What challenge were you trying to address with JetSoftPro?

We have our own developers in Ukraine, but sometimes we need more capacity, as well as competencies not present in our own team. In this case, it was a combination of both.

What was the scope of their involvement?

For the past year, they've provided one developer who’s worked for our clients in Norway. We have a range of clients who demand all kinds of IT development, and are using JetSoftPro for a couple of them. They currently provide .NET development.

What is the team composition?

Our main contact changed over time. They had a change of ownership a year ago, so our contact changed at that point. We’ve been in touch with a customer relation or salesperson on a monthly basis, for reporting and invoicing, and we communicate directly with the developer on a daily basis.

How did you come to work with JetSoftPro?

We found them through our own department in Lviv, Ukraine. They knew each other so the collaboration goes back a few years; we’ve been using JetSoftPro on and off for quite some time.

How much have you invested with them?

For the last 12 months, we’ve averaged $5,000–$6,000 per month. The overall cost is close to $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around 2013 and worked together for around a year. We started using them again almost two years ago and the current engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve only used them for work on behalf of our own clients. The current client is happy with JetSoftPro’s developer; the client wanted to keep the resource and that's our measurement for their work.

How did JetSoftPro perform from a project management standpoint?

We do manage them, and our CTO has tried to maintain some control over the deliveries, but the daily management is done on their side. I know if there is a problem because our client will call me. We’ve had a few small issues, but they were solved, and there hasn’t been anything to report over the last month. They’re responsive to our feedback and questions. We communicate with them through email and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the quality of the developers JetSoftPro provides.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since they’re working for our clients, and we have an indirect relationship, they could give us more feedback on the work done and on what we could do to expand our own relationships with the clients. This might lead to more work for JetSoftPro as well.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I would recommend using them and I have no special concerns. They've shown that they're a trustworthy company; they have okay quality and, if there are issues, they make sure those are solved.

I am the founder of a software company. It’s a portfolio management system for investors of residential mortgage loans.

We needed assistance in building out the platform and the technology.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I built the wireframes and scoped out what the system should look and feel like. They managed the backend development, implemented the necessary features, and ensured the functionality of the platform. The system allows users to set the parameters of queries on the site, and they can import data in any format. The platform is built using ASP.NET MVC and uses C# as the computer language.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two senior developers.

How did you come to work with JetSoftPro?

We worked with an Indian company prior to working with JetSoftPro, but I had concerns about their quality and their communication. I conducted an online search for different vendors and interviewed five or six before transitioning the project to JetSoftPro. The combination of cost and skillset is why we selected them.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project lasted from January 2017 through April 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The features that they implemented were critical for us to receive some strong interest in the application from prospective clients.

How did JetSoftPro perform from a project management standpoint?

Using Wrike, they generally met all of our expectations from a project management standpoint.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We would have appreciated more oversight from their senior management. I think they left a little too much in the hands of the developers.

Any advice for potential customers?

We would recommend ensuring that the scope of the project is fully established and that expectations are set in advance. Having a good project management tool in place is vital, as well.

Humboldt Solutions is a consultancy and software development house working mainly for Aston Barclay Auctions, which is a vehicle auction house in the United Kingdom.

What challenge were you trying to address with Neadevis?

We needed a new platform for delivering vehicle auctions over the internet in real time. We had fairly broad auctions in terms of technical choices and wanted to integrate with our Windows infrastructure. Neither of us had skills in that area, so we needed to find a reliable partner who would work under a tight timeframe.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Neadevis developed our platform. At its peak, our team from Neadevis included two developers, as well as another assistant. Our particular problem made it more sensible to work with a single person who understood the work very well and have a second developer available for emergencies.

How did you come to work with Neadevis?

I found Neadevis through Elance. They stood out among the massive onslaught of proposals that come after posting a job on such a site, in the sense that Neadevis had actually read my request and demonstrated skills in the correct area. We had some Skype calls which proved that assumption.

How much have you invested with Neadevis?

The cost of Neadevis' work has been between €10,000 and €50,000 [USD $10,000 and $53,000].

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Neadevis in early 2015. The first version of our platform was launched on time, and we've since made a number of minor feature changes using Neadevis. We rearchitected the second release after a 9-month period, which went smoothly. Neadevis is currently working on new features for a third release.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I don't have any specific metrics to share since this isn't a requirement from our client. I can mention that, on a typical business day, we have sold several hundred vehicles across four locations using the platform built by Neadevis.

How did Neadevis perform from a project management standpoint?

Neadevis was good in this regard and worked with our tools in a straightforward way. We host our own bug tracker and Git instance and had Skype sessions open for dealing with questions and issues. We didn't involve Neadevis in a more structured Agile process because they had well-defined boundaries for their work. Task management was kept internal, with brief daily or weekly updates, depending on the phase of our project. Neadevis is a small, self-managing team, but being a software house ourselves did help to define specifications and boundaries.

What did you find most impressive about Neadevis?

Neadevis' key strength is that they've been honest with us in terms of availability and didn't pretend to have staff that wasn't there. Neadevis was consistently straightforward to deal with throughout and offered above-average skills. The area of real-time auctions is a step above building a simple catalog shopping site, in terms of unusual challenges.

Are there any areas Neadevis could improve?

I don't think we've had any major issues with Neadevis outside of their English spelling. This isn't a big deal, given that spellchecking is a part of our process. I've also asked my colleague, who is running the day-to-day management with Neadevis, and he also can't come up with anything. Neadevis did need some time to learn our industry jargon, but this has been true for native English speakers as well.
