We are a FinTech focusing on credit collection in Africa. I am Head of Data.

For what projects/services did your company hire Netguru?

Being an early-stage startup, our data infrastructure didn't include any data engineering. Given the scarcity of data engineers, we hired Netuguru to set up the said infrastructure for us.

We selected this vendor due to recommendation from partners as well as the flexibility and quality of their services.

The project was to set up a modern data engineering architecture, including data lake, data warehouse, data pipelines and orchestration.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

1 Senior Data Engineer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The data engineering infrastructure was set up in a timely manner. The quality was on par with expectations and so was the associated documentation. Training has also been done for our in-house junior data engineer.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The senior data engineer provided by Netguru was fully dedicated to the project, so the workflow was very smooth as the contractor worked similarly to an in-house employee.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the contractor and of the customer service is outstanding.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No area for improvement (other than the high fee, which can be prohibitive for some companies and/or projects)

We hired Netguru to turn our ideas into code. We needed to develop an MVP to test the market and move toward validation.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to prepare a market-testable MVP.

Their sales staff made a timely, relevant cold outreach. We evaluated them over a few meetings, saw their work, and decided to proceed with them.

We had a dedicated project manager and two developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They delivered on time and within the right budget, which allowed us to qualitatively test the market and our assumptions. This initial project set us up for success and ensured that we were following the right market signals.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our project manager gave us weekly updates through email and Slack, and we had numerous meetings on Skype and Google Hangouts. We had no issues with communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed by their attention to detail and amazing customer service.
