The project was very difficult to communicate in terms of user requirements because it’s a very niche application. We used Slack and another communication tool.  The communication was smooth, and I was able to convey an abstract idea and the team would turn around with a mockup that fit my expectations closely.  I was actually surprised by how close they were able to get with the limited information I provided. We were inexperienced in the software development system, and they recommended a bunch of utilities to track progress and to have meetings. Everything was extremely well-organized, and I knew exactly where to find each developer. I was able to look at not only the application where I could actually test, but also look into the source code. Even though the tools were all new to me, I felt like they were very easy and I could learn them in no time.  The team leader committed about 2–3 hours per day, and then the rest of the team worked the remaining 5–6 hours.
