We were spending a lot of money on digital marketing and not seeing the results we wanted. We needed help to increase our customer base by getting new leads from our website.

We pulled Ladybugz Interactive into our project to manage the website and our digital marketing strategy. We were already working with a web developer and a content writer, but we needed someone who was an expert we could count on to pull it all together into a successful campaign.

I have been watching the company’s CEO for a few years, she has been very involved in women’s leadership in our region. We met a few years back and we kept in touch over that time.

She was recently featured on the cover of the Boston Business Journal which really impressed me and I have seen what she has done in the agency world. Being an entrepreneur woman myself I thought working with a women-owned agency would be a great move.

We reached a point where we really needed a digital agency partner to help grow our business to the next level and she was my first choice

As soon as Golden Group Roofing hired Ladybugz, we got down to business. We strategized what needed to be done and set to it, using the team of experts we already had and the Ladybugz team.

First off they laid the groundwork for SEO and what we needed to tackle to get our website to rank in the searches we desired. Ladybugz worked with our web developer to reorganize and simplify the layout, architecture and functionality of our website.

As soon as we completed those changes we saw immediate results. Right now we are seeing a 200% increase in SEO traffic over last year, and seeing improved conversions from our Ad program. Our site is faster, cleaner and easier for people to book appointments which is our end goal.

The team consisted of a SEO strategist/account manager, a Google Ads expert, two video production experts and a social media coordinator. They also worked closely with some other freelancers we had working on the account including an outside web developer and content writer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Immediately our site speed was improved along with the first goal of improving our site’s usability and architecture. We saw the website work impact and improve conversions on our ad campaigns as soon as we implemented the changes.

We have been working on SEO for a few months and already we’ve seen a huge increase in traffic year over year, in November approximately 200%. Our content is improved and we see more people visiting those pages, along with ongoing improvements in SEO rankings on Google.

This is an ongoing project, and the performance and knowledge of the team has always been excellent. Each month we set out to accomplish specific goals and we’ve been meeting those goals from the beginning.

We now have a content marketing calendar that has deadlines for our writers so that blog posts happen on time to meet our SEO needs. Our SEO rankings keep increasing, and our Google Adword Conversions have increased and we only started in September.

We are excited to see where we will land as a business in the Spring

This company provides expert knowledge. We could not find a partner to put all of the pieces together for us, but the team at Ladybugz was able to help us get moving and start achieving our goals.

There are a number of experts working on our project, so we have all of our bases covered with expertise. They come to the table with solutions to your problems and a strategy for growth.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We would love to do everything they have suggested NOW but due to our budget we have to spread out the work over the season. Otherwise we’d spend and do more.

I’m a member of the Business Development Committee for a bustling town in Massachusetts. This was the precursor to the nonprofit to which I am now the VP.

This group manages a district from which it collects annual fees from the landlords and uses them in ways to maintain and promote visitors, beautification, and events in the district.

I know the owner personally from other businesses she has done work for. She had done work with other towns in the area and we were impressed with those past projects. She is also highly involved in local business associations and town events and organizations.

Ladybugz Interactive architected and designed a custom WordPress website that is not just attractive, but has helped us expand the brand of the town. They helped walk us through architecting the site, building content and photos, design and build-out. They also host and support the website for us.

We worked with the company owner and a web designer. We also needed photographs and the owner coordinated a photographer that met exactly what we were looking for.

The Discover Hudson website is really the only showcase website for the downtown region. When people Google our town the site comes up at the top of the list and we feel it gives users a feel of the experience when they do come to our town.

The management schedule was flexible and adaptable to our needs. We had regularly scheduled meetings by phone and in person. There were also two presentation meeting when Ladybugz presented ideas and progress check-ins with the client's larger group.

There was an online scheduler that was always accessible to me so that I can get on the owner's schedule for a meeting that suited me. I was in control so that was a nice touch and I felt that I always had access when I needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ladybugz Interactive had a way being our partner with the incentives being aligned exactly. We always felt that they were invested in the outcome we needed as opposed to this just being a gig for them. It was just so comforting and professional at the same time.

We met with a total of 3 different members of the LadyBugz team throughout our meetings, the project manager Lysa, and two developers, Frank and Pankaj. Everyone we interacted with was great!

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our site was launched this week and our whole team is very happy with the results. All of our new content is posted to the site, and we can seamlessly make edits ourselves.

We had multiple virtual video conferences with the project manager and developers. Constantly stayed in communication throughout the process via email and Trello messaging board.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very friendly and open about their services and what they can do. Also (Lysa especially), they bring enthusiasm to each meeting that gets us excited about web development! They even finished ahead of the short timeline we asked for.

The first project was to migrate and build a new website on the WordPress Platform. We then went on to continue to build content that was built for SEO and social media. Our web traffic has increase over 400% since then and our social media channels are in the thousands which helps us to build our brand on many levels.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our website has been great, it looks professional and highly competes with other local and national moving companies. We keep it updated and it has served as a lead generation tool for our business. Our social media presences have grown and we continue to get calls, leads and tons of reviews from customers. We publish content that keeps us engaged in our communities.

We had a marketing consultant on our side that managed everything and she works with Ladybugz on several client engagements so that was very seamless. They have a solid process but they are flexible and easy to work with.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I always find their ability to be innovative and problem solving very impressive. They are always introducing us to new things.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wish we could spend more with them! I would love to have them tackle all of our marketing but we are just not there budget wise yet, we love working with them for sure!

I am a franchise owner of a multi-location respiratory therapy company. I was put in charge of creating a multi-location website for the business that would allow us to have a cohesive brand managed from one platform.

Ladybugz Interactive architected, designed and developed and built a multi-location website for our Respiratory Therapy Business that has four franchised locations. They also implemented a local SEO strategy that makes it easy to find local clients at each location of the business.

What were your goals for this project?

To have an easy to manage cohesive website to promote our brand and get clients locally.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

This vendor was referred to us from another healthcare business here in Canada. Although they are US-based, we knew the owner was Canadian and was familiar with the area and market. We reviewed other client's in Canada with similar goals to us including a veterinary hospital chain in Toronto.

We felt Ladybugz really understood our needs and the proof was in the client's they'd served. We even read through their testimonials, did our own SEO research and felt they really had a nice nice here, helping multi-location small businesses and franchises. Also their solution fit our budget.

Describe the project in detail.

First we went through a branding exercise with our own design team and redesigned the logo. We were able to take that look and feel and create a nice cohesive look and feel that gave all of our locations a professional consistent image. This was new to us.

The team architected the site and came up with the navigation scheme and we approved that. They gave us a guideline for the content they needed and all the assets that would be required to make the project go fast and be successful. They built the website first and it was live (I'm not sure how they did this but it was really efficient).

Once we approved the design and layout they just built the site, on a live-working platform so we could see progress. Once the whole thing was built, they tested it to make sure it was all working and allowed us to take a couple weeks to make sure we were happy.

Launch was easy and seamless! Poof we had a whole new website for the business we started from the ground up in a small town.

What was the team composition?

The team included four people, an account manager who was the business owner, a designer and development expert and another person who was a junior designer assisting with the production.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Before the website, we had very limited small business websites that did not rank in Google. Now we consistent leads from our website and business is good, because we look like a professional but local brand and that really speaks to people.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was pretty easy since they asked us for everything up front, we delivered what they needed. It was a lot of content but we had it all luckily, including photos of products, and all of our services. Once we approved things the process was very fast and we had little involvement. We really trusted them to run with things which was nice. We had more involvement in the SEO strategy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were just really easy to work with, and their processes were solid but not inflexible. Flexibility was important to us, we changed a few things along the way and they were fine with the changes and always educated us on what that would mean, like more time, or increased budget etc.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement in any business. I can't think of anything from our experience, but we loved how personal this business was. I would say just to continue to have that, you are right next door, feel. Boston and Alberta are far away, but we felt like they were local because they understood us so much..

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our organization has grown, the website has saved us time and money in registrations, and given us more time to promote our education programs. The efficiency of the website helps us to keep things up to date and front and center. Also the website is easily found in search engines, and we have seen an increase in interest and registrations overall since we launched our website back in 2015.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project went very well. We had a kickoff meeting, where we met the designer and the rest of the team. We talked about our goals, reviewed our content and gave them examples of where we wanted to go.

The team ran with that and came back to us with some pretty impressive ideas and designs. From there we moved onto to more design work that we approved and gave the go ahead to go and build.

Once the site was completed, and there was a lot of content (over 200 faculty members) the site was thoroughly tested and working perfectly before we launched. The launch was seamless and we’ve had no issues with our website since we have launched it.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They came to the table with some ideas. We didn’t really know where we wanted to go, but they were open to brainstorming and helping guide us through the process. They helped us make decisions we were unsure about and that helped move us along a lot faster than if they’d left everything up to us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We felt that everything ran perfectly and smoothly. We could not have been happier. There is always room for improvement in companies and I would just say, stay small and personable that is why we love working with you.

We gave Ladybugz information about our firm, then they submitted design ideas to us. When we agreed upon a design, they built the site in WordPress. We continued to provide them with updates to our portfolio and company information so they could revise the site. We now work with a design and digital marketing agency affiliated with Ladybugz to make further updates to the site.

We initially worked with Lysa (Founder and Partner, Ladybugz Interactive Agency), who is now the VP of sales and marketing for the affiliate agency, so we continue to work with her.

I am an ADHD coach running ADHD Essentials. I take part in speaking engagements, staff development, and work one-on-one with ADHD kids and their parents, helping them navigate the challenges of this disorder.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ladybugz Interactive Agency?

If you don’t have a website, you don’t exist. Mine wasn’t that great, and I needed to step it up a bit and add more multimedia elements. I can write, and I can work with ADHD sufferers, but, when it comes to building a website, I have no idea. I needed a local partner whom I could visit physically in order to specify what I wanted to be changed or added.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ladybugz Interactive completely redesigned my WordPress site. They asked me what I wanted the site to look like, and were interested in customizing it to me. I gave examples of websites that I liked, and also looked at Ladybugz’s other work. Because I have a graphic designer, I came up with the color scheme, which had already been tied to business cards and material I use during presentations. They used this as a basis, and filled in any holes. I didn’t feel a need to modify the final result too much, but there was give-and-take, so Ladybugz was open to any changes I wanted to make.

They also took care of SEO, helping my site be seen online, and designed a landing page for one of my e-books. I haven’t asked Ladybugz for any content marketing services, but I’m sure they could provide this. Mostly, I wanted the website to be finished, since I have a full-time job. I haven’t dived too deeply into other details.

They added a copy based on some samples provided by them. I know what my business is, so I was comfortable doing this. Ladybugz made sure that the site was connected with my various social media pages, and basically gave me a home online. They structured it well, based on an understanding of web design and living on the internet.

The site has many of the usual components, including a contact form, a Home page, and an About Me page. There is also a section which talks about the ADHD disorder, a piece on the services I provide, and a media page containing some books, podcasts, and other material. I haven’t been doing enough with the last one, but that is my fault.

I found out about them through my graphic artist. I contacted Ladybugz, and they understood what I wanted. I also appreciated that they’re 20 minutes away from me.

The cost of their work was between $1,000 and $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Ladybugz Interactive in September 2016. The site took 1 month to complete.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I’m not good at tracking metrics, but my email referrals have tripled or quadrupled. I receive between 5 and 10 inquiries per week, entirely due to the website.

How did Ladybugz Interactive Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

I dragged the project by not providing information, but they could have delivered it much quicker. Ladybugz has been easy to work with, and they know what they’re doing. I was kept informed about our general progress and deadlines. I really like the fact that they’re 20 minutes away, and I can visit them if I want to. The team is friendly, and I can actually joke around with them. This is exactly the kind of atmosphere I want to work in.

I’ve gone to their office whenever I had a question, and I find Ladybugz’ team phenomenal as people. It’s clear that everyone enjoys each other’s company, and that they like working there. They’re welcoming and interested in talking about my ideas. We have been discussing things beyond the website, including me setting up some workshops for Ladybugz.

The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce is a B2B organization focused on economic development in the region. Under the chamber umbrella, we have a few other affiliates, including the North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation and the Johnny Appleseed Trail Association. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Ladybugz Interactive Agency?

When we reached out to Ladybugz, we wanted to do a website redesign amidst a full-scale rebranding effort. Our chamber has operated for 30 years, so it was time for an update. Ladybugz provided a logo redesign and some printed materials and redesigned our website, which was very outdated at the time.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with the logo in order to pinpoint our color base. Next, on our end, we looked up other relevant chambers and business associations’ websites that have been nominated for national awards. We wanted to find a good example of our goals. We sent those ideas to Ladybugz, and they proposed different designs and templates. After some back and forth, we finally settled on a design. They populated it and worked with us to get the right photos from our database. They used WordPress to develop the website.

Ladybugz had to work with our database company (Steve Boyle and Associates [SBA]) to make sure that the pages work, are secure, and look seamless when people are navigating our site. That was one of our biggest challenges. They’ve also helped us with some SEO.

We’re a dynamic organization, and we host 130 events a year. Ladybugz did some work for our other organizations as well. Last fall, the designed a new website for the North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation. When we started a regional gift card program, they did that website. The challenge with that program was we needed the right certificates to take payments securely. Our tourism website, Johnny Appleseed Trail Association, was designed 4 years ago by another company. Ladybugz troubleshot that website and kept it running without any issues.

How did you come to work with Ladybugz Interactive Agency?

We started working with Ladybugz when we were looking to redesign our website. We sent off an RFP to every web designer in the North Central Massachusetts area. We got a number of proposals back, and they quickly became a top choice. After the interview process, we chose them to work on our website. In order to preserve the same look and feel across all of our affiliates, we asked them to do other websites as well.

How much have you invested with Ladybugz Interactive Agency?

For the 3 separate websites, we’ve spent around 50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We last worked together 2 years ago. They host all 3 of our major websites, plus our 2 mini-sites. We’re still partnering with them, and we’re looking to redesign our tourism website in the upcoming fiscal year.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

We track numbers through our online event registrations, which has been significantly higher. With our previous chamber website, a lot of people had to call to register for events due to the insufficient system. That’s no longer the case. We also track our SEO, but I don’t have any of those numbers available.

How did Ladybugz Interactive Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

They were awesome, especially during the first project. Chambers are normally short-staffed, but we’re fairly large with a staff of 12. I and our president mainly worked on the redesign. Even when dealing with a variety of roles, they kept us on track while also giving us the time and space that we needed to do all of our other work.

I brag about their customer service. No matter what issue we’ve had—even on a weekend or late at night—they’ve always been right there with us. They’re always happy to help with minor edits or quick changes to make the sites as effective as possible.
