I needed a new editable CRM system, we were using CircleLoop and I discovered Monday.com, DMT helped me create, develop and build all the systems I needed within Monday.com.

I was helped a lot by streamlining processes and building systems within Monday.com that suited how our company worked,. It all had to be integrable with customer access, and data protection between clients, we were helped with all of this.

a meeting was held of what we needed, then the building of boards commenced, all using Monday.com, this is a forever changing/developing process while we are growing as a company.

The fact we now have a system that is working for our current needs means we had a 100% success rate.

Constant communication is key, always keeping me up to date with their progress and hitting deadlines for when we needed them live was achieved brilliantly.

We have 6 to 8 people involved in the account, it’s fully supported with expertise in everything we need. Many agencies lack this hands on experience, DMT get on with it and get stuff done - quickly and effectively.

We are a women’s wear and occasion wear retailer based in the UK. I am the senior PR and communications manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Media Team?

The challenge was to improve our paid social media and PPC campaigns.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DMT works with us on a monthly basis to provide all the paid social and marketing campaigns across Instagram and Facebook, and then also on the PPC side, they work with us on all of our Google shopping campaigns. We grow our targets each month that they have to work towards. We actually have three accounts. We have a UK store, an EU store, and a US store that serves our international customer base. They manage each account; three on the paid social side and three on the PPC side on Facebook and Google.

We have worked with them for a few years now and they know the brand quite well. We have had monthly meetings and calls with them to explain who our target audience is, who we want them to be targeting, who our competitors are. They do questionnaires with us about who our competitors are, the brands that we want to sort of replicate, and the customer base that we want to go for. We create all the content in-house and they post it for us.

I think they were recommended to us by another brand. They got in touch with us to give us a review on our current services with our previous agency and they did an audit for us. We saw the position with them and what they could bring to the table for us, so we decided to move our services over to them.

We have worked with them for at least the last 18 months and it is ongoing.

They send over weekly and monthly reporting to us. We are all really happy with the numbers that they provide for us. They truly understand the brand and truly understand the market that we want. We are occasion wear, so we are a little bit more luxury, and they target according to that.

They have a submission form that we use when we are submitting our campaigns with them and then they get back to us over email.

They are a really friendly and easy to work with team. They really understand the brand and they explain what is working well and what isn’t working well and give us feedback on campaigns and what we can do differently.

No, we have been really happy throughout the campaign.

We keep them informed and give them as much information about the brand as possible so that they can truly understand our goals and what we expect from the account.

We started working together in August 2020, and it’s an ongoing project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We saw a 500% ROI in the first month of collaborating. We're still working out the target demographic and expect ads to scale much more quickly once that’s sorted out. We haven’t seen much increase on Google yet, but we have to take COVID-19 into consideration.

They’re extremely responsive, answering emails within 20 minutes.

Their communication far exceeds that of other vendors I've worked with.

I’m not seeing huge growth on Google, but I don’t know of anything they’re doing wrong to cause that. It is hard to know this early on.

Stay on top of emails. There are several people in the team who will request approvals. If you don’t respond quickly, it can cause delays.

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Media Team?

We engaged Digital Media Team to increase our brand exposure. As a startup, we’re trying to raise awareness about our product as a viable alternative to full-fat cheddar.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team has created and managed our Facebook ads. We’ll let them know of promotions and new product launches, and we’ll work together to determine what audience we’re targeting (lactose-free consumers or general cheese lovers, for example). They’ll then created the targeted ad. They’ve targeted the weight loss community as well as Germany, which happens to be one of our biggest-growing foreign markets.

They’ve even created videos from collected testimonials to use as ads.

They also manage our Google ads and SEO to ensure that we’re positioned at the highest ranks for keywords like “high protein cheese.” They’ve worked alongside us to ensure that our site content is similarly optimized for keyword performance.

We have a meeting with them every week, and they’ll fill out a dashboard that we created. It outlines our ROAS (return on ad spend). We also review the number of impressions and site traffic we get.

I’d say that we work with around 8 teammates in total. We have one account manager. There are teammates that work on Google Ads and others that work with Facebook.

Upon looking at our ROAS, we decided to increase our budget since we were doing so well. We’ve been pleased with the numbers we’ve been seeing, particularly pertaining to customer retention and impressions.

How did Digital Media Team perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very good. They’re both proactive and reactive, depending on the situation. They manage the weekly dashboard well. We have weekly calls with them, and they’re always receptive to any changes we want to make. They recently switched to a system based around a customer support email, and they’ve been very quick to get back to any email we send.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They actually love our product, so we’re constantly sending them cheeses to try. You can tell that they’re quite passionate about our brand and the products themselves. We’ve appreciated that sense of passion.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing that hasn’t already been resolved. When we first started, we weren’t completely satisfied with their creative output, but they changed a few things. Now, we’re very happy with the visual elements they delivered for us.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our experience with Digital Marketing Team (DMT) has been nothing short of disastrous. They promised a complete website and a comprehensive digital marketing strategy but delivered an unprofessional, buggy site with numerous issues. They advised us to use Shopify, claiming a strong relationship with their account manager. However, months later, Shopify informed us that our business type wasn't supported on their platform.

While it's true that we requested some changes during the development process, this is common when building a new brand and should not have led to the problems we faced. Additionally, DMT came up with a brand name that is already used by a dating site, showing a complete lack of research and originality.

Ben from DMT apologized and promised to fix the issues within two weeks. Four weeks later, the site was handed over with multiple faults, clearly unchecked. Ben admitted the site was developed by a third party, likely abroad, and promised a meeting the next day, which never happened. When I followed up, he ended the conversation abruptly, stating he was too busy.

Days later, he conducted a terrible run-through with further fixes needed. Despite my repeated attempts to speak with him, another week has passed with no returned calls. He is apparently too busy. I paid their invoice and requested a breakdown of costs, but have yet to receive anything.

Avoid DMT at all costs. Their lack of professionalism and accountability is astounding.
