I am the Principal of a marketing consultancy that provides small and mid market challenger brands with growth strategies to help increase revenue, profits and marketshare via digital & social campaigns using earned, owned and paid media.

We hired Giant Propeller to help ideate, design and produce campaign creative for a Go To Market campaign that our client tasked us with launching and optimizing.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Giant Propeller offers a lot more category experience, level of skill and overall value compared to many of the other agencies and production shops we considered awarding the business to.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project with Giant Propeller began when our Creative Brief was approved by our client. The brief outlined our campaign's target personnas, launch date, campaign objectives, creative budget, digital channels, creative specifications, and location of the existing library of assets.

After reviewing the creative brief, GP scheduled a call to review our brief and ask questions that their team and project managers had, and then a few days later provided us with a workback schedule that we aligned with our internal team and the client on. Then Giant Propeller scheduled some check-ins with our team where we would review progress and course correct before sharing updates with the client.

These check-ins occurred weekly, before the first batch of assets was sent to client for review and approval. Once approved, our team implemented the assets that GP produced directly into the digital platforms in our media plan, and results were shared on a weekly basis with both the client and GP to help inform the next round of creative assets that they would produce based on the qualitative and quantitative performance of the first batch. We used the weekly cadence for the entire campaign.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The campaign was successful in generating an increase in sales, new customer acquisitions and a lift in Lifetime Value for the client.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very. Giant Propeller's approach to project management is very similar to ours and a large part of why we selected them. They are excellent at internal/external communications and adhered to all timelines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Giant Propeller is a bespoke boutique agency that brands can really partner with to unlock growth. They bring the skills and experience of larger agency but with a higher level of attention from senior staff that you don't get at the larger agencies who just pawn you off to junior team members once the client is onboarded.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that I can think of.

I’m the co-founder, COO, and CTO for Sandboxx, a technology company that serves the military community. We have a suite of products and services that we offer military service members and their family members throughout their journey, from the day they decide to join until the day they retire.

Giant Propeller developed and provided us with different creative assets to assemble our PR kit for fundraising. For this project, they took six years' worth of information from our business, organized it, architected it, and created design assets that conformed to what venture capitalists and PR firms were looking for. Among those assets was the pitch deck needed for our fundraising rounds.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before working with Giant Propeller, we had started our fundraising efforts with our own self-made PR kit, and we didn’t get very far in three months. We then got Giant Propeller’s deliverables in July 2021. By September 2021, we had verbal commitments, and by November 2021, we had closed the fundraising round.

How did Giant Propeller perform from a project management standpoint?

Giant Propeller was very professional throughout the project, and Audrianna was instrumental in the project's success. We used various communication tools and had multiple revision rounds and status updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Giant Propeller’s responsiveness and attention to detail were impressive. Additionally, they understood our needs very quickly, a skill that usually comes with a lot of experience; that’s what they brought to the table.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We were very happy with their work.

I’m the co-owner of Lulus Body Jewelry. We’re both an online and physical retail store that specializes in ear jewelry and ear stylings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Giant Propeller?

We wanted to completely redo our brand identity, including our website, social media, and name.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They first helped us with branding and auditing our current business to see where our brand was lacking. Giant Propeller is handling everything in terms of our name, the logo, and any physical materials, in addition to establishing our messaging. More specifically, they're detailing how our brand is going to speak to its audience, what its values are, and what it stands for. 

At the start of the project, Giant Propeller interviewed all our stakeholders both through video chat and in-person. They also submitted many questionnaires for us to fill out, in addition to doing their own research into our brand and industry. Currently, we're in the wireframe stage for our website. The main goal I wanted them to achieve with the website was to grow conversion and attract new customers. I also wanted to retain my customers and keep them feeling loyal to the brand. One of our other core requirements was merging our retail and online operations so that customers can use their points seamlessly and share accounts. This way, everything will flow through one platform.

I don’t know what technologies they're using, but we're currently operating everything through Shopify. We have a few different plugins that we're currently using, and Square is our retail app.

What is the team composition?

They have a team of 25 people, and I’ve spoken to all of them. I communicate mainly with the project manager and one other person, however.

How did you come to work with Giant Propeller?

I tried to do a rebrand twice with two different agencies, and Giant Propeller asked for a fee that was half as much as the other agencies' fees. I wasn’t fully satisfied with the direction the project was going, including the performance or the communication. This third time around, I did even more research, calling a bunch of agencies and setting up meetings. I surveyed about 100 different companies and felt that Giant Propeller had a more holistic approach when it comes to rebranding and marketing execution.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent over $30,000–$35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working together since May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still in the very early stages, but it’s clear where our brand is going, how the website is going to be built, and the features it’s going to have. As far as the brand aesthetics, logo, color scheme, and overall photography vibe, our team is very satisfied with the direction it’s going. We're also very happy with when they're scheduled to complete the project and move into the marketing phase.

How did Giant Propeller perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re extremely good at communication. Whenever I ask a question, I get an immediate answer. If I want to talk to someone through Zoom or on the phone, it happens immediately. I can also text and email them. They’re also very flexible to accommodate our hours. Giant Propeller makes presentations very easy to understand and allows me to give my opinion right away rather than waiting until the very end.

They also have a big team, which means I get to talk to different people with diverse specialties. I don’t get a general answer; I get very specific answers from them. They meet the deadlines. We’re the ones that take a little longer process which delays a little of the timing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The size of their team and ability to work together no matter where they’re at is impressive. I’ve had experience working with a lot of agencies, and Giant Propeller is one of the only agencies that can handle branding. I'm able to complete the brand and market it, all with the same partner. They're making my business a reality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they were closer to me, then I could visit them in their office, and that would be cool. That’s just out of convenience, though; they’re doing an excellent job. I don’t think they could do any better at this point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you know what you want, you need to be prepared with what your goals are. Be very clear and visual with how you want the brand to look. Give examples of other brands that you feel you want to become like. The more you give, the more clear things can be.

I am the founder/ managing member of. Aerangis, a niche fragrance company that started in 2020.

For what projects/services did your company hire Giant Propeller?

We need somebody to help us with our social media ads, which was the most urgent need at the moment. We are hoping to start small and eventually extend into other marketing strategies, such as email news letter and improvement of the website etc. Our goal was to find a team that can help us with all the marketing needs.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

From the vendor's previous successes, especially with certain brands that we're familiar with, which is always more convincing. We were specifically looking for vendors that understand the luxury market, can speak that language and understand the aesthetics. When I first connected with the vendor, I feel like the team has enough expertise and knowledge and can potentially be a good fit.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After the kick-off meeting, we are assigned with our direct contact and we exchanged some emails till we finalize our needs for the social ads. The team pitched back the creatives after a while, we did a few rounds of back and forth until we're happy with the ad sets, and we went live. However, the ads were not performing as expected, and we thought there would be more communication after the launch, but that wasn't the case. We weren't receiving weekly reports and/or strategies to make improvement. After the holiday season, we stopped all the holiday-driven ads, and created a whole new set that are more evergreen. However, the experience after that was the same.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I don't know the exact numbers but there was at least a content director, media buyer, our direct contact. In the begging stage, there were other marketing directors to help us create our first deep dive and they are great.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I had some great learnings from the deep dive report (I don't remember what you call it, but that's the report that the team analyzes the brand and our target market). The social media ads effort was a complete fail. We barely made any conversion from the ads, which we understand that many factors played into it, but we feel that. We didn't get to deep dive enough to at least get some learning out of it, and exercise simply became too cost prohibited.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

it wasn't great, which is a big part of my fault too. I am short staffed, and I can barely keep up. However, there was never a "flow" that was established to have regular meetings, which I think was a bit odd, too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I believe with the right budget, we would be able to create some great video contents base on what I know about the company, but we never get to that point.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at the moment.

I’m the founder and CEO of a physical therapy products company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Giant Propeller?

As a recently launched company, we had some initial sales traction, but we were looking to take our marketing and advertising to the next level. Thus, we were looking for a partner that could provide us with more professional services for our creative content and ad management.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Giant Propeller helps us with our marketing and advertising. After kicking off the project, they audited our existing brand and assets and provided us with a growth plan with short-, mid-, and long-term objectives. They also included the specific activities that they expected to do to help us achieve that growth.

After the initial assessment, Giant Propeller spent some time setting up our accounts on Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and Klaviyo for email marketing to get us ready to scale. Shortly after that, we launched our marketing and advertising efforts.

Since then, Giant Propeller has been delivering very creative work for our Google and Instagram paid ads, as well as for upgrading our product pages on our website. They have a good cadence of delivering PPC content on a monthly basis to create monthly campaigns. Although we’ve been mainly focused on PPC, we’re also starting to look into launching SEO efforts.

We work with Audrianna (Head of Brand), the head of performance, Waseem (Performance Marketing Manager), Jordan and Mike (Co-Founders), Meryl (Strategist), Kathryn (Social & Partnerships Manager), Ashlyn (Associate Creative Director & SEO Specialist), Elizabeth (Lifecycle & Email Marketing Manager), and Valerie (Account Manager). Valerie is our main point of contact, but we’ve collaborated with different specialists from their team on the different parts of the project.

How did you come to work with Giant Propeller?

We found Giant Propeller on breef. We also interviewed two other agencies, but Giant Propeller impressed us with their ability to work as a team. For our initial meeting, they brought the directors of their various departments to the interview so that we knew everyone whom we would be working with.

They also explained their very simple and flexible model where we can have access to different professionals for a fixed flat rate. Their model made a lot of sense to us, and I really liked their team, so we chose them for this project.

We’ve spent close to $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around December 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

When we started working with Giant Propeller, our ROAD was about 0.6; currently, it is close to two. So far, they’ve more than doubled our ROAD, and I expect it to continue to improve.

How did Giant Propeller perform from a project management standpoint?

Giant Propeller’s project management is strong. I constantly know what they’re working on, why they’re working on it, and when it is going to be delivered. We’re very hands-on in prioritizing tasks, and Giant Propeller is great at informing us throughout the process and keeping us updated.

In addition to that, they take feedback very well. Other people with whom I’ve worked in the past get really defensive about getting feedback. However, Giant Propeller is very thankful for positive feedback, and they’re very responsive to critical feedback, changing their approach to get us where we need to be.

We use Google Sheets to manage the project, which has worked out well for us. Additionally, we typically communicate via email, and we have a weekly meeting with the project manager over Google Meet. During these meetings, we go over timelines and priorities.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Giant Propeller’s breadth of expertise distinguishes them from other providers. They have a very broad offering, and they seem like they can do a lot of things very well. As a startup, our needs change a lot, and we don’t know which skillset we will need for our next move. Working with Giant Propeller, we feel that whatever our next move is, they’ll have the right talent on their team to help us with it. This allows us not to hire full-time people and still have access to high-quality talent.

Another of the things I’ve liked the most about working with Giant Propeller is that we initially just told them our goals, and they came back to us with a great list of recommended activities — that was what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Getting started took us a little longer than expected. I feel that we could have launched new ads sooner to start driving the incredible results we’ve gotten faster. I’m happy with the results, but I would have liked to get them earlier.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Engage Giant Propeller’s team and let them pitch you a creative plan. Then, work with them to prioritize what fits your budget. They have a lot of strong ideas, but you need to ensure that you pick the most important ones for your project within your budget.

I’m the owner and executive producer of a production company called 303 films.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Giant Propeller?

I was doing a music video for a rapper and needed to partner with a production company that could do the visual effects (VFX).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The music video is 11 and a half minutes long and required complex VFX for certain scenes. Giant Propeller created those special effects to emulate specific characters, dinosaurs, and even a room’s walls coming apart. Their team took charge of the time-consuming green-screen and animation work.

Once the video was finalized, Giant Propeller also did some social media marketing for us. They conducted a launch party as part of our campaign. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with pretty much everybody on their team; there was Jordan (Co-Founder & Chief Growth Officer), Mike (Co-Founder & CEO), Oscar (Producer), and a number of VFX specialists.

How did you come to work with Giant Propeller?

We chose to work with them because they were local to Los Angeles — that was the most significant factor. We also liked the kind of creative projects that they had done before, but it ultimately boiled down to their budget, which was right where we needed it to be.

The entire music video cost almost $750,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from March 2016–March 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our end goal was to make our client — the artist — happy, and we were able to achieve that with Giant Propeller’s help. Upon the video’s release, it generated hundreds of millions of views and received a lot of rave reviews. The work was just phenomenal. People were talking about the amount of VFX work that went into it, and there were even a couple of magazine write-ups regarding it.

How did Giant Propeller perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. I didn’t have any issues with them. They prepared us well for the scope of the project and the amount of work that needed to be done. 

We generally used email for our communication, but I was mostly in their office and working with them in person because I was the producer for the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Giant Propper has a well-versed team that can really deliver across a lot of large-scale VFX needs. I’ve worked with other VFX companies in the past, and they just weren’t as willing to get the job done or as easy to work with as Giant Propeller. With this team, we never ran into any uncomfortable change orders. They always understood our requirements and transparently communicated what obstacles we were up against, and these qualities played a big part in accomplishing a project that size.

I can’t think of anything, to be honest. The project went way more smoothly than I could’ve imagined.

We were starting a new brand, so we were looking for a professional company to collaborate with us in developing many things related to it, including the brand voice and brand imagery. Additionally, we needed help to develop a website, as well as support with email marketing and text message campaigns.

Giant Propeller has developed our new brand’s e-commerce site in Shopify. They’ve also helped us define our brand’s colors and imagery. We already had the logo and general branding when we engaged with them, but they gave it a polished image and a voice.

Thus, in addition to building the website, Giant Propeller has also helped us create email and text message marketing campaigns. Giant Propeller has gotten our ideas together and come up with excellent new ideas to help us get our brand off the ground. Additionally, they’ve been instrumental in doing the heavy-lifting work related to setting up our initial systems, such as our website and our email and text message marketing tools. I would definitely recommend them.

Giant Propeller’s project management has been excellent. We use Slack to communicate.

I’m the founder of a consulting services company that specializes in optimizing an organization’s UX and customer journeys by identifying pain points and opportunities to resolve issues within the company.

One of my clients was having a unique problem of having a significant amount of traffic coming into their website while garnering a low conversion rate, so we looked for a partner that can help supplement our efforts in finding solutions for this problem.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started our partnership with Giant Propeller by doing an audit of our client’s website, social media channels, and marketing strategies.

Through this, we found that the best use for their services was having them completely redesign the website, so they set up strategies to build out a project plan that won’t make us lose engagement and traffic on our website.

We then decided to move our website into the Shopify platform, along with a rebrand that immediately gave us good traffic. Apart from that, we did a rebrand that contained photoshoots, the creation of a content calendar, and digital marketing strategies.

Thanks to Giant Propeller, we increased our client’s conversion rate by 400%, improved our ROAS, and gained 80,000 users from our loyalty program. We’ve also had a 49% growth on our email list and a 50% growth in our social media following.

They’re excellent from a project management perspective, as they exceed our expectations in terms of communication and adherence to timelines. They’re also really good at staying on top of our milestones, as well as being flexible in their pricing service packages.

One thing that Giant Propeller does that’s very unique is their deep understanding of the customer journey. They break the numbers down, deliver the results, and make the customers feel special.

It’s not a big issue, but it would be great if they can be closer to our area.

I am the Chief Marketing Officer at 1/ST and oversee the marketing output across our national venues, all rooted in sports and entertainment.

Giant Propeller has created sponsorship decks to help enable our sales team to close 6-figure deals. Their campaign assets help our teams drive revenue across our venues.

Giant Propeller is very organized. Our process with them starts with a verbal brief where we outline our objectives. Following that, we'll align on a written brief based on the initial discovery and conversation so that we are very clear on the creative brief and the deliverables required.

Then, we typically get a good glimpse into their progress on the work and execution with checks along the way to ensure we get to a strong final product.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Giant Propeller has a revenue mindset which aligns with our goals. Their team truly understands the business objectives and applies an "art" + "science" methodology to their approach. They are super creative, honest, organized and easy to work with. Giant Propeller is great and a huge support to our business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing that I can think of. They are very responsive and attentive to our needs which is why they are a long term client.

For what projects/services did your company hire Giant Propeller, and what were your goals?

We have engaged with Giant Propellor for several projects over the years. Most notably would be their efforts on the re-branding of our company. At the time we were well established in our field, but we were using an outdated logo and font, it was not impactful nor did it represent the culture and brand that we felt we had established.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We had some preliminary discussions about GP's capability. From these discovery calls we could see that GP was really vested in getting the problem solved and matched the talent of their team to our project. They're process took much of the headache out of the vetting and vendor process.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

Our branding exercise consisted of establishing a new logo, wordmark, brand guideline, and color palette. We first started with an exercise where GP started a discussion about our values, culture, and ambitions. Really what inspired us and what our desired vibe was going to be., This was a very different approach than we had seen with previous agencies, and really got our team excited. From this exercise we went into several proposals and rounds of iterations. Each refinement we got closer and closer. Our iconic logo was something that we wanted to keep from our past as well, but update it to the new branding and image of the company-- this was what excited me the most, because GP nailed it. The new iconic logo is proudly on all of our products-- bold and memorable.

We were worked with several team members, most notably Audri Taverna. Audri was instrumental in this project in meeting our criteria and goals.

GP was very organized and clear-- each iteration was numbered so we could give concise notes. We worked on a somewhat compressed timeframe.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
