The project covered the full rebuild and launch of three WordPress websites: OEX Cursor (the primary site and parent theme), ProPeople, and MerService. Fooz designed and built a shared parent WordPress theme with a custom Gutenberg block library, from which ProPeople and MerService inherited via child themes. This meant modules built for one brand could be reused across the others - the same component used for team photos on Cursor served as the client logo block on MerService.

Additional deliverables included: migration and selective restructuring of existing content (with SEO triage and redirect mapping done in coordination with our SEO agency), integration with our recruitment platform so job listings sync automatically across brands, migration and refinement of our existing CRM lead capture forms, automated English translation of the Oex Cursor site via Fooz Live Translate integration with DeepL, and the implementation of a custom Protected Editor user role that allows non-marketing staff to publish content within a defined scope without accessing the full CMS.

• Inbound lead volume increased by approximately 30% in the months following launch, without running any new paid acquisition campaigns
• PageSpeed Performance on mobile: Cursor 90, ProPeople 84, MerService 84
• PageSpeed SEO score: 100% across all three sites
• SEO rankings maintained post-migration — we specifically didn't want to lose positions on key phrases, and that held
• Build time efficiency: the Cursor parent theme took ~700 hours; ProPeople was delivered in ~35 hours off that foundation; MerService in ~160 hours
• Perhaps the most meaningful outcome: before the project, our website effectively wasn't used as a marketing tool - the old CMS was too painful to work with. After the rebuild, the site became the central axis of our marketing operations. The team now publishes landing pages, client reports, and premium content independently, without involving a developer

I'd rate the project management 5 out of 5. We communicated primarily via Slack and regular status calls - biweekly at the start, weekly as we approached launch. What stood out was responsiveness: I'm used to waiting for replies, but with Fooz it was the opposite. Messages on Slack were picked up quickly, and before launch, when one of the PMs went on leave and another stepped in at short notice, he was still available for a call in the evening to unblock an issue. That kind of availability made a real difference when we were pushing to meet our rebranding launch date.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their modular approach to WordPress - and the way it was presented to us. Most agencies we spoke to showed us generic WordPress demos. Fooz showed us a system where the same block could serve completely different functions across different brands, and where a new team member with no WordPress experience could go into the CMS and get 80% of things right without any training. For a marketing team managing three brands simultaneously, that level of editorial independence is genuinely valuable. The consultative approach during the sales process - where they brought in their Head of Delivery to walk us through a live demo rather than just pitching - also built confidence early that these were people who understood the problem, not just the deliverable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Fooz could have done differently?

The discovery and scoping phase could have been more granular on the workshop and estimation side - one of the competing agencies presented a more detailed discovery offering at that stage. During the project itself, we ended up spending slightly more than the original budget, partly because we added scope mid-project (an English version of the site, additional modules for one site), so some of that is on us.
