Develope a simple platform where customers can view items sent to our warehouse, update their inventory and request shipment. Customers are to be able to see shipment, select items to be shipped out, make payments for shipping fees etc.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Measurable outcome was to develope a platform that works. A platform that was easy for customers to use and provided the solutions we and the customers needed.

They did not deliver and as of today, more than 16 months after a 4 months project started, they are yet to provide a fully working model that is free of bugs.

Working with them was very difficuly with series of abuses coming from the lead manager to ur team members.

Its so bad that we are taking them to court to try to recover our money in full for some other project they did for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Nothing was impressive and nothing was unique. We have hired independent software people to evaluate their work and they have reported the work was not done to the current standards for software development. 

They exhibited a lack of capacity to handle serious projects. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Nerdbug Limited could have done differently?

As of today, we have scrapped both projects we gave them, and have hired a new company to redevelope the whole project, after wasting 16 months on the project. 

They need to focus on other areas and not software development as they showed lack of competence to develope the type of custom solution we needed.

I'm the COO of Delta6ix, an oil and gas company and a contractor firm in Lagos, Nigeria. We help people that have petroleum-related businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Nerdbug Limited?

We needed to develop a product to help people find others working in relevant industries, particularly STEM-related ones. However, we didn’t have the technical skills in-house to develop the product, so we required Nerdbug’s custom software development services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Nerdbug has helped us design and develop the product we needed from scratch. Initially, we provided them with our client’s specifications and had a series of meetings with their product team to go through the wireframing. Now, we’re close to launching the product.

In addition to custom software development, Nerdbug has also helped us scout for personnel to augment our services. This part of the engagement has included conducting interviews for a social media manager.

We’ve worked with three people from Nerdbug: the CEO, the CTO, and the product designer.

How did you come to work with Nerdbug Limited?

Nerdbug had a running ad campaign on Instagram, where they talked about the services they offered. At the time, my CEO had asked me to scout for a software company that did exactly what they offered, so I reached out to them and requested their services.

Nerdbug called me the next day. I talked with their business development officer on that call, and we scheduled a meeting for the next day. During that meeting, I spoke with their entire team, and we started our partnership.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent close to $20,000 on the project so far.

What is the status of the engagement?

Our partnership kicked off in May 2022, and we are still working together. We are almost 90% done with the product, and it will be going live soon, by the end of September 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Nerdbug has done an extraordinary job so far; we’re very impressed with them and the great value for the money they offer. Moreover, our client is also very impressed with their work so far. 

The product is not live yet, so we don’t have any metrics on its performance. Still, we’ve only had one bug instance, which their team quickly solved. In addition to their great software development work, I also like their customer service. Thanks to them, we’ve hired a social media manager.

How did Nerdbug Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had a good experience working with Nerdbug. Their communication is very good, and they’re always available and responsive. They work for us fully remotely and still offer excellent communication. We don’t have to follow up on them to get updates because they always ensure to keep us aware of what they’re doing. We communicate via WhatsApp and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Nerdbug’s work culture is great. They’re always interested in their customers and take them seriously. I have no background in technology, so working with them has also given me a different perspective. Moreover, they have a lot of skilled people working with them, which is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re doing fine. They’re still a very small team, so I only hope that they expand so that they can take more jobs without compromising the quality of their services.

Don't be afraid to ask them anything. They’ll answer all your questions so that you’ll understand the project and what they're trying to offer you.
