Travellers around the world choose to stay in hostels as a means to meet other people. To that extent, Hostelworld has decided to build a social network to help travellers find like-minded people to hang out with. This project was kick started in 2021 and still goes on as we have seen a major increase in retention rate and stickiness of our customers and have decided to include social in our business model, as it provides value to customers that they don't get with any other OTA.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Delivering the project on time and with the high level of quality in the MVP phase. Enhancing the quality and continuously building further features to add to the product portfolio and improve the value provided to users through the social network.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Nistruct has made sure to meet our needs and overachieve our expectations. Projects were consistently delivered on time and with great level of quality. When there was any changes within their team (as leavers are bound to happen in the 2.5 years of our collaboration) this was always met with timely communication and expedite replacement of the person. Similarly, when we needed ad-hoc support on other projects or wanted to increase the size of the team, Nistruct has always reacted swiftly to it.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The fact that they've always kept our goals as their and made sure they deliver what we need at the quality rate that we need and in the planned timeframe. They've always felt like part of our team, not just an external agency we collaborate with. Also, the founders have made sure they meet our needs, even with small ad-hoc requests where we needed help, and all of that combined with great pricing that felt more than fair to us. It definitely helped that their values are well aligned with ours.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Nistruct could have done differently?

So far, we never ran into any issue with Nistruct and hope that the collaboration continues in that manner.

Nistruct supported on a Java Project, they provided a Project Manager and two Senior Java Developers. The Scope of the work was to replace an old .Net legacy solutions with a new service orientation Java Model.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team were assigned sports that needed to be moved over from the legacy system to the new Java system. Success was demonstrated when these sports were fully implemented onto the new system.

Yes the project manager was experienced. He was able to foresee issues in advance, problem solve and assign sprints to the correct developer, therefore creating a slick environment to work meaning items were delivered on time.

Knowledge of Java was strong. They had a good team vibe, which made them easy to get along with.
