The scope behind the Canossa App was to give our clients an additional tool to fully enjoy our events and to get the most out of it. From the possibility to join our events by simply clicking a button, to receiving notification and personalized pictures and documents. The app helped us connect more with our clients and to improve their experience with us.

The app got more and more download at each events and our clients often give us feedback on how useful and appreciated it is.

Working with Mumble has been a great experience. They have always delivered items on time, they are very accommodating and whenever we needed them they were available. As a growing and fast paced company, we appreciated them very much for their capacity to always meet our needs and make everything work out for the best.

I think that what impressed me the most about Mumble is their team and their way of interacting with their clients. They are a team of young and passionate people who is all about helping and supporting their clients. No, not really. Every time we had a misunderstanding they were available for calls and meetings to try and find a solution.

Create an APP, design, development, debugging & QA for iOS e Android ensuring a high quality service, having regard to the image of Trentodoc brand, its affiliated and the structures in Trentino Province, giving constantly support and consultancy in decision-making. 

The Trentodoc App, made for wine lovers and travelers, will guide users through the discovery of Trentodoc sparkling wine metodo classico from Trentino and all its producers, with suggestions regarding the guided tours to wineries, the labels, the territory and the gastronomical, natural and cultural sites, events and news. 

The app can be constantly updated with new data and can be used in some sections offline. Users can also build an archive with favorite labels, tasting experiences and to-visit wishlist. The App has also a map of the points of interest and geolocation.

I am the CEO of a foodtech startup based in Bologna, Italy. The startup is a digital assistant in retail grocery shopping, helping consumers having an healthier and more sustainable diet.

For what projects/services did your company hire Mumble, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop from scratch a performing mobile app both for iOS and Android. The UX/UI design was given, but we considered the opportunity of improving it with professionals like them.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We knew them by word-of-mouth, after having interviews with at least 5 more development agencies. Their approach was immediately much more professional, transparent and precise than all the other companies.

The work consisted in two main deliverables of the mobile app, V1 due in max 3 months (+ debugging) and V2 in 12 months (+ debugging) with 4-5 months break in between.
The mobile apps were developed in Flutter backed by Firebase.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Mumble assigned 5 people to our project. During the requirements and feasibility analysis we were assisted both by the CTO and a senior developer.
Then, once the development phase started, we had direct contact with a PM and the senior developer. In certain periods an additional developer was added to boost the development. 
Furthermore, when we needed UX/UI assistance they provided an UX espert to help us creating a brilliant interface.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is doing great (+40.000 downloads in the first year), and we have to thank Mumble for this. Their deliverables were always fast and accurate, the quality of their coding excellent. Our rating on the stores is more than 4.5/5 and no user ever complained about bugs or development issues. We couldn't have a better partner and I would recommend them to any company who is looking for great deliverables.

Their communication is fast, puncutal and effective. They have great PMs and they always deliver on time (or even in advance). Their estimates are always transparent and respected.
They also developed a tool to efficiently manage debugging and all the requests from their clients, which is really easy-to-use.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed by them for being so young and professional at the same time. In every step of the project, since day one, we felt we can rely on them. They are hard-workers, organized, flexible, human, top-quality professionals. This is incredibly important for the success of a project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As regards the mobile development I have nothing to suggest, I think their job was excellent with no flaws. I think that if they promote themselves more, they can become a major player in the Italian development market.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Radio Bruno is the most popular Italian radio station in the Emilia Romagna and Tuscany region. We organize many events and we collaborate with local governments to support the cities and their commercial activities.

I do many things for Radio Bruno, including being a radio speaker. My main responsibilities are related to social media and digital management. For this reason, I had a chance to cooperate with Mumble when we decided to realize our mobile apps.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mumble?

We partnered up with Mumble because, while our radio can be reached in two regions (out of 20 total regions in Italy), we are well known in the rest of Italy. On our website, we could see visits even from foreign countries. We decided to give our international listeners a tool to access Radio Bruno from each corner of the world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to develop two apps, one for iOS and one for Android, possibly native and accessible from anywhere in the world. Mumble took care of every aspect regarding the app, from the design to the technical realization. They supported us in defining the best functionalities for the app and integrated both audio and video streaming on them. Now, we reach 75k users per month, with a 99.9% crash-free experience. We received great feedback from our users and we're extremely happy with the products Mumble created for us.

Mumble assigned four people to our project. One of them was a UX/UI expert that helped us build the whole interface and take off with a clear idea of what we needed to develop. For the rest of the process, we've been working with a project manager dedicated to us, while one iOS developer and one Android developer were dedicated full-time to this project.

How did you come to work with Mumble?

First off, we wanted a native application, which helped us to weed out a lot of suppliers. When the decision time came, we favored quality over anything else, especially since that is the main aim of our radio. Mumble works with top-tier clients and we trusted that their experience could give us a huge advantage in terms of quality and design. Obviously, we also considered pricing (which was very competitive) and flexibility. They demonstrated that they could easily adapt to changes and hiccups, that are pretty frequent when it comes to designing a digital product from the ground up.

How much have you invested with Mumble?

Mumble realized the two applications for approximately $15k, including free updates and some variations we asked for after releasing the apps. They worked on the project for a total duration of three months, mainly because we needed time between each milestone to analyze and reassess our position (it was the first time ever that we thought about creating an app). I can tell you Mumble has been precious in this matter because they have always supported us in making the right decision and following the best practices that made our app hugely adopted in Italy.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Mumble approximately in March 2015 and we completed the project three months later, around June 2015.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The project was an absolute success. We are now able to reach out to people all around the globe. Many people thank us because they now use the app when they go running or exercising; it's exciting to think they prefer Radio Bruno to Spotify! When it comes to metrics, I always mention the one that struck me the most: each and every day, Radio Bruno apps are used by 3.5k people (which is 75k per month)! It was a huge success.

How did Mumble perform from a project management standpoint?

Mattia, the project manager that handled our whole project, has been a key resource for the success of our apps. He has been very reliable and trustworthy since day one, very involved with researching and finding new solutions and, most of all, very open to new ideas and experiments we wanted to conduct. He answered our emails very quickly and would frequently follow up with a call if he needed clarifications. He never made a decision that was contrary to our desires or ideas. If the project has been so successful, it's mainly thanks to Mattia and his professional-but-friendly attitude.

What did you find most impressive about Mumble?

For starters, I have to say that the quality of the applications that mumble realizes is top-notch. When you combine it with the price, you find out that they are probably one of the best options when it comes to price/quality ratio. Moving toward the human component, I can tell you it has been a pleasure working with them because of their attitude. They are young, excited, and always looking for the new trends of the tech industry.

Are there any areas Mumble could improve?

One suggestion that I have for them is to implement the part related to the promotion of the apps. We all want an application for our business, but only a few of us know how to successfully promote it. Users are key for an app and I would urge Mumble to implement this part of the process to offer a more complete service.
