Please describe your company and your position there.

I own and act as an electronics engineer for Tuctronics. Our company creates equipment for agricultural control and monitoring.

For what projects/services did your company hire Nabus Development?

We hired Nabus to create our web, Android, and iOS app from the ground up. They started with only code examples and documentation.

What were your goals for this project?

We want to create the world’s best agricultural app for irrigation.

How did you select this vendor?

I screened many vendors on Guru. Then, I hired three vendors and paid them to do the same task as an initial test. Nabus did the best of all three vendors, so I hired them.

Describe the project in detail.

The project involves creating an agricultural control and monitoring system with a focus on soil moisture. The system shows charts of common irrigation parameters. It uses Google Earth maps along with QR codes and the camera for site pictures.

What was the team composition?

We’re working with a programmer, a project manager, and a supervisor. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our clients have shared positive feedback about the system that Nabus built. The solution makes looking at moisture charts much easier and more portable.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our company has a great workflow with Nabus. We share a Skype chat and talk almost every work day. I have called Nabus for help during off hours, and they always respond whenever I need assistance.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their strong organization skills get great results. The whole team works together well and knows the project in great detail. Everyone involved wants the project to be successful.

Nabus helps me make productive decisions. If I suggest something that might harm the system’s performance, they’ll let me know before we spend our development money.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Our first project manager was more friendly. We now have a second project manager who’s less friendly but improving. We still don't know this new person’s name; he or she just goes by “PM” on Skype. However, both project managers have been effective.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Nabus Development?

We were looking to expand our development team and capabilities. We are a small company and were looking to add resources. That's where Nabus Development came in to help us out.

Nabus Development was responsible for web development and post-launch maintenance of our website. They implemented Java, Spring, Hibernate, and MySQL for the project.

How did you come to work with Nabus Development?

We reached out to Nabus and gave them a preliminary test to evaluate their capabilities and quality of work. They performed well, so we hired them.

What was the financial cost of the project?

I would like to keep this confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted about nine months and ended in early 2015.
