Days went by without any response causing frustration even after several phone calls trying to understand what the issue was. They finally sent an email effectively blackmailing me for more money before they release any codes. They were now asking for double the development cost and insisting that i pay the final QA and push to live environment costs which was work they had not done. Their reason was that my request to take a week to review codes and for them to fix any issues with the codes before handover had made them "nervous" that i will not release the funds. In this new email they were now also asking that i use an appointed agent in Bangladesh for the money transfer rather than the escrow which protected both sides. It became clear to me that this was an extortion plan. They thought they codes was so important to me thus they were going to find was to extort money from me. I responded by reminding them of our agreement and contracts and refused to pay any money and thus they are welcome to codes if this was their plan.

### Fitmate: Subscription-Based Gym Network App
Fitmate is an app-enabled, subscription-based gym access service. Once subscribed to Fitmate, users gain access to hundreds of partner gyms nationwide under a single membership plan, eliminating the need for multiple gym subscriptions. The client engaged Ontik Technology as their MVP development partner to take Fitmate from concept to reality. Ontik worked on the project end-to-end: starting with UI/UX design and wireframing, then full-scale development of the mobile app and supporting web systems. The resulting product allows fitness enthusiasts to seamlessly find and check into gyms across Australia using one app. After the successful MVP launch (achieved in just 4 months), Fitmate continued its partnership with Ontik for ongoing development – effectively making Ontik their extended software team – which enabled rapid iteration and scaling of features as user adoption grew.
