Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Digital Aptech Pvt. Ltd. was engaged to develop our web application MVP, which features a customer-facing design platform. This platform transforms user-provided inputs, such as team name, colors, age, gender, and sport, into structured prompts for a generative AI model. The resulting images are evaluated by an AI-based scoring system to ensure they meet predefined quality and content criteria.

Once approved, the images undergo a multi-step processing pipeline and are integrated into dynamic layouts that incorporate various design elements, including fonts, color schemes, and stylistic treatments. Each of these elements is tagged to ensure logical and visually appealing pairings with the generated images, producing cohesive compositions tailored to the user's profile.

The entire system is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Shopify API, enabling each personalized design to be applied to a range of physical, print-on-demand products, such as banners and apparel, which can then be easily purchased through our online storefront.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Digital Aptech successfully delivered a functional and stable MVP, which enabled us to launch to market within one week of receiving the final handoff.

Customer engagement was immediate, with purchases occurring within the first 24 hours of launch. Within the first 30 days, we achieved a 40% conversion rate among our targeted audience.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

From the outset of the project, a dedicated project manager was assigned as our primary point of contact and remained in that role through the successful launch of the MVP. They maintained clear and transparent communication throughout the process, consistently updating us with both positive developments and challenges as they arose, an approach we valued given the complexity of the solution we were collaboratively building.

What was your primary form of communication with Digital Aptech?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Digital Aptech demonstrated a genuine interest in our vision from the very beginning. When challenges emerged or progress stalled, they were equally invested in overcoming the obstacles and showed a strong commitment to finding effective solutions alongside us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Digital Aptech could have done differently?

During the bidding process, Digital APtech presented an ambitious project proposal, which led to an underestimation of the time and resources required to develop certain components. As a result, we had to reassess and reprioritize midway through the project. While this did not impact the successful delivery of our MVP, we mutually agreed to amend the scope by removing some non-essential deliverables. This experience provided valuable insight into better assessing complexity during project planning.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We signed an agreement in April 2025 for the full development of our app, paid $6,500 net to Digital Aptech, with delivery expected by end of June. To date:

Backend is unusable (AI-generated, no functional logic).
Mobile frontend incomplete.
Web frontend and admin dashboard not delivered.
“Mutual Release” document was signed without my consent by a team member with no legal authority, and is being used to justify abandoning the project while keeping our funds.
This has caused us over €20,000 in additional internal costs (legal, audits, investor withdrawals) and destroyed our planned launch schedule.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We hired Digital Aptech in April 2025 for the full development of our startup platform, Formly. The contract clearly stated delivery by end of June / early July.

We paid them $8,500 net. After more than 4 months:

Backend: unusable, AI-generated, no functional logic.
Mobile frontend: incomplete, crashes on every click, never reached a usable state or TestFlight-ready version. Progress was deliberately stalled despite repeated payment requests for “next milestones” that supposedly would fix everything.
Web frontend & admin dashboard: never delivered, no working version exists.
Communication collapsed once payments were made – we only gained access to the backend after being forced to pay an extra $2,000.
To make matters worse, they used a “Mutual Release” document supposedly for a backend refund, which took over 13 days to process (2 weeks lost). It was signed without our CEO’s consent by a team member with no legal authority to terminate the contract – something never agreed internally.

This project has caused over €20,000 in losses (internal audits, legal costs, investor withdrawals) and completely destroyed our launch timeline.

Clutch should be aware: This is not just a delay – it’s a complete failure to deliver anything usable while keeping our money. We have contracts, payment records, communication logs, and proof of non-delivery.

If you are considering hiring Digital Aptech, think twice. Once they have your money, the risk of ending up with nothing is very real

Working with them is exhausting – they rarely respond unless repeatedly chased. When you ask for progess or explanations, you’re ignored. Once they’ve received your money, there is no motivation to deliver, even if the work is catastrophic or weeks late. The goal seems to be to fill their pockets while you remain silent, regardless of quality or delays.

The unprofessionalism

Are there any areas for improvement or something Digital Aptech could have done differently?

Learn to manage a large number of clients at the same time (if you commit to them, be aware that you will be put on hold and that they will use meaningless excuses about being out of the office to refuse to take your calls for several days).

Company Responses

The service provider responded on August 25, 2025.

We are disappointed to see this misleading review, especially given the facts:
1. Contradictory Statements by Reviewer
The reviewer, Ethan Hompert, signed a Mutual Release Agreement as “Directeur Général” of Formly, settling all obligations. Yet here he claims he had “no authority” to sign it. This is a clear contradiction and misrepresentation of his own role.
2. Good Faith Efforts by Digital Aptech
Despite meeting agreed deliverables and addressing all audit feedback, Formly later demanded 2–3 months of additional design changes for free—outside the signed scope. When we declined extortionate demands, hostility began. Still, in good faith, we even refunded €2,000+ voluntarily to maintain goodwill.
3. Extortionist Approach
The review omits that Formly used threats of reputational harm (“negative reviews unless demands are met”) as leverage. This is documented in writing. Such conduct is not a fair reflection of business dealings, but an attempt at coercion.
4. Track Record of Digital Aptech
We have delivered successful projects for Fortune 1000 clients worldwide and continue to maintain long-term client partnerships. This isolated, malicious review does not reflect the professionalism or quality that global clients trust us for.
We caution fellow vendors to be wary of clients who attempt to rewrite contracts after signing and resort to reputational threats when refused. Our commitment remains to transparency, fairness, and high-quality delivery — but not at the cost of enabling bad faith practices.
