I’m the VP of IT at a nationwide compound pharmaceutical manufacturer. We are growing rapidly and have locations in Texas and New Jersey.

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

My company uses an Infor SyteLine cloud-hosted ERP solution that came with an inadequate user portal. The portal is an important feature, since 98% of our orders come in through it. We wanted to build a custom portal that was more flexible, feature-rich, and user-friendly, and that could be integrated with our back-office ERP system.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Experion Technologies augmented with our small in-house app development team. To develop the portal, we leveraged them for user experience, web development, QA and software testing, and more. My team provided Experion Technologies with a feature roadmap. They used Microsoft and a variety of development platforms to add custom messaging, more product data and photos, and a recurring orders feature. Experion Technologies also made the portal profile-based, so different users see a different interface when they log in.

They completed and launched the portal and now provide ongoing support.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–6 Experion Technologies team members, including a project manager or technical lead, coders and developers, UX designer, and QA testers.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

My company’s sourcing team member found a few offshore vendors. We evaluated 3­–4 companies in an RFP process. Experion Technologies was our top choice based on their reasonable prices and development approach. We also liked the account lead and technical personnel we spoke with early on.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in June 2018. The portal went live in February or March 2019, and all of our customers converted to it. Although the portal is up and running, we are still working with Experion Technologies on enhancements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Positive feedback is an intangible benefit of Experion Technologies’s work. Customers report a more enjoyable user experience. The recurring order feature allows us to lock-in orders for up to a year, driving top-line growth and greater revenue streams.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

When we began the project, my company lacked detailed requirements and were not as prescriptive as we should have been. Despite this, Experion Technologies has remained flexible. They use Basecamp to organize sprints and communicate. We also use Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If there is an issue, Experion Technologies is more than eager to address it. My team has a great working model with them. When we really need to get something done and the time zone difference is making that difficult, Experion Technologies sends one or two resources to work in-person with our team for an extended period of time. They are more than willing to go the extra mile to make our partnership work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only challenge we’ve had with them is in QA and software testing. We have received iterations back from them that should be ready to go into production but instead have slight errors or don’t quite match the requirements that we felt were clear. My team has addressed this issue twice, and we’re still not fully satisfied with QA. However, Experion Technologies recently replaced some of their resources, so I’m hoping that eases the issue. They are doing whatever they can to improve for us.

Any advice for potential customers?

With any offshore vendor, organization is key. Make sure you have detailed requirements and a dedicated project manager.

I’m the director of information technology for a telephonic behavior health services provider. We work with organizations across the US, answering their phones and providing 24/7 crisis access to suicide prevention hotlines.

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

Our software is fully custom developed, and we needed to redesign the app based on current technologies. We’d partnered with a different firm a few years back, but it wasn’t successful. We needed a partner who could meet our project goals.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Experion Technologies is our sole development team responsible for both resolving bugs and managing ongoing development for our Azure .NET web app. They work on various small projects, such as fine-tuning the app to make it more effective at using Azure resources. They’ve also worked on cost reduction within the app.

What is the team composition? 

Their team is about 15 people, including a project manager, Azure experts, .NET engineers, and higher-level roles.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

We found Experion Technologies on Clutch. We reviewed six different organizations, and they kept rising to the top, so we reached out to them to get to know more. They had both the economy of scale and skill set we wanted, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We partnered in June 2018, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re getting five times the expertise and resources and only spending about a quarter or less of our original dev firm. They produce more results, work harder, and have more expertise than our previous partner.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We use a combination of different dev tools to track user stories and project progress. They deliver on time and consistently exceed our expectations. Unlike others, they’re responsive and always available when we need help.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a large number of experts within their organization, and they’re incredibly quick and efficient.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The time zone difference can sometimes be a problem.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Do your due diligence, but I highly recommend them.

I’m a global manager for ASK Chemicals, a foundry consumable provider. We provide products and services to sand casting and dye casting foundries. Specifically, we provide binder resins, coatings, additives, release agents, feeding systems, and auxiliares as well as simulation software and technical services. I manage marketing and communications in the Americas and our enterprise mobile applications. Most of these solutions interface with our Microsoft Dynamics-based CRM system.

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

We had a hardware footprint problem. All of our commercial sales and technical service resources were carrying laptops, iPhones, and iPads at the same time. These teams needed to be more mobile. We hired Experion Technologies to transfer our software API from iOS to Microsoft and create a dual all-in-one system for laptop and tablet.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided our API for the quotation, which Experion Technologies used to create the estimate. The project comprises 15 sprints. We are rolling out project management tools on a weekly basis.

What is the team composition?

I work with the project manager, lead engineers (including the principal engineer), and the UI/UX leads. But I’m in contact with everyone on their team.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

We had a vendor, but they could not execute the project at the price point we wanted. I used Clutch to find a company with the necessary skill, efficiency, and budget. Experion Technologies had great references and a phenomenal price point. Those factors were our primary reasons for hiring them.

Furthermore, they flew the project manager out to meet our team and review the application. That service augmented anything we could have accomplished on Skype. Importantly, Experion Technologies factored that visit into the estimate, which distinguished them from other vendors.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Experion Technologies is committed to success. They want to make the app better. Likewise, the team is agile when making any tweaks. Currently, the solution is still an iOS app while the Microsoft version is still in production. Experion Technologies is working at a fast pace. Per the schedule, we should be on sprint nine but the team is finishing sprint 11.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We talk once or twice per week, depending on need and complexity. They communicate well and thoroughly address all of our review changes. Experion Technologies will stay on the call as long as it takes to help us. We appreciate their willingness to work late at night. The teams interact via Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Experion Technologies’ efficiency stands out. The team has accomplished what other developers thought would be difficult. Although I was skeptical at the beginning, they’ve proved their engineering prowess.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s a slight language barrier due to the different English dialects, but we always find a way to communicate well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They are an engineering company with UI resources. But clients that are critical about UI may want to hire another vendor to provide graphics for Experion Technologies.

I'm the founder of a fintech startup that is developing a technology based marketplace to bring transparency, actionability, and efficiency to the mostly opaque market of equity finance and stock loan.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

There is already a somewhat active marketplace for equity finance products, but there presently exists no single place that a market participant can go to for pricing, analysis, comparison and liquidity for the different types of products in a single place. We wanted to create a unified, intuitive and efficient way for users to compare and trade these products. We were looking for a partner to help us develop a new platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I came to them with a basic concept of what we wanted to accomplish and they helped me turn it into a usable product. They designed the interface and produced the mockups, overseeing every detail of the UX/UI.

Then, they developed the complete stack of a Windows C# platform that has a central server matching the interests of buyers and sellers. It's a desktop platform with a cloud-based server.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with as many as 12 people at a time.

How did you come to work with them?

I reached out to about 20 different developers, but Experion had the deepest bench of people with the exact skills that I needed.

How much have you invested with them?

The estimated budget for the ongoing phase and the upcoming phases is more than $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2016 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're still in a beta phase, but we've already got some overwhelmingly positive feedback and we compare very favorably to the other products that are in the marketplace. They have a highly-skilled team that is able to address any bugs or crashes (which are part of any software development process). They're based in India, but we're very happy with the response times and the results we've received so far.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a very efficient way of communicating with us and always assign the right team members to our project. We use Basecamp as our primary means of communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their efficiency is what stands out to me the most. They jumped on a fairly aggressive project, which ended up being bigger than we thought, but they never backed off. They worked with us on a daily basis to achieve the results we needed. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

A lot of developers out there will tell you that they can learn a new technology, but it's best to stick to a team that already has the core competencies that you need. Do your due diligence before you hire any developer before you commit to a contract.

I'm the CEO and founder of Salesboost, LLC, an organization that assists people in learning effective communication and sales techniques through voice analysis training.

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

We needed to work with a developer that could handle AI, machine learning, and platforms that scale quickly. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Experion cleaned up our code, organizes our workflows, enhances our web design and UI, builds our new prototypes with AI and provides server support (similar to Rackspace). They also handle product development, QA testing, staging, and live production.

They took our previous vendor's code and cleaned it up, so it would work with minimal errors. Along the way, they've also updated all of our CMS pages, enhanced our pricing analysis tool and created a playground environment.

What is the team composition?

I work with six to eight people on their team, which includes business developers, a project manager and product owner, business analysts, QA testers, and other support.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

We vetted about 20 different organizations when we were trying to replace our previous developer. We saw that Experion had a lot of great reviews on Clutch, so we sent them an RFI and liked what they came back with. We immediately felt that their attention to detail and attentiveness to customer needs set them apart. They're also honest about their results, delivering on their promises accurately and on time.

We've invested about $200,000 thus far.

We've been working together since September 2016 and the relationship is ongoing.

Experion successfully launched our product with minimal bugs under a tight timeline and within budget. They continue to respond to any bandwidth issues with a sense of urgency.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very responsive in communications, regardless of which staff they're in touch with on our end. We hold a weekly status call with the project manager and owner, as well as a weekly check-in and about six rollouts per year. They keep all tasks organized through Jira and Confluence.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They deliver on their promises and have a great business acumen for fast-paced product development.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It was very helpful for us to find options through Clutch, where other customers left detailed reviews of their experiences with them. I suggest sending an RFI to the vendors you want to consider and evaluate how thorough their responses are before making a decision. Meet with them in person if possible to review the RFP, get pricing, and a sense of their communications style.

As far as working with Experion specifically, I can't say enough good things about them. They have a high level of integrity and we wouldn't change a thing about our experience.

BACKGROUND

I am the President of MessageXpress. We provide data services and custom software packages, generally for small or medium-sized firms in the transportation industry.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

We contracted with Experion Technologies to build our web platform and mobile application. Our intention was to build a tool that would allow trucking firms to better manage their business by tracking trucks, drivers, and equipment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We asked them to complete a smaller project first to make sure they met our expectations and see that our teams were compatible. They performed well, so we decided to proceed. Our product was designed to be a paperless data management system. It allows for day-to-day load management processing, driver information, QuickBooks integration, and analytical reporting. The web platform utilizes Silverlight and C#, and the mobile app is available for both Android and iOS.

What is the team composition?

At the peak of our project, we were working with five developers.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

We found them through a web search and interviewed three or four other firms. We were impressed with their interview and felt comfortable working with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $45,000–$50,000. Our projected budget for the current Experion team for the ongoing development is estimated to be a little over $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in October 2017 and have ongoing work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After the first few projects, Experion Technologies has become more seasoned and familiar with our standards and our personnel. We have developed a healthy and trusting working relationship. They’ve just recently added document imaging on our product where a customer can scan an image and find that image on the server and attach it to a specific load or order within the system. The entirety of their work makes it easier for our customers to do their jobs.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We set specific goals, but we do not have a rigid project management agreement outside of our Slack, email, and conference call communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We can always rely on them to meet deadlines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I specifically wanted to work with an overseas firm because I was unable to find an American company at a reasonable price. That said, I would welcome an opportunity to work in person with Experion Technologies.

I’m the CEO of an agriculture IoT company. We automate indoor agriculture software and hardware.

We wanted help building the initial prototypes, proofs of concept, and outlays.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used cloud-based APIs and interfaces to build the portal dashboard. They helped us test the APIs from the sensors and technologies I provided. Their knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) helped us build our web services. They were crucial to the product's implementation. We’re now in the investigation phase of our next project.

They assigned eight people to the project, including two primary developers, several top engineers, and a few other developers who offered guidance. I mainly worked with the project manager.

We searched globally and researched the market. I spoke to large vendors in India and small vendors in other places. Experion Technologies had lots of experience in this space, and they fit our profile best.

Their work quality was high and their commitment was strong. Since their project plans were transparent, I could control their implementation and testing of the product. It helped that I went to their headquarters for a few days and talked to them about the process.

I’m happy with the product. My customers know about them, and my company has grown by leaps and bounds. If I didn’t like the quality of work, I wouldn’t have continued with them.

We called the team weekly. Everything was on time, including their project management proposal. They planned tasks and checked in every week. The project manager's ethics were good.

I was impressed by their transparency, the quality of their work, and the process they utilized to make the engagement successful.

They could test more, but I’d want that from any vendor.

Spend time with the development team before rushing headlong into product development. Build a relationship, and everything will be seamless.

For what projects/services did your company hire Experion Technologies?

Our client had to maintain 10,000 parts in stock to cover car warranty obligations, but also had to manage stock to a zero level as the cars were no longer under parts available warranty.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to achieve zero stock and therefore zero write-off cost in 10 years, when all parts will no longer be required.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were looking for a low-cost firm with good project management skills, and I heard about them through industry word of mouth.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

Based on our functional specs, Experion developed all the code, the tech specs, and the scope of work. They also handled data loading and code QA completely.

What was the team composition?

I worked with a project manager, business analyst, three developers, and two testers from Experion.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our client is happy with the result. After a slow period of scope agreement, the project went exactly to time and budget.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The Experion project manager and business analyst were allowed to interact directly with our client, so it was very effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have excellent project management and business analysis skills for a low, blended cost. Their developers were competent, but not outstanding in terms of speed. They’re very diligent in driving towards solutions in tricky, business logic situations that have a good deal of complexity and industry jargon.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

There were some minor delays in turnaround time for "what-ifs" and "hat impact” questions. They could also improve their testing scenarios.

We needed a vendor to develop and launch a service marketplace.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to use an Amazon Web Services (AWS) serverless architecture. They created the initial design, which their AWS specialist later modified for the architecture. He coded in Node.js. Experion launched the platform in November 2017. We’ve continued to make enhancements since then.

What is the team composition?

In addition to the frontend team, they had a senior architect, the AWS specialist architect, a project manager, and a delivery manager.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

I contacted their business development manager after one of my friends referred me. During our meeting, I asked them to submit an architecture proposal. I hired them based on that proposal; we then developed the project plan.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent 60,000 AUD ($45,401).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them between March–November 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Costs were significantly less than domestic vendors. Since I don’t have web development experience, I relied on their expertise. However, the UX/UI designs received mixed feedback; some visitors said both had room for improvement. Currently, we’re working to enhance these designs.

How did Experion perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager was accessible and present at most meetings. He worked well as both a direct contact and intermediary. The delivery manager handled most issues in a satisfactory manner.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This was among their first AWS projects. The team knew success required collaboration and a slight learning curve. The project was a learning opportunity for both sides.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Only the UX/UI got negative feedback. They should upgrade their design skill sets.

I’m the founder and chief architect of a software for nonprofits building a management and communications platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Experion Technologies?

I needed a big team of developers who had experience building a fast-paced product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I provided the wireframes and concept, and Experion took care of the actual build. We did week-to-week sprints, which I organized from most important to least important features for the web-based product.

I told them I was fine with using whatever services they thought best, but I wanted to be able to choose; I didn’t want them to just force one on me. They took that to heart and did a lot of backend research to show the pros and cons of different services. Experion provides valuable insight into what tools we should use and how aspects should be built, but the final decision is mine.

What is the team composition?

There's a team of 22 people and two project managers: one is overseas, and the other is in the U.S. The developers are on our weekly calls, but I only speak with the project managers.

How did you come to work with Experion Technologies?

I found three development firms on Clutch, and I contacted all of them. My biggest concern was response time, so this was to see who responded first. Two of them didn’t respond for two days. One of the partners at Experion responded within fifteen minutes, which was a great start. I flew out there to meet them, and then we signed a deal.

We’ve spent between $200,000 and $999,999 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began in September 2017, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They get through all of their sprints on time and even add to them. They go above and beyond for all the features they build. My team is conducting a live review of Experion’s work right now, and we haven’t had any crashes.

How did Experion Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Every week, we have a conference call with the lead developers, their team, and the project manager. They’ve met nearly all of our deadlines, so we’re on track, and we don’t have much scope creep because everything is clearly defined.

We use Basecamp as our project management tool and WhatsApp for daily communication. For more formal conversations, we use email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Experion seems to truly care about my success and doing a good job. They’re quick to respond to my decisions, and they’re often ahead of me, which is impressive. With other similar providers, I’ve felt like they just care about making money and not about building something good and functional. With Experion, they look out for my best interest.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The language barrier sometimes causes problems. Communication could be clearer on both sides, but language has definitely slowed us down a bit.

Look at their past work to see if it fits your needs. Meet their project managers and have a conversation.
