We started working on the planning. During that stage, they helped us review in detail what we needed and all the steps to follow to achieve it. The entire architecture, web design, app, and execution plan for the entire implementation stage were delivered, taking into account the SCRUM methodology.
For the implementation stage, they had a full development team, so basically the deliverables were according to plan. They delivered new functionalities for the desktop and mobile web following the plan. In the end, when all partial deliverables were done, they delivered the complete platform in a real environment.
After that we continued working on all maintenance and support services, evolving various features. Each time, we decided what we would like to include and then reviewed it internally to have the time definition for each new requirement.

Process optimization, agility and traceability were carried out, which allowed us to add value to the business objectives.

Scope included complete multi-lingual mobile app development in both IOS/Android platforms of brand new solution for startup company in the construction compliance space (Mege-Tek). It involved data model / database design, architecture design, security design and UI/UX design. 

The app enables multiple stakeholders to communicate via embedded chat capabilities, upload/download of documents, generation of and submittal of reports both on schedule and on demand. Once initial MVP was releases on app stores, ongoing releases have been published based on new requirements.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project(s) follow an agile / scrum master methodology, with clear deliverables by sprint, from planning and scheduling to testing and migration to a production environment, hosted in MS Azure. 

In between sprints, progress sessions were held that ensured close alignment to scope and timelines. After each meeting, minutes were provided with details, action items and agreements. Any "ahead of schedule" or "delays" were reported timely and overall, the project was delivered on time, and on budget.

Project Management was (is) top-notch, with Subject Matter Experts (scrum masters) driving agile methodology. Delivery of sprints on time, and usually above expectations (UI/UX is fantastic, solid DB, and clean/secure backend-frontend comms) . 

The team spent the time to understand our objectives, the problem statement for our app and challenged us for clarifications or provided unsolicited recommendations based on their expertise in multiple industries. As the app took form, the team was able to adjust to last-minute changes via controlled change order processes, that provided comfort to both parties.

Quality of Staff at all levels, from Upper Management, to Project Management, Engineers (back end, FrontEnd, UI/UX) and Operations. I was impressed with their ability and willingness to provide only the best results at all times and their commitment to scope, timelines. Solid R&D and QA. 

This translated into extremely limited to non-existent bugs reported once the app was available in the stores. Similarly, they are a company very easy to do business with (commercial and technical levels).

Foonkie Monkey was referred to us by a trusted source. We reached out and established a relationship. They immediately helped us connect with a few different engineers. We hired the 3rd or 4th engineer we interviewed.

Our project is a Ruby/Rails web app, with mobile components. The role requires fullstack experience and the ability to jump in at any place on the stack. Customer and product requirements vary often and require flexibility. So the persons we seek must be OK with ambiguity and be self-starting to do research.

We first discussed the overall project with Foonkie and the types of people we were seeking. After identifying some initial candidates we would send them a take-home test. Upon completion we would all connect and review the take-home test and discuss the role in more detail.

We gave them our research and the business wireframe that we had put together, and they did further scoping based on the requirements and how they thought we should proceed. They came up with the project scope and presented that to us based on the information that we gave them and their findings. 

They then put together a proposal that broke down the timeframe for the creation of the front- and backend development and the administrator and UI component. 

We are currently building a few different phases of the project and plan to launch in early 2023.

We have metrics based on meeting milestones. We are particular about needing to know what challenges might come up because we want to know what might impede us from our planned release date. They have come a long way in terms of understanding and managing our expectations. 

They have been very receptive and responsive to these milestones and expectations we have, and we’ve seen positive outcomes in regard to the process that we’ve set for them.

They are very astute and prompt in their response. They are good listeners and have great project managers and leadership teams. They process how we are responding to them, and are very transparent about where they are leading us. 

We use Slack and Trello for communication and project management.

They come up with valuable and helpful solutions when problems arise, and they are not afraid to go back to the drawing board to figure out those solutions. They are eager to help, flexible in their approach, and go outside the box for answers. They are willing to modulate and research ideas, and are good about articulating that to us. 

They’ve also been very collaborative with us throughout the project.

We’ve had no issues with them based on their credentials, but we do think they could work on communicating effectively and extensively. We would prefer if they over-communicated with us, so that nothing is left up to assumptions.
