I’m the head of business intelligence at iFood, a food delivery platform that operates in Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico.

What challenge were you trying to address with Elecsis?

We wanted to create some integrations with some of our key accounts. Through our API, we wanted to have an integration that would automate the order management process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team used PHP and a Laravel framework.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked directly with four people: two in-house developers, a project manager, and the CEO.

How did you come to work with Elecsis?

We worked with them previously. When we started with these integrations, we were working with freelancers and realized we needed a more solid approach to escalating the development.

After looking at different agencies, we noticed that Elecsis worked with similar projects. We contacted them and started working with their team right away.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $30,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them over a year ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Elecsis adapts to the needs of the project. Some of the accounts we manage are pretty complicated, so we needed them to be very involved. They did that very well, and that was one of the reasons why the project has been successful.

Their team acted like part of ours, going the extra mile for the good of the project.

How did Elecsis perform from a project management standpoint?

One of their greatest strengths is their constant follow-up. The team often met with our team and clients, showing great leadership in the management portion.

They used Trello for project management, but with us, they managed everything through phone calls and weekly meetings. Everything worked perfectly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their CEO works alongside the team to ensure all project goals are met. The leadership shows in the results. Because of their work, we’ve been able to integrate different partners into our platform, and we already see the profits.

For what projects/services did your company hire Elecsis?

We hired Elecsis for the design and development of software to support our coworking operation.

What were your goals for this project?

The solution had to replace the multiple SaaS platforms we were using and unite everything under one dashboard to allow us to scale with our growing number of locations and members.

We wanted the front end to be intuitive and user friendly so that members who tend to be millenials and are used to intuitive apps could self onboard or be onboarded on the spot in just a few minutes when they signed up.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After meeting with several local developers we realized that they either didn't have the depth of a larger team to be able to pull off this size project on the time frame we were hoping for or lacked the experience and understanding of our industry and presented alternatives that didn't match our needs.

One of the things that kept us coming back to them was the fact that their team has the ability to make suggestions based on both the technical side and the marketing side (they have a Psychologist Elecsis has been instrumental in the development of the software as well as a website that represents our brand.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They co-designed with our team and developed solution which includes:

• management and CRM of members
• payment gateways, recurring payments
• forum
• events
• management and allocation of resources in each location (i.e, conference room bookings, open desks) 
• multiple users and admins 
• app for IOS and Android 
• website revamp

Elecsis conducted 2 discovery sessions to help us communicate our needs and settle on goals for the project. the sitemaps, mockups and wireframe for the software were laid out and once we approved they began development on the dashboard. We are able to track the sprints via Asana and provide feedback during our virtual check ins

What was the team composition?

We have a dedicated project manager whom we communicate with directly and a staff of multiple developers working on the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Since the project isn't complete yet we don't have results to share, however we've been able to streamline so many efficiencies into the platform that we predict the time savings for our team alone will greatly decrease our overhead cost and reduce the amount of money we are spending on multiple Saas solutions per month by about 1/3.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We use Slack for daily communication, Asana for project management and Google meet for virtual meetings. They've met our deadlines from the beginning and extremely responsive when we've had immediate questions on our end. We haven't experienced many issues due to language barriers or culture.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their attention to detail, patience for non-technical founders, and ability to be nimble/adapt have been impressive. They also have a ton of experience and because of that, they can see where we have blindspots and save us time money and energy.

Are there any areas for improvement?

So far we are very pleased with both the staff and the process.

I’m the director of operations at Level Up.

What challenge were you trying to address with Elecsis?

We are moving from a lifestyle business to a software as a service platform and we needed a complete custom site development.

We asked for a cloud-based solution that would allow us to streamline our process and communicate with our teachers, students, and employees. We wanted to make sure we had access to analytics and room for growth in the future through expanding with our mobile app. 

Elecsis became our most valuable partner and an affordable solution to being able to create our MVP and scale our business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We took our current website design, simple customer interface and asked them to now provide us with 5 interface modules to allow for more volume and user controls.

 In the future, we’re planning to ask them to provide website maintenance and develop our mobile app.

What is the team composition?

Franklin De La Rosa Lafaurie (CEO & Founder, Elecsis) and Nelson Caraballo (Web Developer, Elecsis) are my key points of contact and project owners. 

How did you come to work with Elecsis?

Our founder is from the same area as Franklin, their founder. They had a meeting to talk about our aspirations for the project. Franklin pitched what his team could do, and that’s how it came to fruition. 

We knew that we needed someone who would be flexible with our team. We are a small startup and do not have a CTO. No one from our team "speaks coding".  We needed a team who would be patient with us. While our founders did the final hiring, I suspect that was one of the main reasons we ended up working with them. They meet you where you are. 

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve invested around $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around October of 2018, and the partnership is ongoing. We will be wrapping up this month, and then going straight into beta testing. This work will continue through mobile app development in 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are a staff of 3 so there is only so much bandwidth. This new platform will allow us to handle more volume and scale in a healthier way. 

Since we’ve started working with them, we’ve started to see some of the greatest inefficiencies in our model. That’s been very exciting. Our team ends up in tears because we’re so excited at what they’ve helped us develop. We dream something up and ask if it's an option, or even possible, and they show us the most efficient way. We'll be able to hit goals of moving from on average 30 classes (our product) a  month to 300 a month plus.

How did Elecsis perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team meets deadlines but is also flexible enough when we end up a bit short. We had some unexpected issues on our end and they were patient with us. 

As we were editing the new site, they'd log on so they were readily available if we had any questions as we moved through each module.

We've had access to the site as they build and sometimes our first instinct wasn't the best for workflow and Franklin is great at suggesting useful changes and ideas.

Now that we are further down the process, we have weekly check-ins so we can answer any questions, hear them out on stronger options or processes since they know development in a way we do not. We trust them to help make the best site possible with our goals in mind. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are “yes” people. They are always accommodating to what we want, even if that means they have to go backward. They offer lots of solutions and options. 

We’re a staff of three. I have zero coding experience. Yet, they’ve made me feel so included. They’ve talked me through the process — helping me get from point A to point B, and now almost to point Z. It’s really amazing, considering the fact that we’re not even in the same country. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

From my perspective, there isn’t anything they could improve on.

We needed a platform to support different things, most importantly to comply with new government regulations for clinical reports.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a web platform that we can access online from anywhere in the world. They also redesigned our website and migrated our data to the new system.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people.

How did you come to work with Elecsis? 

They were recommended by colleagues that had already worked with them. We met up a couple of times, showed them what we needed, and they understood very quickly. We evaluated a couple of other companies, but Elecsis’ proposal was the best; on budget and technically good.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent $5,000–$8,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between 2013–mid-2014.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their custom development work was tailored exactly to our needs and it really helped us a lot. Our work has become a lot more efficient thanks to their software. 

How did Elecsis perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated by email or phone. Anytime we needed them they would come and dedicate as much time as needed; we never had any restrictions or any kind. They were always open to our needs and even now if there is any flaw they send an engineer to fix it. We’re very happy with their work. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re constantly looking for ways to improve and stay at the forefront of the market.

I couldn’t say anything; they’ve been great.
