Could you give a brief description of your company?

The name of our company is TuffWerx. We’re based in Texas, and we are an Internet marketplace. We focus on simplifying the process of selling used heavy equipment, [such as] bulldozers, excavators, and backhoes.

What is your role and your responsibilities with the company?

I’m the CEO.

What was the business challenge you were trying to address when you contacted HMG Creative?

The design of our website has a significant impact on our business. So, we needed to create a new website design and provide a strong, positive experience for the customers that visited our website.

In terms of the results from the project completion, can you give us specific improvements that happened on your website, such as how it’s better overall because of the project?

This is one of the reasons we are very happy with them. I literally had customers tell us they have chosen our service because they think our site, specifically our website is head and shoulders above the competition. We clearly look like a cutting-edge company. We get business because we work with HMG.

When working with HMG Creative, is there something unique about them that kind of differentiates them from the competition or other companies with which you’ve worked?

What I found working with HMG Creative is we’ll have a sit down, we’ll get a wireframe out of what we’re hoping for, and then the execution on their end is very much what we discussed.

We’re in Austin, Texas. We only have 11 employees.

What is your role and responsibilities with the company?

I’m senior executive administrative assistant and office manager. I do a little bit of everything here: The website, social media, Facebook posts, accounts payable, and make sure the whole office runs smoothly.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you came to HMG Creative?

We wanted to revamp our whole website into WordPress. Prior to that, we were in a very customized website that this local company created. We wanted to get to a different platform that was more user friendly.

What were the overall business goals for the project? What did you want your company to benefit from the most out of this project?

Just exposure. We wanted to have a more attractive website.

SOLUTION

Can you talk a little bit more about the project what kind of support was involved? Was it design, development, or training?

Everything actually. It was all of those. They gave us a few options. We told them what we wanted it to look like. We based it on a couple other websites that we found that we liked. They also trained us on WordPress.

What was the process for selecting HMG Creative with which to work? What led you to them?

We have a policy at work. If we spend above a certain amount of money, you have to get at least three bids. So, we interviewed three companies. They weren’t the cheapest, and they weren’t the most expensive, but we liked their work and product example the best. We also really liked the conversations we had with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

In terms of results and feedback, what were the results of the project? What did you get out of it in the end?

A brand new website. Everything was improved.

You still feel you selected the right platform and software to work with WordPress.

Yes. We’re happy with it.

How did HMG Creative perform?

I would say excellent performance. I vaguely remember having a couple of issues. I don’t know if it was timeliness in getting back to us or what it was, but the overall result was really good. We’ve continually worked with them. They’ve upgraded a couple of our logos. They’ve made our logos pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month. So, we could use that in our social media presence. They continually do work for us.

Looking back at it, was there anything that made them unique compared to other companies you worked with in the past? Is there something that stands out about HMG Creative?

I feel like it’s a good personal and business relationship. They’re very friendly. I like them as people, and they’re very professional at the same time.
