Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The scope of work was focused primarily on the backend, API architecture, and SDK layer of our drone operations platform.

Key deliverables included migrating legacy API functionality to a modern API v2 architecture, redesigning and implementing backend endpoints, improving API consistency and maintainability, and supporting the transition toward a cleaner and more scalable backend structure.

Light IT also contributed to the implementation of automated SDK generation, creating type-safe and reliable contracts between the API and its consumers.

Additional work included improving error handling, standardizing data models, reducing technical debt, and strengthening the overall architecture and code quality of the backend platform.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project delivered clear progress across our backend and API modernization roadmap. A substantial portion of the legacy API was successfully migrated to the new API v2 architecture, allowing us to progressively reduce our dependency on the previous implementation.

We also introduced automated SDK generation, which established a consistent and type-safe contract between the backend and frontend. This reduced manual integration work, improved development efficiency, and helped identify API contract issues earlier in the development process.

Additional measurable outcomes included the delivery of new production-ready endpoints, the removal of duplicated and legacy code, more standardized data models and error handling, and improved maintainability across the backend codebase.

These improvements created a stronger technical foundation for future product development, third-party integrations and made it easier for our internal teams to build and integrate new features.

They are highly responsive to our needs, proactive in identifying potential issues, and flexible when priorities changed.

They demonstrated strong ownership of his work and collaborated effectively with our frontend, and robotics engineers to deliver practical, production-ready solutions.

Light IT Global’s engineers enhanced our existing development team and supported us during the development of a cutting-edge data intelligence platform for an EU-based retail company, which we were implementing from scratch. They were particularly helpful in such areas of back-end and AI development as the solution’s architecture, AI transparency and explainability mechanisms, as well as multilayered semantic search.

Combined Query Logic implementation allowed the system to produce meaningful, relevant, and reliable insights, which are crucial for the retail industry.

Besides the work on assigned tasks, the developers were also providing consulting regarding the next steps in the development that were planned once the agreed scope was delivered.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We required a well-rounded Agile team skilled in web development for outstaffing purposes. The goal was to provide the existing team with more human resources to complete the development process in time without compromising the quality of the application.   Light IT Global not only provided the required amount of top tech specialists but also supported those areas of implementation (both frontend and backend development) that needed assistance. As the work on the web app had to be finished before a specific deadline, they made sure to incorporate techniques and approaches that made the development process quicker and more efficient. The final product is dynamic, scalable, meets all cybersecurity requirements, and is easy to use.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A fully functioning web application that is ready for the market launch. The development process that otherwise would have taken over a year to complete lasted 6 months, which allowed the business to focus on strategic goals and further scaling.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

With many years of experience working with various vendors who provide different IT services, our company understands what effective project management should look like. I’m happy to say Light IT Global didn’t drop a ball on this aspect of cooperation.

Their main strength is transparency. The team did a great job eliminating any blind spots or questionable matters through respectful discussion. They delivered the pre-discussed amount of work according to the stated estimations, and did their best to accommodate additional requests as they appeared.

What was your primary form of communication with Light IT Global?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I would name the team’s willingness to go above and beyond to make the final product as technically flawless as possible. When there were ways to make the software more stable, secure, or robust, they voiced their suggestions, and in the end, such an approach benefited the product greatly. It’s refreshing to see such a proactive team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Light IT Global could have done differently?

The only thing I would suggest is to expand their talent pool even further so that the company could take on more projects simultaneously.

Designing and developing a web application from scratch, front-end, back-end, and DevOps. The application went live four years ago, and engagement with LightIT has continued since then, with smaller packages, improvements, and modifications.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was delivered successfully at the end. Although the team initially exceeded the budget, there was a significant learning curve.

Communication is key to virtual collaboration.

Documentation and organizing work activities, as well as project management, helped the project succeed.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

When we started the project, they didn't deliver on time or on budget.
However, in the latest engagements (this year and last year), they deliver as expected.

What was your primary form of communication with Light IT Global?

Virtual Meeting

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication, project management, clean code, documentation, and capabilities in Java frameworks and deep experience in DevOps.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Light IT Global could have done differently?

Working with this company has been a disappointing experience. Customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority for them, starting from the CEO down to the management team. Instead of focusing on long-term partnerships, they adopt a rigid, transactional approach that leaves clients feeling undervalued.

The company also demonstrates a limited understanding of global business practices and cultural sensitivity, which makes collaboration with international clients particularly challenging. Professionalism at the leadership level is lacking, and it reflects negatively on the entire organization.

Their pricing structure is another primary concern. Costs have risen significantly, and their services are not affordable for startups or businesses operating with limited budgets. When I attempted to sign a maintenance contract, the proposed fees were unreasonably high and unjustifiable.

Additionally, the availability and reliability of their resources are poor. Front-end developers are frequently overbooked, DevOps support is inconsistent, and overall staffing capacity appears to be stretched across too many projects simultaneously.

In short, this company is not customer-centric, inflexible in negotiations, and fails to deliver the level of professionalism and support that global clients expect.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Overall I was highly impressed by the level of communication, clarity on explanations and ability to meet the expectations for our needs in terms of features. We had a clear project goal and scope definition which was met as expected.

Light IT's effectiveness of risk identification by the number of potential risks identified and the development of corresponding mitigation strategies were also eye-opening for us in terms of us being exposed to new things that we didn't even consider in the first place.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Their team's assessment of information gathering was efficient and effective. I must also specifically highlight the quality of the Project Manager, one of the best I've seen in terms of assessing the comprehensiveness and relevance of gathered data, aiming for a high percentage of key insights derived. All timelines and the budget estimation were also met. My expectations was highly exceeded overall.

Nope, not to my knowledge. Their seamless execution of the project reflects their commitment to excellence and professionalism within the healthcare industry. In 2019, we presented the MVP of our product, and in 2020, we fully launched the platform. As we started to accumulate a customer base, it became clear that our product required some major revamping. We presented the new and improved platform in 2022, and we invited Light IT Global to work on it.

The big challenge was to make our platform flexible and customizable. Also, to create a single knowledgebase of all available training materials in the company and integrate it with existing HR tools and other systems. Now the system can be integrated with many third-party tools and platforms to provide a complete experience for all participants in the learning process.
