The project involved transforming this spreadsheet-based workflow into a dedicated web platform and mobile application, while preserving the underlying engineering logic and calculation methods.

The platform integrates AI features, multiple APIs, and several custom modules, all tailored to the needs of our engineering environment and our operational processes.

Overall, the goal was to industrialize and scale a complex internal tool, turning it into a robust application capable of handling technical analyses, automated report generation, and structured data processing.

The project was delivered within the expected timeline, which was an important objective for us.

The platform has significantly improved our internal processes by saving a substantial amount of time and operational effort compared to our previous workflow based on Google Sheets. Many tasks that were previously manual or time-consuming are now automated, which allows our team to focus more on analysis and decision-making rather than data processing.

Overall, the tool has become a key operational asset for our engineering activities. In the longer term, it could also potentially be commercialized as a software solution for other professionals facing similar needs.

Their project management has been excellent.

They delivered the different milestones on time and maintained a very structured and transparent process throughout the project. Communication was clear, and everything was well explained at each step, which made it very easy for us to follow the progress and make decisions when needed. Bunch of modern and efficient tool were used.

There were a few differences between the initial pre-sale estimate and the final cost, but aside from that the overall project follow-up has been extremely precise and transparent.

Working with Anhelina as project manager has been a real pleasure. We were very lucky to have her on the project. She is brilliant, highly organized, and the level of follow-up and clarity she provides is outstanding.

Overall, the collaboration has been very smooth and we truly have nothing negative to say about the project management.

What impressed us the most was their rigor, follow-up, and overall professionalism throughout the project.

They consistently demonstrated a strong attention to detail and maintained a very structured approach in their work and communication. What also stood out is that they were often on the client’s side when making decisions, actively trying to limit unnecessary costs and find practical solutions that would fit within the budget.

We truly felt that the team was genuinely invested in aligning with our interests and building a long-term relationship, rather than focusing only on short-term project delivery. That mindset is extremely valuable and, in our view, fundamental for a successful collaboration.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fulcrum could have done differently?

One area that could be improved concerns cost control at the beginning of the project. The pre-sale estimation ended up being significantly below the final scope and cost of the project, which made the initial budget expectations somewhat difficult to manage at the start.

Aside from that, we honestly have nothing else to report. The collaboration, the follow-up, and the professionalism of the team have been excellent.

Overall, we would recommend Fulcrum without hesitation.

What impressed us most was their willingness to help at every stage of the project. They were incredibly fast and responsive whenever we reached out, and the quality of their work consistently met or exceeded our expectations.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the collaboration. If anything, we’re always looking for ways to decrease our development budget, so exploring more opportunities to integrate AI-assisted coding or automation could be helpful in the future. That said, they may already be doing some of this behind the scenes.

We needed the technology developed as quickly as possible with a minimum viable feature set, and they knew exactly where to save time and money—both from a feature and technology standpoint. They expertly identified when to leverage third-party solutions to accelerate our time to market and when to remove nonessential features that didn’t align with immediate, near-term value. This focus ensured the technology’s long-term success.

Our experience working with them has been amazing and we can't imagine, nor do we want to, continuing to develop our product without them. We are actively consulting with them on how we can build a stronger relationship so that we're staying ahead of industry trends in our particular vertical.

Our first request was for Fulcrum to consult on the product we wanted to develop. The team conducted a needs assessment and product development process to determine what solution we required to build to meet our customers' needs. Fulcrum delivered a clickable prototype and a POC for an iOS app so we could showcase our concept to potential investors. The team worked on Figma and React Native. The app is a platform for individuals and couples trying to get pregnant. Users can log in to the app and invite their partners to join.

Fulcrum's work exceeded our expectations regarding professionalism and attention to detail. The team was very responsible and adapted to our changing requirements being an early start up. The entire team was great to work with, and any limitations that happened were on my end. Fulcrum was an incredible team to work with.

How did Fulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?

Fulcrum was highly responsive and delivered work on time. The project's final budget was more than we expected, but this was due to our uncertainty regarding the app requirements. We changed our minds during the process, and that cost money, of course.

The team then provides both pessimistic and optimistic estimates, and, by and large, deliverables are delivered on time. Daily project updates offer visibility into all aspects of project development. The team is always open to questions and eager to provide a quality solution to meet business needs.

What I found most impressive about this company is their ability to seamlessly integrate team members as if they were our own in-house staff. These team members essentially function as our own startup employees. The only distinction is that they all work remotely. 

Yet, there's no difference in what they can accomplish compared to any other team you might hire in the USA. It truly feels like having a skilled remote team at your disposal, and that too at a lower cost than hiring in the US or other parts of Europe

Every organization, including Fulcrum, has aspects they can refine. Within the context of software development, honing the accuracy of project estimates stands out as an area where the team could further improve.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fulcrum?

We hired Fulcrum to help us build our vision and create a financial marketplace.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fulcrum developed a financial marketplace. They began by walking us through a discovery phase where we told them about what we wanted our product to do. They then helped us visualize our intended users and identified their motivations for using the marketplace. Once we figured that out, they helped us design our platform’s technology architecture and design what the full stack would be from a technical point of view — which involved the front- and backend development, APIs, and more.

Additionally, they helped us gather competitive analysis to see what other companies were doing that were similar to us. By doing that, we were able to see what we really wanted to be and what we wanted to avoid on our platform. Subsequently, they provided us with initial designs of all our pages, which involved creating our buttons, screen views, forms, user stories, and logic. In doing so, we were able to see how our users would register and how they could customize our platform — basically establishing the full process from end to end for both front- and backend interactions. The team now continues to add more features to the platform.

We really liked how well it was made and how they used the same technology stack as us. After that, we scheduled a call with them and explained our project. They were also really friendly on the phone.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing collaboration started in May 2021, and we expect to finish the project in November 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Fulcrum delivered our product ahead of schedule. Our customer really liked what they created, so they extended the original contract. As a result, the team continues to integrate more features into the platform. However, we don’t have any metrics about their work yet — hopefully, in a few months, we’ll have that.

How did Fulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been performing great from a project management standpoint. They’re good communicators, and they have a good process in place so it’s easy to follow exactly what they’re doing and understand their progress. We communicate on Slack and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Fulcrum is always available, and they create good documentation. As a result, it’s easy to go back and track their progress.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re doing a pretty good job.

Get your users involved early on and collect their feedback. If you do that, you can iterate successfully.

We approached Fulcrum in the very realy stages of the conspet and initial scheme of the site we wanted. We wanted to build a site as good as the top players in our field in terms of technology and site features, Mobile adaption and flexible to changes and additions as we go. a main consideration was a very short time for delivery. we wanted to be live in 2 month.

Fulcrum was the first company we partnered with based on the recommendations from one of our colleagues that have already built products with them. Before we settled with Fulcrum, we considered 6 other companies which we had found on Google.

There were several deciding factors why we chose Fulcrum. The first and the biggest one was a personal recommendation. We knew that Fulcrum has managed to build things before & already delivered projects. Next was the price – it suited us well. Also, timelines were really crucial for us and we needed someone who would meet them.

The team started by preparing a PRD for a website. After it was created, we actually proceeded to its development. Fulcrum did a great job here: the development was amazing, the team met all the timelines, provided high quality, and demonstrated a flexible approach. After the development was finished, the website went live.

There were 5 people on the team: 2 developers, QA, PM, and Account Manager. My main points of contact were Sergey, a PM, and Alex, an Account Manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The website is active now & working well. We already have the first purchases. So, the concept proved to be working and we are right now at the stage of raising another funding in order to grow and move to the next step. Our plans in the near future are to proceed with website development & add more functionality.

During the development, project management was on a high level. Communication went pretty well. We mainly communicated via Slack and also sometimes had meetings in Zoom. The team’s English skills were great, too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

First and foremost, we were impressed by Fulcrum’s flexibility, which is especially suitable for a startup like us. Their approach worked very well for us and it was totally pro-client. Overall, the website development was professional, proactive, and on schedule. It was more than we expected. For us – a startup that faces lots of unknown issues and problems – Fulcrum was a stable point in this project in terms of the development & following the timelines.

They did their job with great professionalism and made us happy with the website they built. So far, I don’t see any considerable areas of improvement for Fulcrum.
