I’m the head of operations at RapidCompact, a small software company based in Germany.

What challenge were you trying to address with Human Creative?

We wanted to refresh the design of our website, so we hired them to create a new homepage for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided some documents and answered some questionnaires to help Human Creative gain a better understanding of our company. We also walked them through the services that we offer. After that, they proceeded with the work and came up with their own ideas and suggestions along the way.

What is the team composition?

We worked with at least three people from their team: Tom (CEO & Founder), a developer, and a designer.

How did you come to work with Human Creative?

I’m not entirely sure how we found them, but I think they were the ones who got in touch with us first. At the time, we were still a small company with limited money, and their team offered us a good deal at a friendly price.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from April–August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very satisfied with their work; our website looked fresh, and we received good feedback from other people who really liked our newly-updated site.

How did Human Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed the project very well. There were some delays on our side, but their team worked flexibly to deliver the project on time. In a nutshell, we could always rely on them at any point in the project. We also liked that we only had one point of contact who took care of everything for us. 

For communication, we mainly interacted through email, Slack, and video conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams. At times, we also just talked directly with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I don’t have that much experience in working with other design companies, but Tom and his team’s approach was very personal and direct; it felt like we really had a good connection, and we could communicate with them quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

No, I can’t think of any.

Be upfront — tell them exactly what you want, and they’ll deliver it to you.

For what projects/services did your company hire Human Creative, and what were your goals?

We needed a short "elevator pitch" video that would give an explanation of our platform and how it works, as the concept itself was novel.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Tom from Human Creative reached out and offered his services. The price and the timeline was in alignment with our needs.

We began with a series of discovery calls and emails. Human Creative then produced a script, along with a template with time codes for individual animation segments. After some revision, a first-draft animation was delivered. Some more modification was done on the script, and then it was sent to VO. The next version was delivered. Some minor adjustments were made (background music) in the final delivered version.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with the Tom, the head of Human Creative. The feedback process was excellent: Tom responded to all messages and requests extremely quickly, politely and professionally. The majority of the script and all the animation was produced by Human Creative.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video has been used repeatedly at trade shows, sent as a preview for meetings, and is on our website. The response to it has been overwhelming positive. In some cases, a meeting was unnecessary as the video was able to communicate what our platform does entirely on its own.

The work was produced very quickly and feedback was nearly immediate. We communicated primarily through email after the initial calls, though it was never difficult to get a call scheduled when necessary.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We began the project with Human Creative with no expectations, and were blown away with the result. The first draft was of very high quality, and needed very little revision. For what was ultimately delivered the price was extremely low. When we later needed the video translated to Japanese for another trade show, Human Creative was able to meet our very short deadline.

The VO chosen was clearly of top quality; though I personally couldn't understand it, I was assured by prospective clients and partners that the translate was flawless and voiced by a native speaker. After the success of the original production, I had no worries trusting Human Creative with undertaking the translation.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For us, there were none. The process was flawless. I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement.

What challenge were you trying to address with Human Creative?

We hired Human Creative to create a marketing video for my former company to help attract customers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Human Creative produced a two-minute animated video for the company that explains the company, their product, and the product's importance for a customer's business. I provided Human Creative with information about the product and what we wanted to emphasize. I also provided the company's logo, product photos, and branding guidelines. From there, Human Creative developed the storyboard and script, which I then provided feedback on. Once we finalized the storyboard, Human Creative produced the video — they showed us several video frames before beginning production to ensure they were heading in the right creative direction.

I had a single point of contact from Human Creative, but I believe more teammates were working in the background. 

How did you come to work with Human Creative?

Human Creative contacted me, either via email or LinkedIn, and offered their video production services. They suggested making topical marketing videos and after a few discussions over the phone and Skype, we hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

My former company invested around €5,000 (approximately $5,400 USD) with Human Creative. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project with Human Creative was from January–February 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The video quality was quite astonishing — Human Creative conveyed all of the product information we requested in a very professional way. 

How did Human Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Human Creative met our deadlines. The project was very short, so we didn't need to use any project management tools. We typically communicated through emails, phone calls, and Skype. Although we were in different countries, Human Creative ensured that communication and collaboration went smoothly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the deliverables Human Creative provides exceeded my expectations. The cost-to-quality ratio was great — I was very satisfied with the partnership. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing for Human Creative to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd advise customers to try a smaller project with Human Creative to see what their team is capable of. I'm sure Human Creative will meet or exceed expectations.

Human Creative created a 3 minute animated video that told the story of the problem our company sought to solve, our strategy for doing so and of the people who founded our company.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were contacted by Human Creative at the same time we were looking to briefly and creatively tell potential investors and other stakeholders who we were and more importantly what we sought to accomplish. Tom was very responsive, cost effective and quickly understood who we were.

We initially met with Tom and outlined our companies strategy and objectives and explained some of the hurdles we had run into telling our story. After providing Tom with some further background material, he prepared a video story of our story. I think we initially aimed for a 2.5 minute story, realized we had more to tell and ultimately settled on 3 minutes. We added sound a bit later, made a few changes and were extremely happy with the finished product.

We worked with Tom Galecki who was a pleasure to work with. We provided timely feedback and Tom made what ever changes or adaptations we thought was needed. He did a great job of telling the story.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Human Creative utilized Figma to ensure that there was a bidirectional flow of feedback. They produced two distinct (and excellent) branding concepts and then refined the chosen concept. In the end, the company received a full branding pack with logo, visual language guidelines, font, etc. Human Creative has also be contracted to create the firm's website.

Items were delivered on time with punctual virtual meetings to go over deliverables. They were responsive and very professional. They communicated production timelines and stuck to them. The templates they used to collect information and their use of Figma as an interactive design board made the process very easy.

The energy sector is very technical and my company is not a standard tech start up. Human Creative clearly did their homework to make sure that they understood the attitude of the sector when creating the branding for my consultancy. The team settled on a concept and design which will inspire trust yet remains modern. They were great to work with and I look forward to continuing to go to them for future website and visualization needs.
