I’m the founder and CEO of Openskies Technologies. We develop large, enterprise-scale software projects like websites and mobile apps.

We needed help with custom software development, so we hired Golpik.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The way we work is finding and closing deals with customers in the US and outsourcing the actual software development work to Golpik, so we’ve collaborated on multiple projects. Our projects are varied, from custom software to mobile apps, so we’ve used almost every programming language.

In addition to development, Golpik also handles the design work, which encompasses logos, screens, wireframes, and more. Additionally, they provide us with a cybersecurity team that offers network and server support services, and they maintain and update the different products they create as needed.

One of our largest projects has been a very complex scheduling/billing system for physicians in long-term care facilities. Golpik helped us develop this software, integrating multiple APIs to connect it to other software pieces. We used SQL for the database and Node.js for the frontend.

The system serves not only as a simple scheduling tool, but it also has AI built into it that, based on the type of appointment scheduled, creates other appointments as required by Medicare protocols. For example, if a physician sees a long-term care patient for the first time, they’re required by Medicare to visit the patient every seven days up to the fourth visit and every 30 days after that. When scheduling the first appointment with a patient, the system creates future appointments so that they aren’t missed.

Throughout our engagement, we’ve interacted with around 20 people from Golpik across their different departments. Every time we start a project, they assign a project manager who coordinates everything within their team.

We’ve spent around $50,000–$100,000.

We started working together in late-2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Collaborating with Golpik, we’ve met every project goal, and they’ve delivered very sophisticated development work. They’re really good developers; I would rate them 5/5 stars.

How did Golpik perform from a project management standpoint?

Golpik’s project management is great; they’ve exceeded our expectations. We work based on agile development strategies, so we divide the project into sprints, and they always meet the sprint goals. We use Skype to have weekly meetings and chat as needed. We’ve also communicated via email, and we’ve leveraged Monday.com as a project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Golpik’s software development work is very high-end, and their communication skills are really good as well. Overall, their team excels because they offer the whole package, from excellent project management and communication to quality products and great results — Golpik is very good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything they could improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be prepared for the project. Golpik does what you ask them to do, and they don’t come up with anything outside of that. Thus, being very detailed and clear about what you want is very helpful. If you give them a very solid roadmap for your project, they can definitely deliver on it.

We hired Golpik to develop a mobile application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

To begin, I met with Golpik and provided them with my vision and an outline of what I was looking for. I also gave them a pre-beta version of the app that had already been developed by some students along with a baseline of information. They then came back to me with a proposed schedule of milestones and a list of certain aspects of the application that they would address. Their team worked out the kinks in the coding and delivered a functional iOS app.

What is the team composition?

They didn’t identify how many people were working on the project, but I did have key points of contact within the team. 

How did you come to work with Golpik?

I found Golpik on Upwork. I decided to go with them because, after our discussion, I felt like they could accomplish what I was looking for. Apart from seeming dedicated to bringing my vision to life, they also had experience working with educational platforms. 

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested around $5,800.

What is the status of this engagement?

I first met with them in December 2020 and the production started in January 2021. We’ve completed the iOS version last October 2021 and we are now looking to start developing for Android as well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The key thing for me was having the ability to look at the app as it was being developed, which Golpik was able to help me with. They gave me access to the testing platform, so I was able to check their progress and provide real-time feedback.

How did Golpik perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a very collaborative partnership. They made sure that everything they needed was provided or that they got back to me in time. They were very responsive when things happened or if we needed to edit, change, or update any aspect of the application. 

We held check-in meetings, but the team was very accessible to me outside of those. I could reach them anytime through phone or email. If we needed to discuss something in-depth, we would do Zoom calls and share screens. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What really stood out about Golpik was their enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to meet our needs. They were very passionate about helping us and providing good customer service, which made for a really collaborative relationship. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would have liked to see them provide more guidance on the creative side. They provided solid expertise when it came to coding and development, but they relied on me a lot for the creative thinking aspect. I think it would’ve been helpful if they had a hand in helping bring the vision to life. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to have everything you need upfront. Your guide, outlines, and available content should all be packaged prior to approaching Golpik. You will get more out of being prepared and ready than you would if you were trying to do everything from the ground up.

Golpik would design & develop a data visualization tool for Wildlife Works to enable its team to visualize data of each project/country to understand the difference and similarities and what areas and sub functions have a large impact on each project/ country. To be able to do so, Golpik intends to develop the required data visualization tool through following deliverables:

The design and development of the dashboard that would allow you to visualize main categories/key departments • Sustainable Development

this 35 days project ended up 18 months .. still to this date not complete, although most of workstage have been delivered satisfactorily

issues with time zone, although Pakistan and Australia have similar timezone GOLPIK is aligned with USA timezone that made it difficult for me, and forced to work overtime each and every time we'd plan a skype meeting (after 6pm WAST) often long period of silence, due to project being handed over to delegate not entirely aware of the situation

total misjudgment of the workload (35 days / 18 months delay), strong misunderstanding of the deliverables (multiple issues with color scheme, replicate data management, unreadable visualization tools, etc.

We have been working with Golpik for over two years and are extremely satisfied with the quality of work. Their cost effective approach in resourcing team members and the expertise they bring to solving very complex development challenges. Overall, we are very glad to team up with Golpik!

When we first launched, there were some minor UI UX issues that were quickly fixed

We chose Syed & his team for a complex, custom project to create an online marketplace. They were very clear in the scope of the project and provided detailed updates along the way. Syed was patient with questions as we went & in the end, delivered the site exactly per our contract. They've also been active in supporting the site now that it's live on an ongoing basis. They did an excellent job.

We were very happy with the results because it was exactly what we wanted.

They were excellent, especially for a web development team. Most of them don’t get back to you.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was quite easy, and we got the job done in a timely fashion. It was also priced well for what they had to do. I know how to code, and I went in and made updates maybe a little too soon. With coding, you need to be careful with how things are changed because they can impact all of the pages. I noticed early on what was happening, and we were able to resolve things quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’ve improved a lot. They streamlined their billing and made sure everything got done. They don’t need further improvements in my book.

Creating a website is a huge undertaking. It helps when you describe what you want on paper. Make sure it’s exactly what you want because it saves time and confusion. If you put it down on paper, you’ll get exactly what you ask for.
