We needed their team to develop our company's MVP, which was a dispatch system for users who want to book a cab online.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mtoag Technologies developed our web application from scratch after I relayed my initial ideas to their team. They kicked off the project by conducting extensive research and presenting suggestions on how they want to develop the app's backend. After finalizing our tools and solutions, we proceeded with the development phase of the project. Their team customized our platform in that all the source codes were uniquely utilized and implemented in our company alone. 

Our MVP was an online dispatch system that interlinked passengers and cab operators. The site itself functioned as a portal for users who want to book cabs from different operators in their area. We received notifications once users accessed our site for their cab bookings, and our system processes their request by distributing the booking to the closest cab operator in the passenger's location.

We worked with seven development resources from Mtoag Technologies, but we mainly communicated with the owner.

I came across their Elance (now Upwork) profile when I was looking for a development team that could help me with a previous project. They turned out to be a reliable partner that gets the job done, so I was happy to hire them for my succeeding projects under different companies.

I spent about $65,000–$70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from November 2014–June 2016. I'm still in contact with their team as they work on the development-related projects in my current company.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Mtoag Technologies developed a user-friendly web app with a unique design and user functionalities. Our product was complicated and took a while to build because of the multiple phases involved, but their team managed to come up with a functional platform that our users really liked. During my time in the management, I constantly received positive feedback from different users and operators.

How did Mtoag Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicated via Skype and email. Mtoag Technologies utilized an efficient workflow from the get-go — our meetings were always on-point and informative, so I felt like each phase of the project was properly communicated to us, which I really appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I've worked with a lot of teams who were experts in their field but failed to meet my expectations in terms of reliability. However, with Mtoag Technologies, I never felt the need to worry about the same issues. They were always communicative and available, and because they had both the experience and expertise that I needed to bring our product to life, our collaborative experience was just seamless. Apart from their undeniable talent, I saw their willingness to help my company grow through their suggestions, which were free from any bias or plain desire to get more profit.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were times when I hoped for the process to quicker, but that's just because of my personal preferences. I'm well aware of the fact that development work takes a lot of commitment and time.

Consider your engagement as an actual collaboration of skills and experience and not a mere client-vendor relationship. Allowing them to freely bring ideas to the table while also suggesting your own will result in a unique and fruitful collaborative experience.

We needed their team to develop our e-commerce application. Previously, we were only a supermarket, but we realized there is more opportunity in e-commerce.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD. has developed our application, which is only compatible with Android devices.

Initially, I briefed them about my business and concept. I explained what service I wanted to provide to my customers. Then, I explained the requirements to their development and marketing teams. Then, Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD. designed the blueprint for the application and checked in with me to see if I wanted changes. Once they created the structure, they checked in with me again. Then, they finished developing the application. 

Since they finished the application, I’ve worked with them on any customizations that have needed to be done. The final product has been tested and is ready. Technology is changing, so I’ll need customizations in the future, and Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD. has committed to help.

Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD. has completed their portion of the project and fulfilled all my requirements; there are no issues. I’m planning to launch the e-commerce application in September 2023.

Our relationship will be long-term. Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD. has a very good, established team; they’ll help me grow in the future.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

Mtoag Technologies Pvt LTD.’s team is very cooperative. The project is delayed on my end because they’re waiting on my customization requests. 

All the requested work has been delivered on time and on budget. They’ve asked if I have any changes at various intervals of the project, including when they created the contract and when they shared the project blueprint and structure.

We hired them to develop and maintain our system. It is a very complex system so we needed a company with great expertise to be able to achieve the results we expected.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Mtoag built our product and now maintains it. The system is a mobile app that allows users to track school buses. It has an admin app, a parent app, and the tracking app itself. Additional features include biometric capabilities, QR scanning, live audio and video broadcasting, and more. 

Besides development, Mtoag Technologies has also provided marketing services.

We worked with 7–8 people from their team during development, including a project manager and a development team.

They surfaced in our research on Google, and a colleague had had a good experience with them in the past.

We’ve spent around $15,000–$20,000 USD. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project began about five years back, around 2015, and we’ve continued collaborating with them on maintenance services for the system.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Results have been good; we’ve had about 4,000 downloads. It’s been harder recently because schools have closed due to the pandemic, and the app was meant to be used in schools, so we’ve reduced the number of clients. We’ve had very good feedback from our users, though. 

How did Mtoag Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been good, meeting almost all deadlines. Some things haven’t been under their control, but besides that, they meet all requirements timely 99% of the time. I am pretty satisfied with their project management. 

As for project management tools, we’ve used Google docs and other Microsoft tools, as well as communicated via Whatsapp and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mtoag Technologies has been a very good team. The project managers are very friendly, professional, and good at taking feedback in a positive way. They don’t have a very frequent rotation of personnel either, which is appreciated in these kinds of projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t say anything. They’ve done a good job.

I would definitely recommend working with Mtoag. They take the client’s opinions and feedback in a very efficient manner. I’ve had experience in the past working with companies who tend to leave the clients' views out of the project, but Mtoag is great at always consulting us and working according to our specific needs and views.
