We have been impressed with Molfar's flexibility regarding the project. They were happy to get started on an MVP basis, keeping the system simple and evolving it as requirements were established. Our device has been through several iterations in parallel with this project causing new requirements to emerge. 

We provided them with prototype hardware simulators and eventually device hardware to test their system. They have accommodated a lot of back and forward communication with this, shipping, new firmware versions etc on device.

Molfar understand MVP and are proactive about finding simple, cost effective methods to satisfy the requirements. They are good communicators, happy to jump on a phonecall, or respond to Whatsapp in a timely manner. Overall, they are very pleasant to deal with. They are very flexible and genuinely engaged as a development partner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something molfar.io could have done differently?

We could have sent them device hardware sooner, this could have avoided some delays, our fault not theirs! They have separate front and back end teams, communication is good, however the front end team have been slightly more responsive to urgent issues/requests.

Regarding the process, we gave them a mock-up and a draft to let them know my requirements. Functionality-wise, I was clear about what I wanted, but on the design side, they've helped me with different suggestions.

We've been getting great user feedback because the quality of the product has been super good, and it's been working as intended. We've had a couple of thousands of downloads, and so far, it's spread worldwide.

The overall project management experience has been good; they're responsive, even during the weekend, and have all the necessary information for the process. In addition, they keep me updated on the process, communicate constantly, and share files via Google Meet, Slack, and ClickUp. They updated me all the time and when necessary.

They've been great in accommodating our app to our needs and requirements.

I wanted to create an app that allows you to share only recently taken photos. These photos should be automatically assigned to the place where they were taken and the date/time. These features make it possible to view current photos from around the world in real time and also search photos by location, date/time and category

I found this company over a freelancer platform. They have a contact in Germany, which then introduced me to the CEO of the company. They made a professional impression from the beginning, so I decided to work with them

First I described the idea of the app. We had then a Kick-Off call with the German contact and the CEO. As a next step, they provided the ideas of the UX design of the app. Upon approval, the started to develop the app. Durcing the process, more and more functions were added. After beta testing, the app was released in the AppStore in January 2022

We are very happy with molfar.io’s work. They are a pretty hands-on team, and they’ve done a great job of developing everything based on our wireframes and designs. Our applications are now live and downloadable from the app stores.

We’ve been dividing the work in a very modular fashion through different stages of development, but they’re very good in terms of adhering to the timelines and managing the scope of work. We communicate through Slack and use a cloud-based tool for documentation purposes. We also regularly hold Zoom meetings, to which molfar.io has been very disciplined in showing up. They are very attentive and responsive to our comments and feedback.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their team comprises of very sharp people; they quickly understand our requirements and proactively provide suggestions to optimize the cost. I find that very valuable. 
Are there any areas they could improve?
We almost always go above our budget limits, and these could be due to us constantly going back to their team to have something fixed or enhanced. I think they should also shut us down when it comes to that so that we can also stay within budget.

Have a clear definition of your project’s focal point. Having a good upfront alignment on the requirements will allow the company you’re working with to provide the best estimates, designs, and meeting schedules. Also, have your internal team do some due diligence so that the frequency of your back-and-forth discussions with the company can be reduced.

I cannot say enough positive things about how flexible, creative, fast, and accessible the Molfar.io team has been throughout the project. We used Slack as a primary communication tool and it has been fast and easy to work with Molfar.io the entire time.

In addition to their impressive technical ability and effectiveness, I was impressed with how well I've been treated. As a small company, I did not expect to be treated with such care, attention, and priority.

I found this vendor on LinkedIn. The deciding factors were his professionalism when speaking with him on the phone. The final deciding factor was when I contacted a previous client of molfar.io. I asked the previous client if they had a good experience working with molfar.io and their response was "Absolutely. They are great!"

The score of work was designing and building an MVP app for iOS devices. The focus was on first coming up with a design and then adding our content in multiple languages. Molfar.io was on schedule with every target date they set at the beginning of our working relationship.

Everyone that has seen the app so far has given positive feedback. Potential investors have really enjoyed the usability of the app and the multiple functions. We have just launched so we do not have any metrics to show yet.

The project manager was very easy to communicate with. There was a 6 hour time difference between our working locations, but he was always available to answer my questions through WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found that the most impressive thing was their ability to adjust to my needs and learn more about the market I'm working in. Our user market will focus on Asia, and molfar.io quickly learned about the differences between Asia and Europe in regards to the technology - and quickly adapted. It was refreshing for me - because it allowed me to focus on other aspects of the company while they focused on the app development.

No. They were great. I look forward to continuing working with them in the future.

They also gave us some recommendations on the design of the interface; we chose one of their designs but adjusted it by changing the colors and some details.

We communicate through WhatsApp and email. They are extremely professional and on point. Every single email message I sent is responded to immediately. They even worked with us when a quick budget issue came up. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was unsure if a company that I found on Fiverr could deliver high-quality work because the price range of other companies is much higher for the same visual quality.  Not only they did deliver, but they delivered at a level that far exceeded the amount of money that I feel they're worth.

Not that I can think of.

If someone is looking for a guaranteed result, high quality, without all the stress that goes into it, I would give them the call. Also, the more specific you are, the better they'll be able to deliver.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of Redwood, the first AR K-5 math adventure game.

What challenge were you trying to address with molfar.io?

We hired molfar.io to help us with our AR needs. There’s a global crisis going on right now. You’re seeing D’s and F’s across K-12, but if you look at elementary schoolers, you have six-year-old students on Zoom classes.

It’s not their fault they’re doing poorly so what we’re doing is we’re trying to build a highly engaging medium of learning math; we believe that building an interactive 3D environment is the answer because a sheet of paper and a 2D screen can only go so far. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Molfar.io is using Apple’s ARKit which is similar to an API on Swift and Xcode Framework to build our app. We don’t have a backend yet, but we’re working on building it using AWS or Firebase. Right now, they’ve plugged us in Amplitude — it’s a free KPI tracking tool.

They’ve completed developing our iOS app, but we’re looking to continually improve our average session time per day, so we’ve been working on applying many UI changes. We plan to launch the new update in a few days.

Basically, they serve as our development arm. Initially, we only planned to outsource all our coding to them because we’re non-technical founders. What ended up happening is a long-term relationship between us because we’ve started to see them as members of the team.

They offered an extremely affordable price, and they stood out because they had already completed projects in both of those domains. The team also came in the meeting with several ideas, and after that, we naturally decided that they were a good fit for us.

We like that they care about what we do, and since we’re raising our first round of capital, we plan to retain molfar.io as long as humanly possible. 

We now have a completely functional app on the App Store thanks to molfar.io's efforts. Hiring an in-house developer can cost us a six-figure, and with the team's help, we've saved a lot. Moreover, our average session duration per day has gone from 5 minutes to 13 minutes. 

How did molfar.io perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve rapidly changed things based on customer feedback, and they’re extremely agile. Whenever we send them updates, within a few days it’s implemented. 

molfar.io is part of our Slack channel, and they’ve been able to adapt to our internal team’s workflow seamlessly. They directly set up three streams of communication, and they ensure that everything is okay by speaking directly to the internal team. That way, I don’t have to constantly distill and report information. Overall, they push the ball forward, and they know what it takes to get things done. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their receptiveness, experience, and hardworking approach distinguish them from other service providers. They also give me updates every morning and informs me about the timeline of our deliverables. Sometimes, an output may take a month to finish, but they’ve always done their best to do things in advance.

I’ve noticed that we’ve gained a lot of users from Ukraine because of molfar.io’s work. We’re not sure if it’s their friends, family, or other people, but it would be great if we could hear feedback from them.

I’m working with molfar.io to create the software platform. They’re building the platform that will allow us to present it to people and collect donations for charities.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve started from scratch to build this Android application. We started off with meetings where we explained exactly what we wanted. They’re developing the software that will enable us to place multiple different charities on the home screen, which will be presented to customers next to a POS system at a retail store or supermarket.

They’re building it to give the consumer the ability to select the charity of their choice, the amount they want to donate, and then the ability to use their bank card to donate. Once we’ve gotten through testing the concept of the platform, we’ll move into other aspects of the development with them.

The quality has been fantastic. They do exactly as they’re asked and give us plenty of help and advice. They’ve actually changed a few of our opinions on how to do certain things, which has been great 

How did molfar.io perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication-wise, they’ve been fantastic and on a different level. Previous to the project starting, they gave us a sprint-by-sprint breakdown of what they were going to do and gave us a projected finish line. The only reason they didn’t meet that end-date was purely on our side with changing the scope of work, COVID-19 restrictions, or holidays getting in the way.

As far as meeting deadlines, they’ve pretty much done everything on time when we’ve asked. We use WhatsApp for messaging each other and try to do a weekly Zoom call so we can be face-to-face.

Their high quality is one thing, but I’m blown away by their communication and attention to detail. Their work ethic also stands out.
