LevelUp Leads supported both our sales outsourcing and email marketing efforts. The engagement started with understanding what PlugSecure does, the types of organizations we serve, the problems we solve, and the kinds of decision-makers who would be most relevant. That initial understanding was important because our sales process is not comparable to selling a simple software subscription. A typical prospect may have multiple people involved in a technology or cybersecurity decision. Someone responsible for cybersecurity may care about threat exposure, while an engineering leader may be more focused on reliability and operational continuity. An executive may be more concerned with business risk and the consequences of infrastructure disruption. LevelUp Leads worked with us to account for those differences.

One thing that was particularly useful was the combination of email marketing and sales outreach. Rather than sending emails and treating the campaign as finished once the message went out, the process created opportunities for conversations and follow-up. For example, when a prospect opened the conversation but wasn't immediately ready to schedule a meeting, the follow-up process gave us another opportunity to understand their situation rather than simply marking the contact as unresponsive. There were also situations where a prospect's role suggested they were relevant but their responsibilities were not quite aligned with our offering. That type of feedback helped improve the targeting process over time.

The most meaningful result was the development of a more organized outbound sales process. LevelUp Leads helped us establish a clearer path from identifying an account to reaching the appropriate stakeholder and creating a potential sales conversation.

One of the useful outcomes was that we began to see patterns in how different audiences responded to our messaging. For example, a technical stakeholder might respond more strongly to the cybersecurity and reliability aspects of our offering, while an executive might be more interested in the broader business implications of protecting critical infrastructure. That distinction helped us understand that our outreach shouldn't rely on one generic message. Another valuable outcome was the quality of feedback coming from prospects. In cybersecurity, silence from a prospect doesn't always mean the solution isn't relevant. It can mean the timing isn't right, the wrong stakeholder was contacted, or the prospect needs a different explanation of the problem. The conversations generated through the campaign helped us distinguish between those situations.

The project management was one of the easier parts of the engagement. The LevelUp Leads team maintained regular communication with us and was receptive when we needed to make changes to targeting or messaging. Because PlugSecure works in a technical and specialized industry, we occasionally needed to clarify terminology or explain why certain prospects were more valuable than others. The team was willing to take that feedback on board. There was also a practical benefit to having an external sales team handling the initial outreach. Our internal team could concentrate more on technical conversations and qualified opportunities instead of spending large amounts of time researching contacts and sending first-touch messages. When we wanted to adjust the messaging, the process didn't feel unnecessarily complicated. We could explain what we were seeing from the market and work with the team to make the appropriate changes. The campaign activities were organized around a clear workflow, from prospect research through outreach, follow-up, qualification, and handoff.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The biggest thing that stood out was their ability to operate in a specialized market without treating the campaign like a generic lead-generation exercise.
Cybersecurity for critical infrastructure requires credibility.
You cannot approach an energy-sector organization with the same message you would use for a general B2B software company.
The prospect needs to understand why the issue matters to their particular environment.
I remember one situation where a prospect initially appeared to be a straightforward cybersecurity lead, but after looking more closely at the organization, it became clear that the operational reliability side of our proposition was just as important.
That type of distinction made the outreach more relevant.
I also appreciated that the team was willing to learn from the responses they were getting.
Instead of simply saying, "The prospect isn't interested," they could bring back questions such as what the prospect was concerned about, what part of the message caught their attention, or why they weren't ready to move forward.
That information was useful to us because sales outreach can also function as a source of market intelligence.
Another thing I appreciated was the persistence of the team without making the outreach feel unnecessarily aggressive.
In enterprise cybersecurity, decision cycles can be long. A company may recognize a problem without having an immediate purchasing window. The ability to maintain professional follow-up without damaging the relationship was important.

Are there any areas for improvement or something LevelUp Leads could have done differently?

The engagement was positive overall, but there are still areas where the process could become even stronger. The biggest opportunity would be to continue increasing the depth of account research.
For PlugSecure, the quality of a prospect depends heavily on its infrastructure, operating environment, technology landscape, regulatory requirements, and level of cybersecurity maturity.
More detailed account-level intelligence before outreach could make already-targeted campaigns even more precise.
I would also recommend continuing to develop highly segmented messaging. For example, a cybersecurity executive, an engineering leader, and a senior business executive may all care about the same underlying problem but describe it differently.
Creating dedicated messaging paths for those audiences could make the campaigns even more effective.
The important thing is that LevelUp Leads was receptive to feedback and willing to adjust the process as we learned more.

We’ve increased our qualified meetings by more than four times compared to our previous monthly average. The increase in qualified meetings has materially strengthened our sales pipeline and improved top-of-funnel consistency. While we haven’t yet realized direct revenue impact due to our 3–6 month sales cycle, the quality of conversations and pipeline moment give us strong confidence in downstream conversion.

Their responsiveness to requests has been impressive. They work with real velocity and don't let things sit. When we've asked for changes to messaging, adjustments to target parameters or any other modifications, they've turned things around quickly. The team proactively communicates about timelines and keeps us informed throughout the process, which has made the partnership smooth and efficient.

What stands out most is their genuine commitment to getting results combined with their flexibility. Many agencies operate rigidly within their standard processes, but LevelUp Leads has been willing to adapt and adjust their approach based on what's actually working. They don't just execute a playbook and call it done. They actively collaborate with us, respond quickly to feedback and iterate on strategy to improve outcomes. Their velocity and responsiveness have also been impressive. The team moves fast without sacrificing quality, which has allowed us to test and refine our outreach much faster than we anticipated. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something LevelUp Leads could have done differently?

One area for improvement would be the polish and consistency of the BDR's communication with prospects. We understand it can be challenging to answer detailed questions when you don't work directly for the company, but we did find ourselves coaching the BDR on the same topics multiple times. It would have been helpful if that feedback had been retained and applied more consistently. That said, this is a relatively minor issue in an otherwise strong partnership, and the team has been receptive to our coaching.

We've had one training session and completed a questionnaire. We reviewed the questionnaire with an account manager and ran their sales team through a sales presentation about the script. We meet with them once a week.

LevelUp Leads follows our system processes and scripts, and their team has developed new ones. They use a series of AI tools made available to the public. LevelUp Leads also pays for various subscriptions and list-building software, such as PitchBook, which they use to extract contact information.

What is the team composition?

We work with an account manager and a salesperson. The salesperson makes around 400 calls a day within a 2–3-hour period using a multi-dialer tool.

LevelUp Leads has done an excellent job. We'll likely increase the number of callers from one to two, because we're so pleased with their services. LevelUp Leads' account manager is very sophisticated. Their caller is excellent, learns well, takes feedback, and has worked with us to tune the script. He's helping us build our script because he's getting so much feedback, which has helped us hone our messaging.

They've set up 10–20 meetings, which is a lot for this industry. They've exceeded our expectations in every category.

How did LevelUp Leads perform from a project management standpoint?

LevelUp Leads delivers the work on time and within budget. They communicate well. We use Slack and Google Meet. Their services are simple, and we can manage the project with phone calls and meetings.

The team was super responsive, tailored their approach to our needs and - best of all - was proactively iterating and partnering to improve outcomes. I appreciated their commitment, professionalism and overall investment in our company and this project. 

For instance, in one of our projects we had early success (meeting set in the first few days) and the other took refinement over the course of 2-3 weeks - the original list we provided was large, they segemented an built audiences, they roated and tweaked those audiences until they saw connection & conversations rates increase and then doubled down once they found the sweet spots.

LevelUp Lead's Tech Stack - out of all the vendors I reviewed, their tech stack of tools, data enrichment liscense, etc was the most robust and - for us - data is the backbone of all prospection efforts

Programmatic Choice - LevelUp Leads adapts to the client's project needs, many vendors that I ruled out early on were rigid e.g. we'll only work with you if we can own the entire GTM motion - LevelUp Leads can certainly do that, but if you have a unique or specialize project in mind, they're really your best option.

Are there any areas for improvement or something LevelUp Leads could have done differently?

This is more of an Orum issue than LevelUp leads - they provide a ton of great data. I was keen to understand contact coverage, account coverage and # of dials per contact / account. Since they were parallel dialing, this was challenging to extract so - net net - I am certain of their # of dials, their # of connects / conversations & with whom they took place but I'm unable to decern if we called X account 0 times or 100 times.

I'm keen to understand this so I can draw statistically significant conclusion around where they phone is likely to be least and most effective after LevelUp made 100k+ dials.

For instance, thanks to their targeted approach, we secured partnerships with two large event management firms that had never previously considered Westgate for annual conferences.
