We needed to scale up asap for the project in the Mining and Exploration industry. It was supposed to be a specialized service for adding, managing, systematizing data for geologists during the mining process. The guys were really good at .Net and React and made a very valuable contribution to the project.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was familiar with the founders of Honeycomb Software and we collaborated together on other projects. As soon as there was a need to strengthen our own development team by adding more skilled developers, we immediately reached out to Honeycomb Software. I was sure it was a task that they would handle perfectly.

Honeycomb Software has a clear idea of the solution we intended to create. Their inventive approach to task completion assessment helps to reach great results. We believe the organization is the greatest vendor because we are completely happy with the skillset and the entire development process.

We held an onboarding meeting after we signed all of the agreements to get to know the team members and go through the details of how the system should function. Developers began working on the assigned tasks. Engineers at Honeycomb were working on backend and frontend functionality, and also databases. They were able to work with both React.js and the .Net stack at the same time, which was a definite advantage.

We were able to achieve our goals by working in a team. TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), React, Redux, Git, C# ASP.NET, SQL, and Oracle Database were the key technologies we used. The system is a dedicated service for geologists to add, manage, and systematize data during the mining process. As a consequence, we have two versions of the product, each with its own set of features, such as offline mode, synchronization Local DB with Server DB, GPS map with mining data, etc.

3 Software Engineers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The major requirement was making possible the synchronization of the data between different sources of data capture (client, server, and external platform). We had to build from scratch certain functionality for logging and representing data as well. As the result, we improved those parts and managed to complete our goal.

We decided on Scrum with elements of Kanban methodology using Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Google Meet for communication which was convenient for the whole team. High-level communication is an essential part of a successful project. Having this and the whole team’s attitude to their work helped to reach the great result.

The level of communication is really good and whenever we needed to discuss something it wasn’t a problem to jump on a call and to come up with the solution. Moreover, we had a chance to consult with the Tech lead when there was a need. We appreciate the support during the whole development process.
