The business was impacted positively and was able to function and run smoothly due to the support from NMG. Being a web based e-commerce portal, the issues that the website had before NMG were quickly and accurately resolved by them resulting in smooth functioning of the business.

Talented and responsible team members at NMG is what was most impressive. Turn around times were as per expectations.

My suggestion is that to plan for more telephonic discussion opportunities for accounts that are within India.

I am the Managing Director of a UK-based digital marketing company. We provide a range of services to our own clients, including search engine optimisation (SEO), managed pay per click (PPC) services and web development. For small, straightforward pieces of web development, we generally carry out the work in-house.

For more complex tasks, where we require specialist help, we make use of a relatively small selection of trusted suppliers. Since our reputation is on the line, we are very careful when selecting suppliers. In particular, we focus on assessing the quality of work and the ability to deliver within agreed timescales.

We selected NMG Technologies to assist with the migration of a website. The custom-built site was located on a server that was using an out-of-date version of PHP. Since support for the version of PHP had come to an end and we were concerned about the security implications for our client's website, we needed the PHP version on the server to be upgraded, the client's website to be upgraded and for the project to go smoothly.

What were your goals for this project?

The end goal here was for us to be able to present our client with a website that functioned to the expected level and that was secure. It was important to us that the upgraded site should also be provided in a timely manner and that our client shouldn't experience any noticeable period of downtime. In essence, we wanted to ensure that this would be a smooth transition.

We identified a number of potential vendors online and then conducted a series of interviews, seeking a good match for our requirements. In our discussions with NMG Technologies, we were impressed by their knowledge, expertise and obvious commitment to effective communications. Their pricing was very competitive and they assured us that they would be able to deliver within the required timescales. Importantly for us, it was also evident that their technical team had the ability to deal with a complex, bespoke website.

They provided a comprehensive range of services, in order to complete the project for us. We were provided with a project manager who performed a very effective organisational and communications role. NMG Technologies assessed the existing website that was in place and then presented us with a clear strategy to achieve the required PHP transition.

They explained key dates at the outset and we were provided with access to their project management portal. We found this to be an invaluable tool and their team kept us updated on project progress throughout. This, in turn, ensured that we were able to update our client and to reassure them that all was in hand.

At various stages in the process, we were given access to assist with testing individual elements. This was important to us because it meant that we were able to measure progress and to check that there were no issues that the client might be concerned about.

I think that what was particularly impressive about the way that NMG Technologies performed was that we were actually able to give them very little documentation at the outset. Fortunately, they had the expertise to be able to assess the requirements, design a strategy and then to implement that strategy. Overall, we were very impressed.

NMG Technologies provided us with a dedicated team specific to the project. Our point of contact was their experienced project manager, while the work was undertaken by their technical specialists. Within the team, we were provided with multiple developers, a web designer and QA specialist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

NMG Technologies delivered the PHP transition ahead of schedule and in a seamless manner. As an agency, this was fantastic for us, since it makes us look great for the end client. Our client was impressed by the quality of work that was delivered and by the speed of the delivery.

There is no doubt in my mind that it has boosted confidence in our client's mind in our own ability to deliver. As a result, I would expect us to win more work from this client, both in the near future and overall a period of time. This particular project could not have been completed in-house, due to the level of complexity faced.

By reaching out to NMG Technologies, we were able to expand our own service offering. NMG Technologies undoubtedly exceeded our own expectations and the project delivery has also exceeded the expectations of our client.

With access to a dedicated Zoho portal, we were able to keep updated on progress. We also received regular communication via email and Skype. The project was co-ordinated via a main point of contact and we found that they were, at all times, both responsive and effective. The project was clearly well managed, allowing them to meet and exceed the project objectives.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I think that what separates NMG Technologies from other companies is that they combine expertise with the ability to communicate. We felt that we were in the loop every step of the way and we also knew that we were in safe hands. That's so important for us, when working with a supplier.

I can honestly say that I can't think of anything that they could have done better.

I reached out to NMG and they were very responsive. Once in communication with them, I explained the concept and they fully understood it. Once the clock tract was drafted and signed, development began. They gave their input on the UI design and we were very pleased with what the team came up with. After working out the finer details of the UI, the more technical development work began. NMG was fantastic and very attentive. They made sure everything was done correctly and running smoothly. NMG continues to display high effort and high quality work as I continue to work with them.

The team consists of a general project manager who makes sure things are running smoothly. There are also heads of each task such as design that oversee the team that specializes in those specific tasks.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project has allowed us to bring our ideas to reality. Not only has it been a great learning experience for us, but it has brought us closer to our goal of connecting the world in a new and unique way. As the app continues in its development, the technology allows us to use high quality features to connect with others.

The project managers were very attentive and responsive to inquiries. They wanted to make sure things were progressing smoothly and that we were happy. They showed an obvious passion for the project and continue to show the same passion. I have been very pleased with project management.

NMG Technologies puts a very high level of effort into their work and is very attentive. The team was available and really went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Their passion for the project really showed as they would bend their schedule to match with ours. Their above and beyond effort is incredibly appreciated and has made the project very enjoyable to work on.

The team has been nothing but amazing. There is often a trade off between development time and quality. Thankfully the team and I both share the same preference of quality. I am very happy working with them and look forward to continuing my work with them.

We hired NMG Technologies for design, front- and backend development, and administrative application of our web platform.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to develop a two-sided marketplace that also allows users to store and share documents.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We interviewed seven vendors to assess their experience, skills, and cost. We determined NMG Technologies to be the best fit for our project.

We first worked closely with NMG Technologies for about a month to prepare a functional specification document (FSD) outlining the platform, features and functionalities, solutions, and timeline of each milestone for the project. 

Once we had the final FSD, we moved onto mockup designs of each page. We then created an HTML prototype that we could test and provide feedback before the full backend development. 

Simultaneously, NMG Technologies worked on the back-office platform that we can test on a weekly basis. Once the backend development and administrative platform were finished, we released beta versions for final testing before the launch.

The team consisted of a project manager, an account manager, a creative designer, a frontend HTML developer, two web developers, and a quality assurance manager.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

NMG Technologies is very easy to work with and completed each milestone as scheduled, which helped us launch as we originally planned. We also had to make minor changes during the project that fell outside of the original scope; however, NMG Technologies is very understanding and made all the changes at a very reasonable fee. 

Lastly, the team is very quick to fix all of the bugs that we found during the beta testing. After the development was done, we decided to hire NMG Technologies for ongoing maintenance of the site.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We use Zoho as our communication tool to share progress and issues, and we use Skype for weekly conference calls. Overall, the team as a whole is very responsive. They guided us expertly through each milestone.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality and speed with which NMG Technologies addresses any issues that we come across stands out to us. We have direct communication with all of the team—including the project manager, designer, and developers—which really helped us to track the progress each week and stay on top of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The only minor issue that we had during our project was our time zone differences. But NMG Technologies was very flexible and worked around my schedule. We are very glad to have partnered with NMG Technologies.

We hired NMG Technologies to build a new website from scratch using custom code.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to create a logical, organized platform that increased the profitability of our company.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I researched for vendors on Google and stumbled upon their site. I liked their branding, which was a strong selling point for me, and enjoyed their sales pitch.

They created a database and directory. In addition to these key features, they designed a paid membership into which advertisers could buy at various levels to unlock features. Using the website, pageants can highlight certain contestants and each constituent can manage their own profile.

What was the team composition?

I worked with two or three people.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The site looked good, and its branding was strong.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their communication was poor and they didn't understand my needs. For example, at one point I found a glitch. When I added a constituent to the pageant, their profile didn't appear on the event page. NMG Technologies said that automatically populating the content of one profile into another was outside the scope. 

To me, the scope indicated that new constituents would appear on both their own profile and on the event profile. I knew that most of my fans wouldn't take the time to fill out both profiles, especially if their pageant had thousands of participants, and that the directory would look incomplete. They repeatedly stated that this concern was outside the scope, that the solution had already been developed, and that building a feature that automatically curated data would take additional hours. 

After I approved those hours, their CEO wanted to change the method of payment to wire transfer. I said it was more convenient for me to send a check, but they said they needed the payment urgently because of a holiday. I couldn't justify spending extra time and money when I could pay by check instead. Eventually, they added a charge to process the check. The proposal said their check processing fee was $15, but they said the amount had increased. Eventually they just sent an invoice that included the original fee. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed by their sales pitch.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They should improve their communication, eliminate surprise costs, and never pressure clients to pay using a different method because money is tight. That's not professional. NMG Technologies would work for companies that need a simple website or traditional e-commerce store, but they don't have the structure to execute complex sites that require a lot of planning and collaboration.

I am the CEO of ProtectApp LLC, an IT company that develops custom security solutions.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with NMG Technologies?

We were hoping to develop a suite of security apps for religious institutions, but we needed more development resources to complete the project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In addition to building the suite of security apps for Android and iOS, NMG Technologies was responsible for designing the accompanying marketing website and admin panel. Bootstrap and Laravel were used to develop the platforms.

The apps were supposed to use indoor location services via Bluetooth beacons, which could be managed with the admin panel. We also wanted to integrate a few emergency tools that allow users to contact local police departments and track their response times.

What is the team dynamic?

We had one point of contact.

How did you come to work with NMG Technologies?

Our hiring decision was based on their affordable pricing and their positive reviews on Clutch and other websites. Their salesperson’s positive attitude was also very influential.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $30,000 on the engagement. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in November 2018 but was terminated early in March 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did the partnership with NMG Technologies evolve?

Our goal was to create a simple, elegant, refined, and intuitive product, but NMG Technologies didn’t meet expectations. Overall, we received an inoperative admin panel, unusable apps, and an incomplete website. The Android app is not able to store login information or connect to Bluetooth beacons. There is a bit more functionality on the iOS app, but there are occasional issues with connectivity. It is also impossible to configure beacons on the admin panel because the IDs are not compatible.

Although we parted ways with NMG Technologies, we’re still resolving issues from the partnership. They wouldn’t give us access to the server without a hefty payout, which put us at a more significant loss. The app was hacked, and our Plivo account was compromised because the app wasn’t secure. The development has been halted due to the security breach.

How was project management handled?

There appeared to be no logic behind their development process. When voicing our concerns with their work, the project manager became extremely confrontational. They told us they would be using Zoho to manage the project, but I could never find what I was looking for on Zoho.  The scope of the FSD only required that I inform them of issues via email, so I switched to that process, which they did not like.

Making requests for edits fell on deaf ears and simple requests were rejected as outside the scope of the FSD.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

Their work did not match the quality of their sales pitch.

In what specific areas can they improve?

The project manager was effective in meeting deadlines but not very helpful in other areas. All of our questions and concerns were met with opposition, and our requests were vehemently denied.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I would not recommend working with them.

With due respect, we believe this review misrepresents our capabilities and track record. The project was a fixed bid with an agreed-to scope with milestone payments. The client was to review each deliverable and release payment only after due approval.

As a startup, the client had everchanging ideas, especially since this was their first security technology application project. During the engagement, we humbly accommodated feedback and change requests. This process included regular updates and three weekly Zoom meetings. We recommended our project management system, but the client decided on email, citing it would not be possible to use that solution.

We are disappointed in the client’s expectation that they should get complimentary changes after the project ended. This was a result of their showcasing the app to different stakeholders. We found that unprofessional and disappointing.

Our team—especially our project managers—have always been humble, responsible, and conscientious about feedback.

We interviewed many agencies who seemed to lack the proper knowledge and understanding to complete our project. After NMG quickly fixed our sound issue, we decided to bring them on for the entirety of the project. We based this decision on their responsiveness and experience in the industry.

They completed each task within the promised time. Their fixes and additional efforts allowed us to launch 4bar in the App Store.

Every team member was extremely responsive, receptive, and approachable. They communicated efficiently and proactively shared updates to assure we were completely satisfied with the final result.

I was most impressed by their level of knowledge. They were able to address a seemingly rare issue that stumped a lot of other app development teams we spoke with. Additionally, the team was very kind and a pleasure to work with.

I work for a marketing research firm that incentivizes consumers, business owners, insurance producers, financial advisors, and mortgage brokers across the US and Canada to forward all the direct marketing they receive. We scan and convert that data into an optical character recognition (OCR) searchable PTD and upload it into our database. We sell subscription access to our data that allows our clients to see their competition from a direct marketing perspective.

We were previously working with a Chicago-based web development vendor, and we outgrew that relationship. We were looking for a vendor who could help maintain our current application, while also helping us grow into the future.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

NMG creates all kinds of technical solutions. Initially, NMG was integral in helping us migrate to AWS from a project management perspective. They guided us on how our app was going to fit with AWS.

More recently, their team designed and implemented a mail-copy identification software. It scans and gets rid of duplicate copies of mail and ads we receive to increase operational efficiency. Their developers currently provide ongoing maintenance and help us rebrand our website.

What is the team composition?

We work with four full-time developers, one part-time project manager, one part-time QA, and one full-time system administrator.

How did you come to work with NMG Technologies?

We reached out to ten companies and five returned our calls. NMG was one of those companies and incredibly responsive. From the time that we submitted our request for information, they answered back within the hour. They also quickly understood our requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $350,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in August 2016 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Compared to the vendor we were previously using, NMG’s quality and output have been excellent. Hiring them has been probably one of the best business decisions we've made as a company. Their affordability, availability, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond have had a tremendous on the optimization of our business services thus far.

How did NMG Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

During our migration, we were on the phone every single day for seven months. From there, we gradually decreased the amount of communication. We now talk over Skype or the phone once a week or whenever we need them. They have highly talented, responsive, and highly-capable individuals managing our project. English is their second language, but nothing’s ever lost in translation. I've actually visited them in New Delhi, and they were great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed by their willingness to go above and beyond. Whenever unforeseen challenges come up, they work with us over countless weekends to make sure we succeed. They make sure everything is high-quality, done on time, and within our budget. Compared to our previous vendor, they don’t charge us for every little thing and provide great value.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could add some additional expertise on their staff to become an indispensable vendor. If they had some digital differential analyzers (DDA) or cloud engineers, I wouldn’t have to go to another vendor.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you fully understand your vision and communicate it well. Have the patience to go through the requirements and take it to step by step. Have the flexibility to know that things will not always go according to plan. As long as you have very clearly defined requirements and expectations, you can ensure a successful project.

I’m the Vice President of Sales for Telemark Diversified Graphics. We’re a wholesale printer and converter of thermal paper rolls used for ATM and POS receipts, as well as parking, mobile, kiosk, and medical purposes.

We wanted to create an easy way for our distributors to access stock pricing and place orders. We also needed a tool that would allow distributors to accurately request pricing for custom products as well as place orders.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal was to create a tool in which pricing could be adjusted easily, stock items could be ordered simply, and custom RFQs could be submitted.

How did you select this vendor?

I requested several proposals. Although NMG was not the cheapest, their proposal was the most detailed.

Once we selected NMG, they took a lot of time to understand our business model, which is not easy. They then asked many direct questions about our operation and our goals. They submitted a written proposal outline, which needed almost zero modifications. After that we agreed to the timeline, which was followed throughout design and implementation.

We're preparing to launch the developed application next week.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They communicate well in writing and on phone calls. They were very responsive and able to make adjustments and troubleshoot very quickly.

Their level of understanding of our business model really stood out to us. I often said that they understand our operation better than our own employees do.

I wish they were in a closer time zone. I didn't mind the 8am EST calls, but this would be my only thought.
