What challenge were you trying to address with JetSoftPro?

The biggest challenge we were trying to address was finding highly-skilled developers to keep up with the demands of the financial data industry in the US.

What was the scope of their involvement?

JetSoftPro created a login dashboard for users to load and visualize data. They first helped us analyze the data that we have, which we’ve been selling as a raw CRV file. Our clients had been asking us to deliver the product in a nice UI where users can slice and dice the data, and look at them from different angles and sectors.

We were trying to get that done locally, but there were a lot of challenges as many Python developers have a hard time visualizing the data — JetSoftPro has their own roster of data analysts and BI individuals that helped us map out new data as we needed to for our clients.

Our clients wanted to be able to view the data as a regular dashboard and for them, the biggest feature would be a large dataset and their own dashboard — most of our clients that don’t have their own dashboard have to go through their analytics department to load data into a system. It takes a while to visualize the data and that’s one of the reasons why we needed JetSoftPro.

For the backend, they used Postgres on an AWS stack using Elastic. We also tried a lot of different analytics with them including Tableau, Looker, SaaS, but none of those worked out well. Using JetSoftPro, we developed our own platform with the Postgres database and a series of JavaScript libraries to visualize the data.

Furthermore, we provided a matrix of different market comps that do the data visualization. To get the customization done, we had to give JetSoftPro samples of companies that are already doing this type of service. We have our own hosting capabilities and they’re currently helping us with maintenance and support.

There are about six people involved in this project, including a project coordinator, BI analyst, a DevOps specialist, a front- and backend developer, and a designer.

I was referred to them by a friend of mine from a previous company.

Our ongoing partnership started in February 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to JetSoftPro, we now have a full set of API and our own dashboard where clients can upload their files. The dashboard connects to our system and provides users with a matching capability to connect with private companies — it contains the data, the financials, history, and performance results.

How did JetSoftPro perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is great. They have people that are either available or they find them for us. We communicate via Asana, Skype, Google Hangouts, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that they’re very flexible. Sometimes a client will ask us for a specific type of data and when we don’t have the resources, we go to JetSoftPro for the type of individual we need to analyze the data.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s a cultural difference between our companies, so they could improve on their communication skills.

My advice is to have your own local project manager. Identify the strength and skillset you’re looking for.

The developers are doing great work, both from a technical perspective and the strategic one. On top of that, when there is some kind of comment from the client's side, concerning his satisfaction from a certain developer or a certain behavior of the developers, we get an instant professional response from JetSoftPrto. One thing is a good collaboration when things are good, another is to solve problems when there are, and they definitely do it.

It varies for every client. Mostly, sprints and deliverables.

Their customer service has been impressive. There are so many players on the market nowadays, not so many trustful partners though.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first thing JetSoftPro did was set up our server on AWS, which they continue to monitor. They’ve since helped us implement a variety of upgrades to our platform, like tweaking our registration process and making our user pages customizable to allow our users to build their profiles. 

Furthermore, we’ve tasked them to improve the social media aspect of our platform by having them add features like document sharing and group chats. In line with that, they’ve also improved our search functionality to make it easier for our customers to discover each other. JetSoftPro continues to update the platform.

We’ve worked with about 10 teammates.

A colleague referred them to us. We interviewed them along with a few other vendors, but we chose JetSoftPro because they had worked on similar projects in the past. Their rates were also very reasonable.

JetSoftPro has done an outstanding job — everything they’ve done has come out perfectly. They’re genuinely committed to the project.

How did JetSoftPro perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been excellent. We use Jire to list our different projects and tasks, and they estimate how long each would take to complete. Most of the time, they’re right on target and meet the deadlines they set.

Furthermore, they’re a team of great communicators — we always know what they’re working on. We have weekly meetings, but we’re in touch almost daily. To communicate, we use Skype and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

JetSoftPro has been a solid partner. They don’t just take our requests and do them independently, but they listen to our goals to see if they could find a better way to help us. The team always gives us options and their pros and cons, which we appreciate. They’re just wonderful people, and we love working with them.

Initially, they didn’t include the testing phase in their time estimates. However, we’ve already resolved that issue.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our organization has been around for about 10 years, and we've thought it's about time that we optimize our online platforms to maximize our reach and services. JetSoftPro supports our software development pipeline by building an application and a CMS platform for our internal operations and youth program. They work in sprints with our internal engineering team to implement these software solutions using our existing tech stack.

We've been behind our original schedule by 3–4 months since we've encountered several loopholes in the product partially developed by the previous agency we've hired. JetSoftPro has come into the picture to help us resolve all those vulnerabilities while creating new solutions that have led to the full development of our app. Our product is now live, and we've secured over 6,000 app downloads so far — it's safe to say that everyone's pleased with JetSoftPro's work.

We communicate via Slack and have weekly check-ins via Microsoft Teams, while we rely on Jira for project management. JetSoftPro is a responsive and deadline-oriented team that works efficiently with our internal development team. The tool has now been deployed to our existing customers, and is a core part of the Emex offering for all clients.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was managed by our permanent team in Lviv and the group was very effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Jetseft have been very positive with us on the project, and the make up of the team and they have gone into the marketplace and hired the staff that we required. They have also been very good to work with from a commercial perspective and have given us the flex we needed along the way with the project.

Nothing of particular concern. We seek continual improvement in all areas of our business and we pass this culture down into Jetsoft as well.

It was innovative Gecko and Tactile industry robots- revolutionizes human-robot collaboration, as it is the world’s first of its kind - a market-ready adhesive gripping solution that can easily pick up flat and smooth surfaces, e.g., solar panels and metal sheets, as well as more porous surfaces, e.g., printed circuit boards.

By eliminating the need for compressed air and hose systems, manufacturing businesses will experience a sizable reduction in energy and maintenance costs in addition to an improved work environment due to less noise and dust.

There were 2 representatives from our side: the head of the project, and the engineer who contacted the JetSoftPro team directly and he also developed the firmware, with which they connected the robotics control app via HTTP(S) protocol.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

When they get working on a project, they follow through. It’s been very refreshing to see them back up the hours that they work by itemizing each quarter-hour and notating exactly what’s being done. They’re very diligent with what is actually delivered and it allows us to go back and review things iteratively.

They definitely know what they're doing, which is the reason we've continued doing business with them. Their high-quality work is the reason they're still in the picture. With any kind of contractor, there are difficulties of not being physically in the office, but this is definitely the next best option and the bang for the buck is fantastic.

They've worked with high profile clients all the way down to startups, so they understand all mentalities. It's been great having a partner that can get it done and work alongside us, even if it's in the middle of the night.

We had daily meetings twice a week and every Friday JetSoftPro team showed us a demo. We contacted via email or on Skype and JIRA was the primary project management system we used.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their diligence and eagerness to get things right and done and provide the best value are what’s most impressive. They have great resolve skills and unexpectedly provide great quality service on the remote.

Are there any areas for improvement?

In working with any contractor, if they are not in your office, you need to provide as many details as possible and clearly articulate and communicate it. Every little detail smoothens the process for all parties involved.

We’ve provided not just mockups, but also arrows pointing to each item explaining what the item is and the exact color palettes for each mockup. But guys instead provide us back the math formulas which describe the tracks of grippers manipulators in 3D and make the track and control functions much efficient.

We turn to JetSoftPro for especially difficult development issues. They always have the expertise required to solve any issue we run into. They are particularly useful when navigating DevOps environments, as they are skilled in every pipeline tool with which we have been confronted from version control all the way to production orchestration.

What were your goals for this project?

This project accomplished many objectives. The original code in a php application was poorly written and needed to be refactored and optimized. We needed somebody who could make sense of the code and update it in preparation for provisioning additional instances for new clients in a new environment.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had the privilege of meeting the executives of JetSoftPro many years ago while visiting in Lviv, Ukraine. I kept in contact with the CEO (Serhiy) as their organization grew. I have called upon JetSoftPro for smaller projects and when I was tasked with finding a solution to this development task I was fully confident that they were equal to the task. I was able to request that some of the previous developers I had worked with also work on this project and they were able to accommodate my request.

JetSoftPro was able to organize a team perfectly matched to the project. As unexpected needs arose they were able to grow the team to add the specific talent required to resolve the issues. They were quickly able to reproduce an environment for development, establish a code repository, and begin working on functional code. Software versions were out of date, so we updated them. Security was out-dated, so we hardened the environment. Though our original focus was on development, JetSoftPro was able to modernize and automate the entire process into a DevOps pipeline, which dramatically improved the software modification process. This has made ongoing development and maintenance much better, also.

What was the team composition?

Every project with JetSoftPro always starts with a SCRUM Master/Project Leader whose primary task is to help define the project and build the SCRUM Team. This project was larger in scope than the others we have done in the past, so there were more team members. We had Developers and Operations on the team. When required our team was able to call upon additional team members for expertise needed for specific tasks. There was always accountability for the hour consumed with a breakdown of tasks associated with the hours worked by each team member.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

As the leader of an organization that faces unknown situations that often have not yet been addressed by anybody it is comforting to know that I have a team of professionals to call on. So far JetSoftPro has been able to successfully deliver solutions for everything I have asked of them. That is a level of professional confidence that cannot be overstated. I have worked in this field for over 20 years and my last five years association with JetSoftPro have been the best. It is empowering to know that I have a solution for anything on the other side of the door to my next challenge, even if my experience falls short of a solution. This greatly enhances my ability to offer solutions to enterprise customers in additional markets.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

As indicated previously, the first person assigned to your team is a SCRUM Master/Project Manager. JetSoftPro has strategically hired technically savvy team leaders with experience in IT to help define the projects and build your team. The on-boarding process was so smooth! There were weeks removed from the beginning phases of the project because of the orderly manner with which JetSoftPro quickly defined and prioritized tasks. An hour with them could very well be worth 5 hours with other development companies at the beginning of your project for this very reason.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Truly, their responsiveness to every single thing I needed. It's as if they've all been internally trained to find solutions and to minimize complications to their clients. Even though English is not the primary language of Ukraine, I was very impressed at the language competency of everybody with which I worked. There was never a language barrier, which is rare. For context, I have worked with several organizations prior to JetSoftPro in 5 non-English speaking countries and JetSoftPro was, by far, the best at clear and effective communication in English.

Are there any areas for improvement?

In all my years of working with developers, JetSoftPro is the organization in which I have the most confidence. On the rare occasion that our course has matched our plan they have gone above and beyond to fix anything. When something took longer than I thought it should my concern was immediately addressed and the hours were adjusted accordingly. I am sure there are areas for improvement, but the culture of the organization is such that they are not known to the client before they are addressed internally.
