Are there any areas for improvement or something iSkylar Technologies could have done differently?

Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience and there isn't anything significant we would have changed. If anything, providing even more frequent progress demos during certain development phases would have been a nice addition, although the team was always transparent and responsive whenever we requested updates. They consistently welcomed feedback, adapted quickly to new requirements, and maintained a collaborative approach throughout the project. It was a smooth engagement from start to finish, and we'd be happy to work with them again.

I’m the project manager at eBuyGems. We’re a manufacturer of gemstones that operates our own store.

What challenge were you trying to address with iSkylar Technologies?

I wanted a partner to help me develop an e-commerce site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our e-commerce platform on WordPress and customized a lot of plugins with PHP. They helped me create filters based on the color, segment, type of gemstone, weight, and caret that a user wants. The user can look for any product. They briefed us on all the platform’s benefits and showed us how to keep track of our work and sales with analytics. 

Apart from that, we’re proceeding with an internal project that takes care of our HR management systems, ERP, and CRM. We plan to use iSkylar Technologies for that as well, since they understand what we want. We’re laying the groundwork now, and I’m confident it’ll be a good experience.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site is live, works to our satisfaction, and gives us a global reach. We’ve seen a remarkable 4-4.5 times increase in revenue.

Before launching this platform, we used other e-commerce portals like eBay. Using our own portal gives us a lot of new opportunities. On eBay, we could see that people were looking for our products. On our own portal, they can see all our product lines and categories.

How did iSkylar Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We followed an agile methodology and had scrum meetings twice a week. We communicated over the phone most of the time, met a couple of times in person, and used Skype to share screens. I could see their progress, gauge how things looked, and give feedback in real time.

We had initial setbacks because we planned that it would be easier to develop on WordPress. We realized it would take a long time and a large budget to customize the plugins. They suggested that we choose a different platform, which fortunately worked fine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They exceeded my expectations, managed development well, and delivered on time. Working with them was a brilliant experience. They asked questions, came up with a lot of ideas, and ensured that they understood all the requirements properly. It’s been an excellent experience; I couldn’t ask for anything more.
