What was the scope of their involvement?
We wanted to develop two apps, one for iOS and one for Android, possibly native and accessible from anywhere in the world. Mumble took care of every aspect regarding the app, from the design to the technical realization. They supported us in defining the best functionalities for the app and integrated both audio and video streaming on them. Now, we reach 75k users per month, with a 99.9% crash-free experience. We received great feedback from our users and we're extremely happy with the products Mumble created for us.
Mumble assigned four people to our project. One of them was a UX/UI expert that helped us build the whole interface and take off with a clear idea of what we needed to develop. For the rest of the process, we've been working with a project manager dedicated to us, while one iOS developer and one Android developer were dedicated full-time to this project.
How did you come to work with Mumble?
First off, we wanted a native application, which helped us to weed out a lot of suppliers. When the decision time came, we favored quality over anything else, especially since that is the main aim of our radio. Mumble works with top-tier clients and we trusted that their experience could give us a huge advantage in terms of quality and design. Obviously, we also considered pricing (which was very competitive) and flexibility. They demonstrated that they could easily adapt to changes and hiccups, that are pretty frequent when it comes to designing a digital product from the ground up.
How much have you invested with Mumble?
Mumble realized the two applications for approximately $15k, including free updates and some variations we asked for after releasing the apps. They worked on the project for a total duration of three months, mainly because we needed time between each milestone to analyze and reassess our position (it was the first time ever that we thought about creating an app). I can tell you Mumble has been precious in this matter because they have always supported us in making the right decision and following the best practices that made our app hugely adopted in Italy.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Mumble approximately in March 2015 and we completed the project three months later, around June 2015.
