I'm responsible for marketing and communications at a young biotechnology company. We launched a new product and vision for curing cancer.

What challenge were you trying to address with eobiont?

We needed a good website that told the story of our motivated team and showcased our novel technology to the world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

eobiont has designed and developed our website from scratch. I initially provided the team with our corporate design manual, which includes color schemes and principles for their use. I've also provided a brochure we had compiled for investors, which has a different lingo than we expected from the website. eobiont uses various technologies, including Adobe Suite and a headless CMS called Strapi. eobiont has launched our website and is fixing bugs on the backend.

I've worked with two teammates from eobiont, including Daniel (Creative Director).

How did you come to work with eobiont?

I found eobiont through an ad I placed in Sortlist. They responded to my ad and were very enthusiastic. eobiont reflected the enthusiasm we got from our team in curing cancer and wanted to get on board with our mission. I was convinced when I checked the team's website because it's very unusual and reveals their creativity in different ways.
How much have you invested with them?

We've spent €20,000 (approximately $21,600 USD) on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with eobiont in November 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

eobiont has delivered a website that brilliantly showcases the path our company is on. The site is unique, with top-notch and modern design. The site's experience is new to users, and aren't used to interacting with a site like ours, all of which was intended.

How did eobiont perform from a project management standpoint?

We have quite tight timelines from both sides, and there was a misunderstanding about some deadlines at the beginning of the project. However, we've been in close contact with eobiont, who has solved those timeline issues beautifully. In the end, eobiont has managed to keep the deadline given by my CEO and launch the website on time, although the team is still working on the backend. We're in good contact and meet in person to discuss how to resolve the issues. Good teamwork. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I'd like to highlight Daniel's work. He's always motivated and engaged with our project. He has contributed a lot of good points in developing our story, and it's been a joy working with him on creating the storyline for our company. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm impressed with eobiont's initiative and creative ideas. The project doesn't consist of me just asking things; eobiont has their mind rolling. Even before we start a meeting, the team shares ideas they have thought since our previous meeting. eobiont is very engaged and gives us feedback; I've always felt they live my project, and it is a nice feeling. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing eobiont can improve is communication about deadlines. We need to get in tune with deadlines and understand the development technicalities of the backend compared to the creative side. That wasn't clearly communicated, which got us into some trouble during the process. At the end of the day, it's just a tiny point of improvement for eobiont.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I advise customers to have an open mind about the development process and be convinced about their project to get eobiont in the same boat. The process requires collaboration and not just requesting things from the team because the creative process can't start. eobiont is open and has disposition.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In 2018 Transporeon was growing fast and needed a update to his brand architecture, brand identity, website and marketing collaterals. eobiont supported us with consulting, strategy workshops, and rebranding design. Furthermore the development of new marketing materials.

Projects of this kind are very demanding. No matter how stressful it was, we were one team. No matter if Eobiont, Transporen or the web agency involved. Both on-site and digitally, the meetings were always pleasant and productive. Even if it was on short notice, the Eobiont team was still patient with us. It's rare that you can rely on each other like that.

In collaboration, I would insist on a shared ticket system today in order to have a better overview of the tasks.

I’m a former marketing manager for German partners at Oracle, an IT company. I was responsible for a specific network and all marketing activities, including digital marketing and social media. Currently, I’m in another division.

What challenge were you trying to address with eobiont?

We hired them to help us with our social media campaign for the German market. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

eobiont provided us with social media marketing (SMM) services. They helped us with a social media campaign for the partners in the German market. The team led a two-day workshop with 20 of our managers. The campaign focused on our partners within Germany in the different blocks and pillars. Our goal was to raise awareness about our cloud solution.

The campaign had two primary audiences, including new partners we wanted to reach with our programs. We also wanted to reach our existing partners and show them a journey of how to work with programs they could use to get a better outcome for themselves.

During the workshop, eobiont and our managers set up goals. From there, eobiont executed the organic and paid campaign for us on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

What is the team composition?

We worked on the workshop with Daniel (Creative Director) and two project managers from eobiont. I’m unsure how many teammates worked on executing the campaign. 

How did you come to work with eobiont?

I met one of eobiont’s project managers at a marketing fair during a conference about social media. From there, I met Daniel and decided to go with eobiont. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between €15,000–€20,000 (approximately $16,000–$22,000 USD), including the workshop and campaign execution. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2017–February 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

eobiont positively impacted our company because our managers saw that we could have consultants help us increase our audience on social media. At that point, the B2B approach wasn’t so much on social media, so eobiont’s work helped us establish an internal awareness of what needed to be done. 

Externally, we reached a wider audience than ever before thanks to eobiont using organic and paid strategies. Overall, eobiont was really helpful and solved our challenges. 

How did eobiont perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on time and within the budget. The workshop was very organized, and eobiont knew how to approach our managers and help them understand the campaign. eobiont was always available for negotiations and as a point of contact when we had questions. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

eobiont was really professional. Even though our campaign only involved the German market, we speak in English internally. The fact that Daniel is a native English speaker was very helpful when communicating with our company’s managers. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They didn’t need to improve anything; everything was fine when we worked with them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I appreciated that eobiont started the project with a workshop where we developed a strategy together. We were the domain experts and knew our goals, and eobiont provided their expertise in social media. Having consultations with eobiont was great, as was having the team execute the strategies for us.

The agency moderated the entire process, they guided us through the process by making use of their really helpful and unique workshop formats. In the end, the agency provided a tailor-made strategy for the new website structure; they delivered all buyer personas, we jointly created the buyers journey, they defined a new concept for Google-optimized pillar pages, and the entire content. Lastly, they created all copy for PPC campaigns in order to promote the content.
