We hired them to create a design for a client of ours and we were very happy with the output.

We searched for design companies online and we found their portfolio, after that, we contacted them and found common ground.

Their team conducted research based on our requirements. After we send out the details after a week we got a low-fidelity prototype. We then continued improving the prototype and some of the design parts, and finally moved to finalize the design.

My team worked directly with their UI/UX designer and PM.

We are very happy with the outcome of this project and we will consider them in the future.

They were very easy to communicate with, everything was decided on Figma and they were very responsive.

They provided some useful information that we didn't expect, like animations and small interactions that we found very helpful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, at least for us we found everything to be okay.

Prior to starting on working on the design, our team and Illiyin Studio's team had multiple discussions in which we explained the purpose of the website and walked through the various pages to answer their questions and help them understand the concept of the site.

After that, they've shared a document with us so we can write our design requirements and how we would like to improve it. After understanding the concept, and our requirements, they started working on the design as per the agreed plan.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're pleased with the deliverables from their team. Their work perfectly reflects the vision we had at the start, helping us create a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate responsive design that support both L2R and R2L designs for Arabic language. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was really great between the teams despite the 4 hours time difference considering that we are in two different countries. It was easy to discuss any points, clear any misunderstandings. Most of the communication was held in Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The things I found most impressive was:

1. Communication
2. They try to understand the concept and business logic before working on the page design
3. Their ability to deliver on time without delays

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As per my experience, I can't find something that they could’ve done differently. I'm happy with their way of doing things.

Pretty effective using trello for tasks and loom videos for communication within those tasks.

Great pricing with a variety of talent.

Probably should have a feedback loop on a per project basis to maintain and improve.

Illiyin Studio were hired to take control of the design phase of the platform. The team were given a number of documents detailing what the business wants to achieve, and how the platform should function (inc. UX / UI, branding, design ideas, all journies and more).

From there, Illiyin Studio went on to create all desktop & mobile designs for the platform. They did this based on the documents provided, and it exceeded all expectations.Since they have done such an amazing job, they have taken on elements of the development phase also. So far, their front end development skills have proven to be amazing.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met Illiyin Studio through Upwork. I decided to work with them based on initial communication & discussions, portfolio of historic work, mix of skills within the team, and ambition to take on the project.

Following their review of my documentation, the process started with a very detailed plan put together by the team. The team created a flow of the required pages and processes involved (allowing us to sense check that all was okay). This was very comforting - it showed they really understood the project. They were also able to identify missing steps in processes - which allowed us to remediate things early on.

Anything that needed fixing throughout the process were done so without any issues.We worked in an almost Agile method - with the team designing based on documentation, and adjustments being made based on feedback. We worked together through the design process, to completion. Given the great work that has been achieved, they have started working on the development phase of the project - which is going very well so far.

In total, I have worked with 5+ people from Illiyin Studio. These spanned across design & project management (and now development).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was successfully delivered, above expectation. Given the success, work with Illiyin Studio will continue going forward.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was fantastic - we were quickly able to establish requirements, an effective plan and confirm that we could work together. Updates were provided regularly, and we used tools to manage the backlog effectively. The entire team remained communicative throughout the entire process. They were friendly with many good ideas, which made the entire process more enjoyable. We primarily used Slack to manage communication and the backlog.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team at Illiyin Studio are extremely talented, creative, hard-working and friendly. They also have a strong mix of skills. They offer a lot of input into the direction of the product, taking personal pride in what they delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I cannot note any improvements that can be made. The team have been excellent from start to end. I will continue to work with them in the future.
