Local reference in the community.

A series of interviews allowed the Hexcode team to determine the brand and plans to roll out a strategic road map. I was very pleased with their analysis and suggested plans/timelines and choices of various marketing tools.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I assume a group of 4 or 5, from digital marketing creation, video, messaging, social media monitoring, next step suggestions. All good.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In a few words, the measurable is "we won" the election. The deliverables were timely and calculated during the election timeframes. The flexibility as to the timing of the release of marketing materials has been instrumental and successful.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow communication was very open between their group and ours. Real time communications were always addressed and available.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They're creativity was fantastic;, the ability to match the candidate (me) with the local electorate and adjusting to the digital market. All the while, not loosing site of the candidate's (me) brand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Making sure the digital pieces on facebook etc.... would have a wide reach, (ie likes, views, shares, etc...); but probably more marketing dollars could have been spent. Bottom line, is "We Won", and they did a fantastic job. I would refer them to any person or industry needing these types of services.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and head photographer of Darrin Hackney Photography. I focus on weddings, headshots, couples, high school seniors, and corporate work.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hexcode Marketing LLC?

I needed a better website because my existing one had some issues. For example, I kept receiving messages from Google saying its font was too small. I had originally gotten that website from another service provider because that was what other photographers were using, and it was supposed to be designed for photographers.

However, I was trying to stay relevant and be found, for which SEO was very important. Still, I found out that the previous service provider wasn’t as good as they said it was, and I wanted to keep going, so I hired Hexcode Marketing to help me develop a new site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hexcode Marketing developed my new website from scratch in WordPress. One of my key requirements was to have my photography work well-represented. I asked for a simple website without a lot of bells and whistles because my photos needed to be the loudest part of my site.

Initially, we sat down and came up with the top three photography categories I service to keep everything in line with those. From there, Hexcode Marketing created the layout for the website. They then developed the site and helped me set up a new hosting environment for it.

Additionally, Hexcode Marketing helped me with SEO and copywriting to make my site more searchable. For this part of the project, their scope included keyword research.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Donte (Website Project Manager) and a copywriter who asked me questions to write my site’s copy. Initially, I also met with Chrissy (Owner & CEO), who gathered my requirements and ideas.

How did you come to work with Hexcode Marketing LLC?

Hexcode Marketing hired me for photography projects for their clients. While working for their clients, we started developing a relationship and getting to know each other well. When I realized that I also needed a better website, we started talking about it, and I transitioned from being their service provider into being their client.

How much have you invested with them?

We made a trade, so there wasn’t money involved. Still, the value of the website was around $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around August 2021, and they delivered the website in August 2022. However, the project took longer than expected due to delays on my end.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since launching the new website, my traffic has increased. The copywriter made the content sound awesome and used the right keywords, which definitely improved my SEO. Moreover, Hexcode Marketing did a great job creating an attractive and robust site, which hopefully will help me acquire important clients.

How did Hexcode Marketing LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Hexcode Marketing performed well. They kept me on track, which was very good. It took me a long time to figure out which photos would be the best to highlight on the site; still, Hexcode Marketing was very patient with me. We met in person throughout the project, which I really loved because I’m a people person. Still, I was respectful of their time because I knew they were busy, so our meetings were very efficient.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hexcode Marketing was very personable and knowledgeable in what they do. They had good ideas and intentions for us. Moreover, Chrissy led the team very well, and they were very fun to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Find people who are good at what they do, and let them do it.

Please describe your company and your position there.

We are a Liquor Catering company, (mobile bartending). We service events where there is not a liquor license present already. I.E. Weddings, corporate events etc. I am the Owner and Operator.

Hexcode performs my marketing needs on a regular basis. They designed and house my website. They maintain my social media presence. Finally the design all my marketing materials such as brochures, clothing (hats, shirts etc), koozies and business cards.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met the Hexcode owner at a networking event. I researched their current customers and viewed there marketing presence. Their costs were reasonable. They weren't the lowest in town but they weren't the most expensive either.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Chrissy and her team met with us on several occasions to get an idea for my style and how I was already presenting my business. They would then coordinate with us on progress and have meetings to view the website while in design until the final rollout. On social media they send out a calendar of what their plans are for the month and then ask for a calendar of events to highlight. It's a close working relationship.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

4 to 5 staff members worked with us to include the owner, tech implementation, design team and office management.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Interaction from our website increased phenomenally! We used to get a few website submissions a month but know it's daily. This has increased our business contracts without the need for constant personal selling on our part. Our social media presence increased to the point where our customers are saying, "we see you on Facebook and you are everywhere!"

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was smooth. Most interaction took place via email once the ball was rolling. We did make changes on our end that necessitated a personal meeting but that was handled quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have a lot of energy from the top down. Even the staff below the top level were just excited to work with us!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No they handle everything pretty well.
