We already had a website when Impero IT came on board, we were just having problems with it. The team came in to solve those issues as well as add some more aspects. We wanted to have a section for some specific users to have the ability to download content from the site, which Impero IT developed. They worked on security as well. The site is built on WordPress.

I found them through an online search. I talked to the owner initially, and then I spoke to their references, who were all happy with their services. That, as well as their price, is why we decided to work with Impero IT.

We worked on this project from December 2018–February 2019, but we still go to them for our development needs.

We’re in communication every step of the way, even though there’s a time difference. We use emails, Zoom, WhatsApp, and email to stay in touch.

If you want a lot of details in your project, make sure you have them itemized, and be very clear.

They created a location-based social media app for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first stage required them to come up with designs for each screen. They created various styles and formats for me to consider. Then we discussed the UI, how it would work, and what we were looking for.

Once we agreed on how the app would function, they went into the design phase. First, they made the app for iOS devices, and then they started building it for Android devices.

The founder of Impero IT Services was involved in writing the initial contract, discussing what I was looking for, and presenting cost options. Then I started working with Mohammed (Project Manager). He is our project lead and has done the design and development.

I submitted my project to several companies that had good reviews online. They had a lot of positive feedback in their testimonials and their prices were competitive.

They clearly understand what we wanted to do. They’ve executed well and put our ideas into practice. They’ve delivered exactly what I wanted.

How did Impero IT Services Pvt. Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very responsive and positive. As the project progressed and I’ve wanted to make changes, they’ve been very receptive to my requests. Whenever I ask them to do something, they are happy to do it and they work quickly. To reach them, I call them on WhatsApp and Zoom when I needed to.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that the founder of Impero IT Services is very involved. If I ever have a problem, he is helpful and happy to talk to me. The team itself is very nice and easy to work with as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project has taken quite a long time, but I also wasn’t pushing them with a time limit.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re very reasonably priced, but when we want to add new things that weren’t in the original scope, the price increased. So new clients should expect to spend a little more than the original quote.

We needed help developing a mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Impero IT developed a mobile app for making deliveries of general courier services. The app is for Android and iOS. We worked together and built everything from scratch. We defined the scope together with them. There are a lot of features like the tracking of the driver, the package, a payment system, etc. 

We also had to build the backend of the system to configure it to go through the app. The admin system and the backbone was integrated with the app. There was one app for the driver and one for the customer.

They can make requests for receiving or sending packages. The driver can receive the request and provide the services. The admin can also track all the requests coming in, the ones that are closed, and check the cost and revenue. It’s very comprehensive.

What is the team composition?

There was a project manager and two assistants. We initially engaged Impero IT’s business development manager. Once we agreed on the scope, the team was formed.

How did you come to work with Impero IT Services Pvt. Ltd?

We saw them online. We told them what we wanted to do and they prepared something to show us and we were impressed. Their cost was competitive as well. We had four different offers.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place from September 2017-August 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Impero IT did a good job. It was a very comprehensive scope. The project objectives were all met. The support services were very good as well. The cost was in line with what agreed to before starting the project. 

The feedback we’ve received has been very good. We are looking forward to doing a refresher of the app with some additional functionalities. We will work with them on that.

How did Impero IT Services Pvt. Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They worked in an agile methodology. They were very professional. We properly defined the scope together, and from there, they did the tasks and presented it. We signed off and they developed the product. There’s a big time difference. 

We established how we would handle communications. We did video calls, electronic messaging, and email. 

Whenever we wanted a change, we issued a change request. They’d review it and they’d let us know if it comes with a cost or extension of the time. There was one person leading the communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very responsive. If we had any queries or challenges, they were very forthcoming in terms of working together with us to solve any problems or challenges. The after support was also very good. After we went live, if there were any challenges, Impero IT was very responsive to help us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In terms of their communication, it would have been good if the whole team handling the project would have been on the video call so we could engage with all of them. It would help the trust stronger. It’d be good if in the kickoff meeting, we could see everyone’s faces.

They’re very professional. You can trust Impero IT to deliver. We didn’t have any issues. I recommend working with them.

Impero IT developed my linguist website where people can learn languages in different language schools around the world. We put together language holiday and language travel experiences. 

If you’re a customer on the website, you can search for a specific language and the site helps you find the right language school. They finished the work I originally asked them to do but I’m still working with them. The website is just being released and not fully live yet.

I’m the founder of Shop-a-lot App, a retail app. Consumers can use it as a tool to do their shopping and select the cheapest option.

What challenge were you trying to address with Impero IT Services?

We needed someone to develop our mobile app. My idea for the app was based on papers that we get with in-store specials from our retailers. I thought it’d be a good idea to take all these specials and put them into electronic form.

We also wanted to create a tool that shoppers could use instead of writing their shopping lists on pieces of paper and sticking them on the fridge.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Impero IT Services developed a mobile app for iOS and Android. The app allows users to do their grocery, hardware, and fashion shopping, among other things. A lot of people in South Africa are becoming more health-conscious, but they don’t know the ingredient list or the health benefits of certain products. 

The team added functionality that shows the ingredient list when users pick a product so that they can determine if it’s healthy or unhealthy. Additionally, if users search for a loaf of bread, the app will also bring up specials for butter, ham, cheese, etc.

I first dealt with the owner of the company, and he introduced me to one of his employees, Mohammed (Project Manager).

How did you come to work with Impero IT Services?

I spoke to developers in South Africa and they didn’t know what I was talking about. I decided to look for an app developer outside South Africa. I looked online and picked Impero IT Services.

We spent less than $10,000.

We worked together from July 2017–March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I launched the app for a couple of weeks and was averaging around 300–400 users at a time. People were happy with the functionality of the app. That was the most important thing. It’s also user-friendly.

How did Impero IT Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We used WhatsApp to communicate. When I had a problem at night, I’d call them, and they’d get up and handle the issue. I moved my app to their server.

There was a delay in the project because I went through a rough patch in terms of finances. Every time they developed something, I paid them. They understood my situation and continued to work anyway.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The good thing with them was that all the related marketing and ideas came from them at no extra cost. The initial idea was mine but all the added benefits were their ideas. That’s what I loved about them. It was such a comfortable experience working with them. 

I paid for the app completely in 2018 and there were some issues I was dealing with. They were so happy to assist me, and they are still assisting me. I’m not very IT inclined, but they really understood me as a business person. They always gave me advice.

I was comfortable enough to introduce them to my network of friends.

I’m CEO and co-founder of an app that allows users to discover how sustainable their food products are. They can search for food products for sustainability scorecards that help people become more conscious consumers.

They developed our mobile app for us.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were responsible for building the backend database as well as the searching and scanning features. Their team was also focused on the UX design of the app, taking care of flow and articles presented on our pages. They worked with some foundational code from university students but created the mobile apps essentially from scratch. The final apps were made for both iOS and Android.

We worked with three people from their team, including Raza (CEO).

They work closely with another provider that we’re acquainted with. Their team really understood us as a social enterprise and as an early-stage startup. On a higher level, they understood what we were trying to achieve.

We spent around €13,000 (approximately $16,000 USD).

We worked together from June–September 2020. Our engagement is ongoing, as they’re still adding new features post-launch.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our customers always comment on the excellent UX. It’s very easy to use and helps busy people make an impact. We have a five-star rating on both the App Store and the Google Play Store. 

The project ran very smoothly because it was clear that they understood what we wanted. They even created some videos for us to further sell our mission to potential investors and partners. That attention to detail was great.

They completed everything on a very quick timeline. We communicated over Skype and email, finding them very personable. It was always a pleasure working with them. Despite their busy schedules, they always made time for us when we ran into issues. Communication was always open.

Their open communication helped make this project a true collaboration between our teams. Rather than an impersonal outsourcing solution, they provided a close partnership that we could rely on.

No, they’ve done a great job considering our timeline and budget.

Even if you don’t have the funding to support a development project currently, call them to explore your options. They’re happy to speak with you about your ideas.

The platform works well and is secure. It flawlessly handles the 200 people we brought in over the last year and is capable of handling more. The team met all the requirements and was adaptable to any changes we made. 

They competently solved the issues encountered by the previous company. They were a great partner for us, and we plan to work with them again.

They were responsible for setting up iOS, Android, and web versions of the app. Additionally, they created a landing page solely for users to discover our app and learn where it can be downloaded. On the backend, they built a panel that allows us to edit information. There’s also a payment integration through Stripe, which facilitates our subscription-based product.

The app is aesthetically beautiful and flows intuitively. It’s still a bit early to measure success, but the app functions and looks exactly how we wanted. We’re very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone that wants to build an app. The quality of the product is impressive.

Conducted research of a number of solution providers across the market and ultimately selected Impero IT Services Pvt. based on their experience, pricing structure and their standard of support service both through the build and pot release.

Describe the project in detail.

To design and build an online portal and client App that we could roll out to our financial adviser clients to help them to go digital with their client communications. The project required a number of user layers of Admin, Adviser and end client, all of which needed to be designed to provide an excellent customer experience to ensure high take up levels.

We were allocated a comprehensive team of supports including relationship manager, developers and Project manager in addition to regular ceo catch ups to ensure the project was going exactly to our specifications and time-frame.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As this service is new to the market we were unsure as to what the demand would be. Whilst just launched a short period now the initial feedback has been excellent. Within the first 6 weeks of launch we have been generating revenue from advisers that have subscribed to the application and we have already revised upwards our Q2 targets for 2021.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective thorough clear communication, setting clear expectations and timely changes. The team are excellent as taking onboard feedback and implementing requested changes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive aspect was their willingness and flexibility to adapt to our changing vision of what we needed. As this is our first venture into this area our vision was not clear at the start, which resulted in us needing to change aspects of the build as we developed.

The team were very accommodating to ensure that it was prefect for us no matter how long that was to take.

Describe the project in detail.

The Feistim app allows users to record, track, and analyze inputs (efforts) and outputs (performance metrics). It will also allow users to analyze and correlate inputs versus outputs to see the effect specific efforts have on performance outcomes.

The performance data from Feistim can also be exported to .xls and .pdf for further analysis. Feistim will also include a chat feature to allow individuals and groups to interact with training plans, videos, or goal sharing with the view to replacing WhatsApp for this purpose.

Since October 9th, 2020, Feistim already has 1,250 users in 16 countries. The Feistim Project began in December 2019 and already has won a number of prestigious awards:
