As a team, we started using Google Ads for a couple months and started seeing good results. We were then given a pitch from Disruptive Advertising that they could really take our Google Ads performance to the next level. There wasn't much specialty or technique going into the internal campaigns we were running and they informed us we could be doing a lot better with optimizations and a specialized team running it for us. So we agreed to have them run it for us to see if they could get us a better ROI.

We had mutual connections with the executive team at Disruptive and had only heard good things about the agency as a whole.

The scope of the work was fairly simple. Manage our Google Ads accounts with a given budget and get better results than what we were doing on our own internally. Better results beings defined as more leads at a lower cost per conversion.

We worked with several of their digital ads specialists, strategists, and content creators.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Overall, Disruptive was great to work with in terms of communication, timeliness, and very professional. Very nice, smart group of people to work with. Unfortunately, we just didn't see the uptick in results that we were promised so it only made sense to revert back to running the account internally. By running the campaigns internally, we reached better results and saved money.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was great. We met at a regular cadence each week over video conference.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Each employee at Disruptive was very kind and pleasurable to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall, based on our experience, I would recommend Disruptive to anyone looking to keep their ads running or account afloat if they are limited on resources/time to be able to do it themselves. They will produce average/good results month-to-month that is good for your business. However, we didn't see the uptick in optimization and growth until we took over our ads management in-house and put a lot of time into it ourselves.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have been involved in franchising 25 years and was referred to Disruptive from a colleague of mine that has worked with them in the past. The deciding factors were responsiveness, cost and proven results with other customers.

We had a kick-off meeting and then they put together landing pages, ad sets and we reviewed everything and got the program launched within a few weeks. They also incorporated the landing page and ad sets from the previous company we worked with. They created the landing pages for the new campaign in UnBounce and we created in Hubspot.

We have our main account rep, our marketing strategy consultant and the VP of account services. Both have been great to work with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The lead generation effort has continued to grow steadily since we launched. The primary campaign runs at approximately $45-$50 / lead and we are generating close to 100 leads per month based on our current budget. We have closed 2 franchisees from the effort so far.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We got the program launched in less than a month! There were bi-weekly calls at first and then monthly calls with monthly reporting showing results. Open lines of communication are always there and the timeliness of response to any questions is always first rate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the leads is impressive. We are generating interest of people who truly see an opportunity with our franchise. I'd take quality over quantity any day and they are delivering. They are also very easy to adapt, take feedback and make adjustments based on what is going on with the campaigns.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could increase the reporting to more of a dashboard style reporting, but we aren't running tons of different campaigns so what they provide is sufficient for our needs.

We have mostly exceeded expectations. Joey L has been absolutely outstanding in nearly every way.

The fact that they really seem to be on the ball. They preemptively take steps that benefit my business. This is a big contrast to my previous firm, which I felt like I had to manage themm

Can not think of any, Joey LeClear asks me this every time we meet. He makes an effort to make sure everything is as good as it can be.

After a kick-off meeting, Disruptive Advertising quickly created the Facebook + Instagram Ad campaigns and refined those over several months. We did see an increase in engagement and traffic. Unfortunately, we had to end our engagement due to the business being on sale.

Our Google Ads account needed the attention of a specialist. We needed to better understand how Google Ads worked, someone to untangle what had been previously set up, and we wanted to increase sales and ROAS.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We started by searching for reputable PPC companies, and how to pick the best company to outsource Google Ads with. Disruptive came up in nearly every search. After interviewing a handful of companies, it was determined the Disruptive understood our goals and knew how to help us reach them. We also felt that the value for the service provided was fair and reasonable.

After the initial kick-off meeting, where we discussed goals and strategies, our new rep, Joey, came up with a plan on how to begin to help us reach the goals. Since then, he has continually worked to help us see why he's doing what he's doing, showing us the process, and what to expect. He has been able to help us untangle the mess that Google reps got us into, and has now been organizing the account so that the data we receive is accurate.

At this point, we are working on new ads, as well as working old ones over to be more efficient. Joey has also helped us understand ways that we can increase Brand Awareness and increase traffic with new customers.

I initially met with Micah, who told me all about the company. After I met with Luke and Daryl, I had complete confidence that this was the company we needed for our goals. Lisa helped with the onboarding call, where I met Joey, our account rep. Everyone that I've interacted with at Disruptive has been great. Recently I met Jace, who is in the CRO department, and we may be working with him in the future.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Initially, all of our data from our ads were scrambled. What we thought were search ads turned out to have keywords that made them branded ads more than anything. We thought we were having great success with new customers, but in looking at the account with Joey, he found that was not the case. We've been able to really clear up the data and see what improvements we can make.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Joey and I meet weekly to go over what he's working on, copy for new ads, and the data for the week. As we are still working out all the kinks, these meetings are very good for our team to be able to see and really understand where the money is going and what the benefits are from the work Joey is doing in the account. The communication with Disruptive has been top-notch.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Joey clearly understands and knows how to make our ads work for us. He was able to meet with our CEO and help them see what we were doing and gave them confidence in his skills. There are many services that the company offers, and the departments appear to be well-connected with one another that they can share with me how the other services could benefit the company. However, there is absolutely no pressure to use them for any other services. They are entirely pressure-free and respectful. The company has earned their stellar reputation.

We wanted to create brand awareness and conversion for our business through Facebook, Google, and Amazon.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Disruptive Advertising handled my Facebook and Google advertising, Google Analytics, and my Amazon sponsored ads — they were my complete marketing team, and their efforts included design as well.

I found them on Clutch and selected them based on their reviews. After I reached out to them, I liked their team, and it seemed like they had a good grasp of their work.

We spent $700,000–$800,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February–August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us increase our Amazon’s ROI; we were at 5x ROI, and we’re now at 18.5x ROI. On the Google side, we went from 10x ROI to 15x ROI — these numbers are quite an improvement.

How did Disruptive Advertising perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good; we were in constant contact with them, and there was no wall in contacting them — they did what we asked and had no issues with them. In terms of communication, we had weekly calls, and they instantly implemented any change needed. We communicated via email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their full transparency was what stood out from them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on, but it’d be beneficial for them to expand their services into content creation.

Any advice for potential customers?

Lean back against the content side of the project; they have good content and have their unique approach. Disruptive Advertising’s team only needs someone to manage their social, Google, and Amazon spend.

We started running PPC Ads for our DFARS Cybersecurity Online Workshop. These were very successful to begin with, disruptive was able to walk us through how changing our ads can optimize our ad spend. There were then a series of PPC Ad Campaigns that we ran due to the success we had to begin with.

We had an account manager, who often worked with a graphics team and content department to write ad copy.

We were able to generate an outstanding amount of quality leads in a number of different ways through the different ads they were able to run. Almost all of our leads have been qualified and ready to act.

During our bi-weekly meetings we were able to go over reports that were generated as a month to date summary on how well our ads were doing. Communication was great and they were able to work well with our team and explain some of the more technical concepts for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We appreciated the dedication of our account manager in helping us to find solutions when ads were not performing as expected.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Something we would have liked to see is just more in-depth and organized reports on what was happening with our ads and within the industry. We were able to go over those things, but our bi-weekly reports were pretty minimal.

We've had an excellent return on investment. We trimmed our budget about a year ago, but we spend $1000/month roughly on the PPC campaign and we generate many qualified leads.
